Help identifying lead in PP workstation (CD Rom)

A couple of months ago, I had to 'steal' one of the leads from one of our PC workstations for another purpose.  I'm in the process of replacing the lead, but cannot for the life of me determine what kind of connector's required.  It's the one that supplies the power to the CD Rom drive.
It's a SATA connection on the CD drive, and I'd assumed it'd be a molex on the other, but the protruding lead is not a molex.
See pic of lead in pic I've uploaded.
Thanks for any help!

I'm facing exactly the same problem now. Initially I reported it as a K3b bug. https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35858 However, it seems that running cdrecord manually also spoils blank CDs. All the data is written, even the checksumming succeeds (!!!) but then the CD looks blank when re-inserted.
The only difference with respect to your report: The CDs *can* be written multiple times. Obviously, this destroys them completely, so K3b's checksums won't match any more. (Actually they can't be even generated, because the CD is not readable any more.)
This is either a hardware failure, or some software glitch, such as a forgotten finalization step that would make the filesystem on the CD accessible. (Anyway, writing an ISO image should be just straightforward, no filesystem metadata is generated. Everything should be in the ISO file already, byte by byte.)

  • Help identifying an instrument/synth in a clip

I don't know any better place to ask these sorts of questions, so if anyone has any recommendations for better places to ask these questions, let me know.
I need help identifying a sound in this clip. I'm interested in the style of music and its components. In this clip, I can identify the drums, the bass guitar, a rhythm guitar offering a pad of strumming, a lead guitar going through some distortion, plucked every few seconds.
But there's a noisy, fuzzy "ahhhhh" pad underneath it all. Can anyone suggest what it is, or how it mightve been made? It sounds to me like a "choir" sample run through some fuzz and gentle modulation to ebb and flow beneath the rest of the song. But it could also be a synth.
I'm trying to re-create the sound. This is the first 20 seconds of a song called "Alison" by a 90's shoegaze band called Slowdive.

    Thanks!

It is, for me. Those samplers just never sound the same as the real deal.

I need help identifying an old Macintosh game: it was a painting game where you rode a roller coaster to an art museum and you got to pick what kind of art work you were going to make. It was animated, 2D i believe. This was the early 90's and I've been trying to hunt it down. I think there was some kind of animal in it, a giraffe maybe?

Could you be thinking of Microsoft Home's "Fine Artist" for Macintosh, as shown in this Amazon.com listing?  This program was bundled with the Performa series of Macs during the mid-90s.

I need help identifying which Magsafe Power Adapter I need for my Macbook Pro Model A1398, EMC 2673?

Provided the computer-end fits, you are free to use one with a HIGHER Wattage rating. No damage whatsoever will be done to any component, but it will likely run cooler (but may be slightly heavier).
If you use one with too LOW a Wattage rating, you will not be able to charge and run at the same time, and your computer's top speed (for its most intensive computations) will be limited.

  • Help Identify Card

Recently bought HP Pavillion 7670 (Core Duo E6600) which comes with "Ati Radeon x1600se 512 MB" video card.
System running Windows XP MCE 2005 (all up-to-date)
I have identified this to be manufactured by MSI [MS-V040B0609060667].
However I cannot find a 512 MB 1600 card in the product range. :(
The problem I have is that Device Manager was reporting this as a 1600 series card, until I updated to the latest driver from Ati [8.31-061011a-038529C-ATI]. It now reports this as a 1300 series card.
Anyone got a clue what is going on and help identify the card?

    Thanks for all the advice.
Have removed all the drivers as suggested and re-installed HP update.
    Seems okay now: -

  • Help identifying a font ASAP!

Please don't cruify me for the following, but I need help identifying this hideous font. Client is adamant on it, out of my hands. I could swear I've seen it before, I think it may be some PC font. Looks like Curlz MT, but not quite.
    Thanks

It's called Gigi - the ITC version is available from fonts.com (and probably other vendors). I think it was also bundled with some version of Windows a long time ago.
    -Bill
Edit: It was bundled with some versions of Microsoft Office.

  • Help identifying port on T61p

    Hi,
I know this is going to be a really noob question but I'm a bit confused here.
I got a USB3 Express card (this one) for my T61P to add some more USB ports but I don't think this is the right card.
The card is loose in the slot and the Thinkpad doesn't even recognise it.
Can I confirm the kind of slot this is? I've taken a picture of it to further help identify it.
I always assumed that it would be a Express 54 card.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is no screw, and it is confusing. T61 models were made with a choice of 2 different assemblies. One supported a smart card and a PC card, while the other supported a PC card and an express card. The part you need is 42X3827, but swapping it in requires complete disassembly. It plugs into the motherboard, which must be removed from the base and the magnesium frame must be removed.

Up to an average of 2-3 crashes a day now at times.

  • Help identifying microdimm

I've got a 72-pin microdimm that was in the bag with a laptop I inherited at work. It certainly isn't for the Portege that it was in the bag with but I'm wondering whether it will fit my Vaio, can anyone offer any help identifying it?
The PCB has "B36009811019 A" and "MCD352" printed at the bottom and it has 16 ICs on it with the part number "HM51W4400BLTT7".
    Thanks!

    Hello
Sorry but this kind of information you can get just from technicians. In my opinion you should contact the notebook producer support or service partner. I am pretty sure that they can identify the module and give you proper information.
    Bye

  • MSI P67A-G43 (B3) - Need help identifying this postcode

    Need help identifying this postcode:
    CPU:i7-2600k
    Mobo:MSI P67A-G43 (B3)
    PSU: Corsair 750w
GPU isn't the problem since I replaced it and still get this postcode. RAM isn't the problem since I've tried four different sticks one at a time in each slot and still get the postcode. Getting no live video from the GTX580 and no onboard video. I think either the mobo or the CPU is the problem, don't want to have to send both in for RMA so if anyone can help me identify the postcode that'd be great.

    Hey Ctrl
Well I happen to have the same beep code on my motherboard (P67A-C43 B3), after trying different suggestions from the MSI forum users and MSI technical support I ended up RMA(ing) my motherboard.
You can try resetting the CMOS, by flipping the battery and leaving it like that for 5 minutes and putting it back to its original side. I highly doubt it is your cpu. Like anybody in the forum might suggest, try different components which appears you already did. I doubt your corsair is faulty. CPU and motherboard are your best bet that are faulty, and i highly doubt that it is the CPU because for there to find another person (you) that had the same problem as me since last friday (RMA board yesterday, wednesday) I find it highly unlikely.

  • I just replaced my macbook's batter and charger about a month ago, but it hasn't been charging for about 2 days now? Could someone help identify the problem and/or provide a solution.

  • How do I Identify Lead and Lag in consecutive dates with multiple values?

    I am using:
    Oracle SQL Developer (3.0.04)
    Build MAin-04.34
    Oracle Database 11g
    Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.1.0 - 64bit Production
I would like to identify the Lead and Lags based on two groups.
The groupping is that multiple C_ID can be found in a Single W_ID
and that multiple D_VAL can be found in C_ID
So I would like to identify and mark with "Lead" and "Lag" related to the "consecutivedaysc" (this already matches the D_VAL and C_ID very well) for example W_ID 2004 has C_ID 2059 with D_VAL of 44 for April 2 & 3, the consecutive days are 2 and I would like to correctly mark April 2 as the Lead and April 3 as the lag.
Then I would like to mark the "Lead" and "Lag" independent of if there are multiple D_VAL on the same W_ID
Example that I am having trouble with:
W_ID 2285 on April 10 for C_ID 7847, I don't understand whay I can't get "Lag" in stead of a "Lead" realted to the consecutivedaysw
I would like to eventually have it that the data gets summarized based on W_ID and sinlge (non-repeating) dt with Lead and Lags.

  • Need help identifying model of a Treo

I rarely need a PDA, so I didn't replace the old M105 that died.  A friend replaced a Treo she'd been using and gave it to me, but all I got was the device itself, the charger, and the USB cable.  I'm having trouble getting it to load my contacts and calendar (for some reason it did transfer four items in a ToDo list!), and I can't even figure out what model it is, let alone can I find a user's manual.  It is definitely just a PDA and not a phone.
On the back of the Treo is the following identification:
    GMHED248700FX
What is it?!  And what version of Palm software is required in order to get it to sync with the Palm software on my computer?  I thought at first it might be a model 700FX, but I can't find that model listed anywhere on the Palm site, so clearly that isn't it.  Is there any other way to identify it?
    Thank you for any help!
    Post relates to: None

Thank you!  That certainly seems to be the one I have, and the age isn't important for what I need.  Now, though, that leads to the next issue, which is that I can't sync my contacts and calendar, although I think I've figured out why for myself.  Still, it generates another question.
I am currently using Palm v 4.2.1 on my desktop (Mac 10.4.11)  I bet it's too new, isn't it?  Is it going to be possible for me to back off to Palm 4.0 without losing the information that's currently stored in 4.2.1?  I don't mind installing an older version of the software (and I found the download), but if it means losing my information, I'll just pass this free Treo on to some other unsuspecting person.

  • Need help identifying problem (lockup/freezing in Warcraft III & CS)

    my macbook pro:
    Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro1,1
    Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
    Processor Speed: 2 GHz
    Number Of Processors: 1
    Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
    Memory: 1 GB
    Bus Speed: 667 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: MBP11.0055.B08
    SMC Version: 1.2f10
    Serial Number: W862318KVWY
    Sudden Motion Sensor:
    State: Enabled
It freezes and has black screens during games in which apple Q and force quit doesn't work. I would need to restart the comp. when it freezes the sound would stutter, repeating whatever the game had playing.
things I tried but the macbook pro still froze:
running the game off USB storage device(so i think HD is fine)
wiping HD and reinstalling OS, updating everything and playing it on both USB and the installation of game (not 3rd party apps)
opening the macbook pro and cleaning out the dust (didn't take anything out, just blew dust off)
resetting RAM with apple options P R
took RAM out and put it back in
ran apple hardware test (everything was okay)
running a different game (Counter-Strike on CrossOver and still froze)
Disk Warrior 4 (only minor repairs and it froze in the test game after i ran DW4)
booting system from an external and running the game from USB
    things to note:
although sometimes when it freezes, the temperatures are really high - even with fan control (70-80C) but, i've reproduced the lock up with the temperatures at 60C, so i don't think its a heat problem (thermal paste and whatnot)
sometimes in safari, quicktime, itunes, or just on desktop picture i would see a single, horizontal, 1 pixel-height distorted line running across the screen, which i can take screenshots of. no idea what's causing it but it could have some relation with the freezing/lockups
some days it will run without problems for the entire day, just to see lockups the very next day. I think it could be random.
    help please..

    =\ no one....

  • Help identify broken components - K8T Neo FIS2R

Please help me identify these components!
I checked around a bit and I can't seem to find the info I need anywhere.
While installing an XP-120 on a 3400+ that had been reaching 80c with the stock cooler, I slipped the screwdriver off the retention clip and tapped the board.  I didn't scratch the PCB but I did manage to smash a couple tiny components next to the DIMM slots.  The components are labelled RN51 and CN19.  RN's are black and have "100" printed on them in white.  CNs are purple-grey and have nothing on them.  They each have 8 leads.
If someone can help me identify these components, I can have a friend with hands like a surgeon replace them for me.  Here are the pictures:

    Hi
    Thats the $64000 question.
If your sure - very sure- the PSU is OK, then next stop is ram, pity you don't have a D bracket, it should be supplied. It is a new Mobo?
All you can do is check each stick on its own in each dimm slot. But as the RAM retains info, the system needs ' discharged' before you can be sure. One easy way to 'reset' the Ram is to use another stick of differant properties, ie. DDR2100 or 2700.  If none available, try removing RAM, remove power cable first, and be careful of static it can kill your ram in a sec. Earth yourself to case before touching it. Cmos jumper on pins 2 + 3, remove  Vid card, all drives and fans. leave for 10 mins or more.  Replace cmos jumper on pins 1 +2. use differant ram if you can. then replace HDD,  Floppy, and Vid card. Cpu fan and 20 and 4 pin square connectors.  Try to post, if it works, put keyboard and mouse in.
    Cheers
