Help Identifying my G4

I have a powermac g4 model #5183. I have read the support page about how to determine which g4 you have.. but I don't see this one on the list. I read alot of posts here about how to figure it out also. but I am still having trouble.
it has a single 400mhz processor, dvd drive, 1 agp graphics card (rage 128?), has 3 open slots next to it. has 4 slots for memory which I have installed for now 512mb (upgrading to 1.5gb). the sound ports are verticle. there are 2 usb ports and 2 firewire ports. I am thinking this is the g4agp model. or the gigabit ethernet. ?? not sure. I am going to replace the hard drive with a 200gb drive. I am upgrading the memory. I would like to upgrade the graphics card. any suggestions? what type of card can I buy for the upgrade? is it a ati radeon card that I can get? when I try to look at them online they all say they are compatible with windows vista, xp ect. but not mac. will they work for a mac? Would a 128mb card make a whole world of difference compared to what is in there now? I know I asked alot of ?'s. thanks for any help. I appreciate it!
Ken

I need help identifying an old Macintosh game: it was a painting game where you rode a roller coaster to an art museum and you got to pick what kind of art work you were going to make. It was animated, 2D i believe. This was the early 90's and I've been trying to hunt it down. I think there was some kind of animal in it, a giraffe maybe?

Could you be thinking of Microsoft Home's "Fine Artist" for Macintosh, as shown in this Amazon.com listing?  This program was bundled with the Performa series of Macs during the mid-90s.

  • Help identifying an instrument/synth in a clip

I don't know any better place to ask these sorts of questions, so if anyone has any recommendations for better places to ask these questions, let me know.
I need help identifying a sound in this clip. I'm interested in the style of music and its components. In this clip, I can identify the drums, the bass guitar, a rhythm guitar offering a pad of strumming, a lead guitar going through some distortion, plucked every few seconds.
But there's a noisy, fuzzy "ahhhhh" pad underneath it all. Can anyone suggest what it is, or how it mightve been made? It sounds to me like a "choir" sample run through some fuzz and gentle modulation to ebb and flow beneath the rest of the song. But it could also be a synth.
I'm trying to re-create the sound. This is the first 20 seconds of a song called "Alison" by a 90's shoegaze band called Slowdive.

    Thanks!

It is, for me. Those samplers just never sound the same as the real deal.

I need help identifying which Magsafe Power Adapter I need for my Macbook Pro Model A1398, EMC 2673?

Provided the computer-end fits, you are free to use one with a HIGHER Wattage rating. No damage whatsoever will be done to any component, but it will likely run cooler (but may be slightly heavier).
If you use one with too LOW a Wattage rating, you will not be able to charge and run at the same time, and your computer's top speed (for its most intensive computations) will be limited.

  • Help Identify Card

Recently bought HP Pavillion 7670 (Core Duo E6600) which comes with "Ati Radeon x1600se 512 MB" video card.
System running Windows XP MCE 2005 (all up-to-date)
I have identified this to be manufactured by MSI [MS-V040B0609060667].
However I cannot find a 512 MB 1600 card in the product range. :(
The problem I have is that Device Manager was reporting this as a 1600 series card, until I updated to the latest driver from Ati [8.31-061011a-038529C-ATI]. It now reports this as a 1300 series card.
Anyone got a clue what is going on and help identify the card?

    Thanks for all the advice.
Have removed all the drivers as suggested and re-installed HP update.
    Seems okay now: -

  • Help identifying a font ASAP!

Please don't cruify me for the following, but I need help identifying this hideous font. Client is adamant on it, out of my hands. I could swear I've seen it before, I think it may be some PC font. Looks like Curlz MT, but not quite.
    Thanks

It's called Gigi - the ITC version is available from fonts.com (and probably other vendors). I think it was also bundled with some version of Windows a long time ago.
    -Bill
Edit: It was bundled with some versions of Microsoft Office.

  • Help identifying port on T61p

    Hi,
I know this is going to be a really noob question but I'm a bit confused here.
I got a USB3 Express card (this one) for my T61P to add some more USB ports but I don't think this is the right card.
The card is loose in the slot and the Thinkpad doesn't even recognise it.
Can I confirm the kind of slot this is? I've taken a picture of it to further help identify it.
I always assumed that it would be a Express 54 card.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

There is no screw, and it is confusing. T61 models were made with a choice of 2 different assemblies. One supported a smart card and a PC card, while the other supported a PC card and an express card. The part you need is 42X3827, but swapping it in requires complete disassembly. It plugs into the motherboard, which must be removed from the base and the magnesium frame must be removed.

Up to an average of 2-3 crashes a day now at times.

  • Help identifying microdimm

I've got a 72-pin microdimm that was in the bag with a laptop I inherited at work. It certainly isn't for the Portege that it was in the bag with but I'm wondering whether it will fit my Vaio, can anyone offer any help identifying it?
The PCB has "B36009811019 A" and "MCD352" printed at the bottom and it has 16 ICs on it with the part number "HM51W4400BLTT7".
    Thanks!

    Hello
Sorry but this kind of information you can get just from technicians. In my opinion you should contact the notebook producer support or service partner. I am pretty sure that they can identify the module and give you proper information.
    Bye

  • MSI P67A-G43 (B3) - Need help identifying this postcode

    Need help identifying this postcode:
    CPU:i7-2600k
    Mobo:MSI P67A-G43 (B3)
    PSU: Corsair 750w
GPU isn't the problem since I replaced it and still get this postcode. RAM isn't the problem since I've tried four different sticks one at a time in each slot and still get the postcode. Getting no live video from the GTX580 and no onboard video. I think either the mobo or the CPU is the problem, don't want to have to send both in for RMA so if anyone can help me identify the postcode that'd be great.

    Hey Ctrl
Well I happen to have the same beep code on my motherboard (P67A-C43 B3), after trying different suggestions from the MSI forum users and MSI technical support I ended up RMA(ing) my motherboard.
You can try resetting the CMOS, by flipping the battery and leaving it like that for 5 minutes and putting it back to its original side. I highly doubt it is your cpu. Like anybody in the forum might suggest, try different components which appears you already did. I doubt your corsair is faulty. CPU and motherboard are your best bet that are faulty, and i highly doubt that it is the CPU because for there to find another person (you) that had the same problem as me since last friday (RMA board yesterday, wednesday) I find it highly unlikely.

  • I just replaced my macbook's batter and charger about a month ago, but it hasn't been charging for about 2 days now? Could someone help identify the problem and/or provide a solution.

  • Could I have some help identifying and fixing dead/stuck/hot pixel?

Hello, yesterday whilst watching a movie on my Macbook Pro I noticed something on my screen, at first I thought it was just something stuck on the screen but it seems to be an issue with a pixel. I would appreciate help regarding identifying if it's a dead, stuck or hot pixel and any ways of fixing it. It seems to be smaller than what I had previously experienced (on other machines) dead/hot/stuck pixels to be and I can't really tell if it's white or a light blue. It doesn't show up on any colour other than greys and blacks.
Also, is it likely that taking it to an apple store will yield results if it's still in warranty and I explain that as a photographer it's a very annoying thing to have on almost the centre of the screen.
I hope you guys can provide me with some help, it will be much appreciated.
    Stefano.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's a dead pixel or it may be dust, too. In both cases, as your computer is in warranty, take it to an Apple Store or reseller and you should get the display replaced for free, even if it's only one pixel.
I wouldn't be surprised if that's dust. I have seen a lot of cases related to dust in this forum, but it has got the same solution as the dead pixel

  • I need help identifying and removing annoying gadget that shows all open windows and applications when I mouse over a corner.

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Some time ago I installed a gadget (doesn't seem to be an item in my Applications folder) which, when I mouse-over the lower-left corner of my screen, brings up a screen showing reduced-size versions of all open application windows and Finder windows. I've tried to identify what it is, and where it is located, so I can remove it, but to no avail.
I'd really appreciate any help getting rid of this thing. Thanks!

    Hi Paul,
Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
    Check the System Preferences>Keyboard>Keyboard Shortcuts.

  • Is it possible to replace the folder image in the bookmarks list with little images to help identify the folder. I see that many places I have bookmarked automatically come with a little picture (the CBS "eye", New York Times Old English Script).

When I open my list of bookmarks most of the folders I have established have only the little file folder icon to the left. I would like to replace this file folder with some little picture or symbol to make the folders more easily identifiable. Is this possible?

There aren't extensions that can replace the favicon of a bookmarks folder AFAIK, so you will have to do that via code in userChrome.css in the chrome folder below the @namespace line.
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/userChrome.css
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Editing_configuration
You can use the ChromEdit Plus or Stylish extension to have easier access to the customization files.
    *ChromEdit Plus: http://webdesigns.ms11.net/chromeditp.html
Folder names (label="name") are cases sensitive and need to match exactly what you get via the properties
Pace the folder-icon.png icons in the same chrome folder.
This code works for icons on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
    <pre><nowiki>#personal-bookmarks .bookmark-item[container][label="Folder_Name"]{
    list-style-image:url('folder-icon.png')!important;
    -moz-image-region:auto!important;
    </nowiki></pre>

  • Need help identifying SB drivers for Windows 7?

    /? Hi
I helped a friend upgrade his computer from XP to Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.
Everything is working fine except his sound. ?I can not find and install drivers for the sound card.
We had the same thing with his printer but I was able to download the drivers and install them which solved the problem. ?I think the same thing is true of the sound card.
He did not know what kind of sound card he had in his Dell E520 computer and he could not find any documentation or driver disk.
I finally used his Service Tag to get his Build Sheet from Dell
His audio is identified as "Card, Multi-media, Audio, SB0467"
I'm pretty sure this is a Sound Blaster car but haven't been able to find specific drivers for it.
Can anyone tell me what kind of card this is and steer me to a location where I can download Windows 7 compatible drivers for it.
    Thanks for the help....

  • Need Help: Identifying RBAC Job Roles

    Hi,
My company has developed a solution that helps the deployment of RBAC in Enterprise User Administation systems, i.e., the kind of software that would allow you to centally control, and automate the provisioning of privileges to users across the enterprise.
The solution esemtially reverse engineers the existing (legacy) privileges, identifying groups of users that have a common subset of privileges. These become role candidates, which are then refined and edited using another set of tools. It is a breakthrough in this area because otherwise it is intractable (or at least prohibitively expensive) to identify what the roles should be. (if the roles were not defined to begin with, then the only alternative is really to re-engineer IT privileges across the organization).
My question is whether a variation on this software can be useful for deployments of (1) Directories; (2) Portals; (3) ID Mgmt, etc.? If so, how would you envision this working?
    Thanks so much,

    Hi,
You can view the OCS accounts for each Server with the following steps:
Open the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 snap-in.
In the console tree, expand the forest node, and then navigate to the Standard Edition server or Enterprise pool.
Expand the pool name for the Enterprise pool or the Standard Edition server, and then expand Users.
If you want to migration from OCS 2007 R2 to Lync Server 2013, you can refer to the link below:
