Help, im trying to help an elderly user who cannot remember the blackberry id his daughter gave him
Hi, Ive never used a blackberry before. My elderly friend John Williams was given a blackberry tablet by his daughter and can do nothing with it. She's out of the country and so cannot remind him of the blackberry id (email address & password) he needs in order to use it. Ive set him up a new gmail address, but cannot seem to change the blackberry ID. I was going to try wiping it all using the Blackberry instructions online to do that, but when I boot or reboot the tablet, it simply defaults to the Blackberry ID page, I can't get it out of that mode.
Please can someone help?
The email address I set up for John is [removed] if anyone would like to help an old airforce man I will check that email address for him until we get his tablet going.

I'm trying to restore my 3GS from a previous back-up point on my PC, but I can't remember the password and if I wrote it down I can't find it. If you forgot the passcode for the lock screen, follow this article, connect in recovery mode iOS: Unable to update or restore and restore: iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
If you can't remember the password for your encrypted backup, you'll have to start all over again:

iTunes and encrypted backups
In the iTunes Summary screen, select "Encrypt iPhone backup" if you want to encrypt the information stored on your computer when iTunes makes a backup. Encrypted backups are indicated by a padlock icon, and a password is required to restore the information to iPhone. You may want to write down the password for your backup and store it in a safe place. If you use a Mac, when you set a password you can select to store the password in the keychain. With iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the iOS keychain backup to a new device if you encrypt the backup.
Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password, you can continue to back up and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you must perform a full software restore and when iTunes prompts you to select the backup from which to restore, choose set up as a new device. -
He also cannot remember the answers to the security questions. I requested an email reset, and he got a message that he could not reset since it was from my computer not his.
He is so upset with himself. He is older, and is excited to "hand me down" this phone. We can't activate it until we "unlink" it to his Apple ID.

FYI: When I was trying to sync my iphone with my car, I now realize I put a passcode on my iphone which I had never put one on it before. Anyway, I kept working on freeing up more disk space on my computer and to make a long story short, I was up past 2am working on this, but finally my iphone is restored and I have all my stuff. I now have a passcode which I am sure to not forget. Like I said, I've never had a passcode before, but I kind of like the security of it. So I think I'll go ahead and keep it.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.

I have 2 Company ipads. They were set up by someone who has left the company. His email address was deleted when he left - so we cannot send a recovery email request. He connected both iPads to 'find my iphone' - and we cant locate his mobile! help!
If you have the original receipts, you can take them to an Apple Store and they may be able to remove the activation lock. A good lesson learned to have an employee clear a device when leaving.

I bought an apple iPod 5th generation the other day and I cannot remember the unlock passcode. I have done the restore thing, but because I never set it up or synced it with iTunes, it does not recognize my device. It is disabled for one hour. There's only a few things that could be my passcode, but because it disables for an hour, it is time consuming trying to figure it out. What do I do? I do not care about having to erase everything since it's new and there's nothing on it, but it was never synced with iTunes.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Select “Manage your Apple ID” and sign in.
Select “Password and Security” on the left side of the page.
If you already have security questions, you'll be asked to answer them before continuing. Forgot the answers?
Choose your new security questions, then enter the answers.
Add and verify a rescue email address, if that option is available.
Click Save.

OK, so it sounds like your internal speaker is damaged or not working.
Try this first... Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, try using the internal speaker again. If it works, good.
If not, there's some other problem. Is this device fairly new, as in less than a year, you should get a warranty replacement device from your mobile service provider.
