Help! iMessages being received on 2 different iPhones

Help! Both my iPhone 4 and my husbands iPhone 4 are on the same iTunes account. I just got around to updating his phone to ios6 and now whenever someone sends either of us an iMessage, the other phone receives it as well. How do I fix?? FYI, I have already set him up on a separate iCloud account

This is being caused by using the same Apple ID for iMessage. It is not related to iCloud. To fix this go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive on both phones and do one of the following:
Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on both phones; or
If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address on one of your phones, on the other one tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID (so both phones will be using a different Apple ID for iMessage). Note: you can continue to share an Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores. It does not need to be the same as the ID you are using for iMessage, FaceTime and other services.

Thanks for the question. To disassociate a phone from your Apple ID and iCloud account, simply sign out of the following services:
- Settings > iCloud (When prompted, opt to keep the information on your phone)
- Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
- Settings > FaceTime
- Settings > iTunes & App Store

My emails aren't being received by my new iPhone?

Try these basic troubleshooting steps first
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:
Try a different Wi-Fi connection
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

Is there a way to find out whether my imessages are being received by a specific iphone user or if there is a problem with their phone? Cannot get in touch with an out of state friend for several days.

Why are my iMessages sent from iOS (6.0) and OSX (10.8.2) being received in two different dialog boxes?

I'm trying to unify my iMessages sent from my iPhone 4S and my rMBP. iMessages I send from my iPhone to my friend's iPhone is in one window, and if I send another from messages on my rMBP it is sent to a different contact box on my friend's phone.
Is there any way to fix this, I've been trying different combinations of caller id settings on both and I'm so confused.

..I just find it strange that Oracle doesn't cache these blocks for me by replacing some of the aged blocks in the cache.
Flushing the buffer_cache seems to have the desired effect, as it does then get cached.

IMessages being received late on 'one' iDevice!

I'm signed in with my apple ID on my iPhone, iPad & my iPod Touch. I have also connected my phone number to my iPad and my iPod Touch. The problem I'm facing is at times I receive an iMessage on my iPod and on the iPad but not on my iPhone, and the messages are being sent to my iPhone phone number. They eventually get to my iPhone but sometimes it takes 10 mins or even more.
This also sometimes happens the other way around, I receive a message on the iPhone but not on the iPad but it moslty happens the way I mentioned above.
Is there a way they can all sync up at the same time?

Try this: see if the first device to get the message is the last device from which you sent one. By design, it will 'ring' the last device you sent a message from. When iMessage first came out, it would 'ring' all devices at the same time and it drove me nuts having my Mac/iPad/iPhone all chirp together.

I messages being received from a different numner

When i send a message to a friend who has an i phone they receive the message from a different number how can i stop this? as they are replying to this number and i am not receiving their messages.

More than likely someone sent you an iMessage addressed to your Apple ID email address that is also registered with iMessage on your iPhone in addition to your cell phone number. The cell phone number is registered with the Apple ID email address when activating iMessage on an iPhone.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.
Under You Can Be Reached By iMessage At, deselect your Apple ID email address.
Under Start New Conversations From, make sure your cell phone number is selected.

IMessage: messages appear on two different iPhones. How to change?

I have 3 iPhones that are syncing to 1 iMac. The only things that are "shared" are Contacts and Calendars.
With the new iMessage function, when sending messages from the iMac (phone #1) to phone #3, it will also appear on phone #2. Generally speaking, phone #1 and #3 seem to behave, but #2 is somehow getting involved in the discussion.
I only added #1 to the iMessage user list on the Mac. Sending messages from phone or computer doesn't make a difference. #2 will always get the messages as well.
And multiple messages too, by the way....They will get two messages from me, and one message being listed as coming from themself.
I disabled the "account on the computer, and I am only sending messages from the phone, but it's still stuck on getting these multiple messages out....

True, but then you get the situation that you're sitting at your Mac when a message arrives, and at the same time all your other devices start dinging, vibrating or whatever.
It's not a killer annoyance but it would be a decent idea to be able to quickly disable messaging on devices that are redundant for the moment

Emails are not being received if sent from iPhone or iPad, but MBA OK

I've used my iPhone and iPad a lot to send messages to various email addresses at a specific company. They've always gone through without problem, but suddenly they're not coming through. They aren't in the SPAM folder and haven't been quarantined either. Messages sent from my MacBook Air go through successfully.
It doesn't matter which email account I send the message through, what the content is, or who I send it to. No one else is having problems sending emails from their iPhones or iPads.

My partner and I shared an itunes account/apple i.d and we have separated.
I have created my own apple i.d however imessages were sent using my phone number and I am unsure how to unlink this with our iPad which is in his posession.
I have also obtained a notice that my email address was recently aded to the apple id that is his.
How can I completely unlink everything? I have deleted his apple id from my phone, i have even got a new iphone now but I have the same number.

Only if that other iPad is also on your Apple ID. The music is linked to an ID, not a device so the only way you can share music is to share your Apple ID.

Help with iPad Identifying Phone Numbers in iMessage Send & Receive Settings / iMessage Syncing Help - iOS 6 - iPhone - iPad

With iOS6, iPhone and iPad users will see that their Send & Receive iMessage settings have updated across their devices to be made available at both phone numbers and email addresses. You may have also seen alerts on one or more of your devices advising that another device is now using the same Apple ID/phone number for iMessage.
Being able to be reached on iMessage on both Apple ID and phone numbers across devices means that iMessage can keep the same thread and sync across devices.
Due to having 2 iPhones on different phone numbers running along side my iPad at one time, (whilst I was waiting for my phone number to be moved to a new provider), my iMessage settings on my iPad lost my phone number completely. I thought I would document the steps to recover this for anyone in the same boat.
1. Check that you are signed in with the same iCloud Account on both iPad and iPhone.
2. Turn off iMessage on your iPad from Settings > Messages.
3. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. You should see your phone number and your iCloud email address in the 'Your can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Make sure both are ticked.
4. At this point, I synced my iPhone with iTunes, then synced my iPad with iTunes.
5. On your iPad, turn iMessage back on - your phone number should now show in the 'You can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Tick the phone number. You should receive an alert on your iPhone.
This should resolve the issue.
With the above set up and with the iOS 6 updates, iMessage should now sync fine across devices however I have still found the most successful way to run iMessage is to always start new conversations from your Apple ID and to start new threads by addressing the first message to an Apple ID from an Apple ID.
To do this, go to Settings > iMessage > Send & Receive and tick your Apple ID in the 'Start new conversations from:' list, then start a new iMessage thread to the recipients Apple ID. This way, the thread will sync across iPad and iPhone. Note that a thread set up this way will not fall back on SMS, so you get a clean iMessage thread. This method also worked/works on iOS 5, as long as you send the first message of a new thread from an iPad (which can only send via Apple ID) to an Apple ID.

My mac keeps telling me my apple ID and imessage is being used on a new iPhone, help? is this related to Yosemite?

My mac has popped up with these alerts twice now, one saying 'Your apple ID is now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone.' followed by 'Your phone number is now being used for iMessage and facetime on a new iPhone.' what should I do?
I haven't got a new iPhone obviously and my current one is already been signed in and always has been, i tried changing my Apple ID password but the alerts came up again.
I recently updated to the OS X Yosemite update and have been having some isues with my wifi since then so I'm not sure if this could be related. I also had my last iPhone stolen about half a year ago but used the Track my iPhone on my cloud to set it so if it did become online it would be wiped, but obviously i am quite concerned.
