Help importing 9i components into Software Packager

Hi All,
I have finally managed to get Software Packager sort of running however when I try to import components from the 9i CD Rom set the installer is looking for a non existent jar file in the stage dierectories. It seems to search for a comlns.jar file at <CD_ROM>\stage\Components/oracle.rdbms.sqlplus/9.0.1.0.1/1/complns.jar
This location does exist and does contain the staged sqlplus jar files (in a datfiles directory) but not with that name.
Does anyone know what version of the Software packager was used to pack the 9i installer and data files? And if so where I can get my hands on it?

We are trying to build a "Lean" 9i client install that can be distributed. Are there any examples out there or perhaps someone that has done this? Our apps are installed using Installshield so I am only concerned with the Oracle Client part.

Need help importing Hi8 footage into FCE4

Hi all,
I have a Sony Digital 8 TRV310 camcorder. I'd like to be able to import the Sony footage directly into FCE 4 but am having trouble.
I've successfully imported Hi8 footage from the TRV310 into FCE 4 in the past (it's been a couple years) but for the life of me I cannot remember how I did it (it had something to do with Easy Setup and choosing 'device control = none' or something like that. I can't seem to find that option anymore and the only 'device control none' is 'DV-NTSC DV Converter' and that selection doesn't work for the import).
Here is the process that I am going through:
1. I hook my Sony TRV310 up to my Mac Pro via a firewire 400 cable, turn the camera on and switch it to VTR (play) mode. I manually cue to the beginning of the footage I want to capture.
2. Before attempting to import Sony footage into FCE 4 I go to 'easy setup' and dial in format=NTSC and use=DV-NTSC then click the setup button. I then go to file-->capture and a small window pops up indicating that capture is being initialized.
3. The the 'capture window' pops up with preview screen indicating that 'preview has been disabled'
4. I then hit the 'play' button in the capture window and then hit the 'capture now' button.
A black window with 'Final Cut Express and Apple logo' pops up for a few seconds, then a warning window pops up which states 'this operation could not be completed as there is no video'.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds pretty close to me.
Try starting a NEW Project the the DV Converter option selected , you may not have initiated the DV Converter option.
Also there is no device control, so the Capture Now will not work, Start the camera manually and use the Escape key to stop capture.

Need help importing MOV files into iMovie

I am trying to import MOV files from a USB disk -- into iMovie's event library. When I click on the files on the USB -- they are grey and won't import. They will play in QuickTime. What could the problem be? I have the latest OS and am up to date.

Can you maybe try converting them? Download the free program called Miro Video Converter from the Mac App Store. Drag the video into the window and set the output format as mp4. iMovie should import that properly.

Noob Needs Help - Importing Html Pages into "My Site"

Greetings
I am sure this is a noob question that may have been asked, but I couldn't find it by searching so here goes.
I jumped right into Dream Weaver, following an online tutorial... and have a decent webpage but I must have skipped some steps or missed something and I would hate to backtrack and do it all over again...
When I began, I just started working on a HTML page... and now that its done, I want to make it a template etc...
But I never created a "site" as far as SITE > NEW SITE etc.
So now that I have, I need to tell DW that "These pages are included... these images are included, all that neat SPRY stuff I have done needs to be "in the site".
I am looking for a button that says, "Hey dummy, you need to select the pages that are included in your site" but can't find it...
Any help?

Help importing WinHelp project into RoboHelpHTML

Dear All,
I am a programmer currently evaluating RoboHelp Office X5,
with the intention of converting our existing WinHelp project to
the more modern (and vista friendly) HTMLHelp.
I have tried using the import function (RoboHelp
Starter/Import/WinHelp Project -> HTML Help.
This is a large (2000 topics) project, with a cnt file, map
file (HM) and topics.rtf file.
Robohelp chugs away for a bit, then opens the new RoboHelp
project.
The screen briefly flashes with the workspace, then
refreshes, and the HTML Files (Topics) folder in the workspace is
empty. i.e. the new project appears to contain no topics.
RoboHelp has produced HTML files (about 2000 of them), in a
topics directory, but these don't appear in the project itself.
Not sure how to progress? Any ideas?

Help: import iphoto images into FCE

Hi, Jake here. Hope you're all doing well....
I just bumped up from iMovie 06 to FCE. Loving it so far, but still overwhlemed by the learning curve.
Today's big question is how to best import a series of photos from iPhoto into FCE. I will be mixing photos & videos for most of my projects. I have tried these two things so far:
1) Dragged & dropped from iphoto directly onto the FCE timeline. Image looks very blurry.
2) Exported at max JPEG quality from iphoto to a location on my hard drive. Then imported file into FCE, then placed on timeline. It's every bit as blurry.
Both images have a green line above them, indicating a preview render?? I don't get it, but I just know photos weren't blurry in the store when the Mac guys showed this to me a couple weeks ago.
So what is the easiest way to do this? I want to import photos quickly & easily, then add effects & movement, but I can't believe that Apple has made it so cumbersome. I imagine I am missing something here. Please advise.

I think Jake did everything correctly but is expecting too much from a DV format.
I repeated the same with a 2304 × 1736 (4 megapixel) image and I got the same:
- dragging a Photo JPEG image (square pixels) to a DV (PAL or NTSC) sequence requires rendering: I get the same green render bar on top
- in addition the resolution loss from 2304 × 1736 to 720x480 (or 720x576) makes the image blurry
If you compare the iPhoto image and the imported image in the viewer (not in the timeline) you see basically the same quality; but the same image already converted into the timeline is blurry.
I'm afraid Jake has to live with this or move to HD. In any case iMovie could do no better than FCE.
My suggestion in any case is always to check the final quality of the movie, during editing, on an interlaced monitor (TV) connected through firewire and a D/A converter (e.g. camcorder): mostly for still images.

I need help importing 16:9 into a 4:3 timeline

Hey Guys.
I'm obviously missing a step.
I've got a demo reel that I've created and it's SD NTSC 4:3.
I want to put some 16:9 footage that I've edited at the end of the demo.
The 4:3 footage was edited in FCP and exported out as an MPEG2 and brought into DVDSPro where I did all the fun DVD stuff, menus. This was a year ago.
My properties and timeline are set to 4:3
My new footage I've exported out of FCPro two different ways.
•First as a MPEG2,
•Second as an a QT DV, NTSC 4:3 with anamorphic aspect ratio checked on in my settings (FinalCut)
No matter how I bring the footage into DVDSPro I can't get it to letterbox. It's squished.
How do I get DVDSP to recognize that I want the 16:9 footage to be letterboxed?

Create two different tracks. Have one track be 4:3, and the other 16:9 Letterboxed. Then all you have to do is put the appropriate footage in the appropriate track.

Import Flash components into Flex

Hy,
I'm trying to create an AIR application. Until now I've watched and read a lot of tutorials but none had the answer I was looking for. So I have a few animations made in Flash as MovieClip symbols. They should react depending on the user's intentions. How can I import those symbols and control them with "gotoAnd" commands (i know how to use the AS in Flex but not how to import animations)? I'm starting to think Flex can't do this because I only found about skins or images or things not even close to what I want. If you know a way I would really apreciate a nice tutorial or a code sample.

I think that what you're looking for is the Flex Component Kit for Flash CS3.
By installing this kit you are able to export any movie clip from flash as a flex component.
Then, you have full access to the objects inside the component by writing code in your Flex application.

Need Help Importing Video Files Into Premiere Pro 1.5

Hello,
I recently bought a JVC Everio with the built in hard drive so need for capturing anymore. Anyway, when I went to import the footage that I recorded on the camera, Premiere says "File Format Not Supported". When I dragged the clips off of the JVC's harddrive each clip had two files one type was a .MOI and the other type of clip said MOV and the clip number like MOV042 for clip number 42. Do I need some type of video converter to open these in Premiere? I can't even import them in Windows Movie Maker, they don't need to be great quality or anything just some music performance clips I wanted to throw on Youtube. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

After my "learning session," I also thought of another resource for you. Besides the PE forum (in the old days, I know that they had a FAQ on the JVC files, but I do not think that it has been restored yet), you might want to post to the "Community" area, basically their fora, over at Muvipix. I know that there has been much discussion on the JVC files there, and believe that several forum members use those cameras. Might be some easy steps to convert your files so that PrPro can use them properly.

I need help importing Thunderbird folders into Apple Mail. I can't locate the folder files for thunderbird. OS Mountain Lion.

I have been using Thunderbird as an email client, but recently realized Apple Mail is a really good alternative and would like to change. However, I would like to preserve my existing Thunderbird email history and folder structure in Apple Mail. Apple Mail includes an import Mailboxes process, but when I try, I cannot locate the files I want to import from Thunderbird. They appear to be hidden. I haven't been able to determine if OS 10 hides files and how to make them visible.

All of your TBird mail files are located in ~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/XXX.default. The library folder is hidden in Mountain Lion by default. To make it visible open the terminal app in your utilities folder and type "chflags nohidden ~/Library" without the quotes.

UN-import BC4J components?

I've imported BC4J components into one project from another.
Now I see the package and component xml files under Navigator-->Misc files
How to I remove these imports?
Highlight -- remove from IDE cmd is not active ??
How do I refresh the import inorder to get additional components that are now
in the "from" project's package.xml ?

Can you recreate the problem using Emp and Dept tables and describe the steps so I can exactly reproduce what situation you are in?My latest test (live project) is to import components; navigate to the map directory of that
project, walk out to the package dir of my components and click on the package.xml. All components
at that time are then imported and visable under -Miscellaneous Files
- Ok now how to?
- un-important one or all of the components shown under Misc? Highlight and remove is not active.
- refresh the import? You've added new components to the imported pkg.xml. I now want to see the
new compoents?
When JDeveloper is not running, you can carefully edit your .jpr file and remove the <Item> entries (ON A BACKUP COPY) of your Project.jpr file and see if that helps remove them. But to fix the problem we'll need to reproduce it.:) Yes I just was successful at this tact. You forgot to mention having to also hack
src/myProj.jpx
in addition to the myProj.jpr
Then I re-imported and now see the new components that I added to the common project.

Need help importing canon xf files into final cut X

Hello everyone, I am new to this site and am really appreciative of all the great information I have been able to obtain through everyones posts. I do realize this thred has been beat to death and apologize in advance for being slow. I am in the same situation as I have an xf 300 and 100 and for the life of me cant get all my files into final cut X. It's about to drive me crazy! I have taken the steps to download PikaFoto's workflow tool for the xf files but I am still having problems understanding how to use the program. Thankyou for providing this program as I am grasping for anything I can to get through this problem. Can I take the files directly into this workflow tool or do I need to go through my xf utiliy program? I just need a basic process to go from my camera to final cut X. A few of you guys have aparently been able to make this work with the same problem so I know it has to be something my tiny brain has not been able to process yet. Any help would really be great. FCPX is - besides many other features - a highly complex data-base application.- Just dragging some content just somewhere isn't the workflow how a data-base.app can manage its data. I dare to say, your experiments distructed your file-structure irreversible.

I run an iMac Intel Core2 due with mac OS 10.7.3. One software package is HMRC Basic Tools and I am unable to install the latest updates. I open them up enter my password and press enter and they close down. Apple and HMRC are unable to help..ates

I run an Imac Intel Core 2 duel with Mac OS 10.7.3. I run a software package provided by HMRC and called a Basic PAYE Tools. I am trying to install the latest 2012 update for the new tax year. I have downloaded this with no problems and I click on the icon to open this. I am asked for my computer password which I enter. Then press enter and the update closes down. I have tried this several times and the same thing happens. I have the appropiate Adobe packages for this to work.
Help please as Apple helpdesk and HMRC helpdesk cannot find out why. I have even obtained a CD with the updates from HMRC and the same thing happens.

At first I tried to Quit Virusbarrier x6 but it kept on running. Then I disabled the Real-time Scanner and it all worked fine after that.
