  • Importing CAD files into Illustrator CS3 - does'nt scale dashed lines

In CS2 you could import a CAD file and it would scale dashed lines.
In CS3, Illustrator no longer does this. It scales the stroke weight, but does not recognize the dashed line information.
Is there a solution to this?
    Thank you

You can expand dashed lines first and then scale them.
Then you will get a whole bunch of vector objects, one for each dash.
I am not very familiar with CAD, but I know that imported CAD files are sometimes fiendishly difficult to edit because vector lines are often in small pieces that don't join up properly.
So I reckon Expand on all lines and then judicious Unite in Pathfinder would probably be the best way of going about things. Unite makes Compounds of closed paths so you have to be careful, otherwise you might get a huge file that won't print without splitting.
But remember that once you've expanded the lines you won't be able to edit their weight.
    Does this help?

  • Unable to import DWG CAD files to WCS

    Hi all,
I am trying to import a DWG CAD file to my WCS 4.2.62.0 for a floor area. Everything I read says I can import DWG CAD files (as well as gif, jpeg, and png) for Floor Areas but I am unable to do so. I get the following error message:
The image file is invalid. GIF, JPEG, and PNG files are acceptable image types for campuses and outdoor areas. DXF and DWG CAD files are acceptable in addition to GIF, JPEG, and PNG for Floor Areas.
Any ideas on why I am unable to import a DWG file as a floor area?
    Thanks in advance.

Hi MH, thanks for your response. Here are some links to the literature I was referring to.
This is the WCS Configuration Guide, release 4.2:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6305/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00808e525f.html#wp1125793
This is the WCS Release Notes for WCS version 4.2.62.0. It appears that support for AutoCAD files is a new feature in this release:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/release/notes/WCSRN4_2.html#wp44484
I hope those links work ok for you. I'll have to take a look at this Trapeze/Nortel 'RingMaster' (it is a great name).

  • Imported CAD file..multiple line on top of eachother...selecting only the top "layer"

I have imported a CAD file and after closer examination it seems that the file was created with redundant lines on top of each other. Is there a way I can select only the top "layer" of lines?
I say "layer" in quotes because this file has no actual layers.
    TIA!!

    Hi,
You can implement mouse listener for panel and you can identify buttons in the panel with the mouse event of panel using MouseEvent.getComponentAt(MouseEvent.getPoint()) instanceof JButton or not.
    I hope this will help,

  • Need help importing MOV files into iMovie

I am trying to import MOV files from a USB disk -- into iMovie's event library. When I click on the files on the USB -- they are grey and won't import. They will play in QuickTime. What could the problem be? I have the latest OS and am up to date.

Can you maybe try converting them? Download the free program called Miro Video Converter from the Mac App Store. Drag the video into the window and set the output format as mp4. iMovie should import that properly.
Sorry I couldnt be more of a help.

  • Help Importing Audio Files

How does one set the settings for importing audio so that when you import a file, it automatically imports it to the very next sample of the last import (i.e. so that the is no space, empty samples, between the two files).
I know you can do this by dragging, but I have a bunch of files in one project and it is fairly tedious to drag each one individually.
    Any ideas?

Your question is a little confusing. Importing audio simply brings it into the audio window of a song / project. You can also drag and drop directly into the arrange window. When you do this, you will be asked to place the files on one track or individual tracks. Usually you will choose individual tracks, but it sounds as though you would want to choose one track.
If what you are doing is dragging the files in one at a time, the way to get them to be lined up with no time between them is to use the key command "tie regions by position change" after you have dragged them in. Select them all, use the key command you have assigned and they will snap into place.

  • Badly in need of help: Importing asf-files to iTunes

    Hi all,
I have a truely oldfashioned problem. I work as a teacher and some of the materials I use are on cd-rom using asf-format. I'd really like to import the files to iTunes (and then to my iPad, 3rd gen.) so that it's easier to handle when I don't have access to a cd-rom/dvd drive.
    Do you have any suggestions?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Systems_Format
It might be very, very difficult to work with the files.  It is strange that a CD would use a streaming format since that is usually a web page format.  If it is in a proprietary format you will need a player specifically designed to accommodate that.  then too they may be in WMA format instide that stream which means proprietary format inside proprietary format.  That format is designed primarily for Windos systems so add on a third hurdle.
You can check out VLC media player and see if it will play them.  You can likely copy the CD to your computer and use if from there.  I don't know if you can find anything to convert though.

  • Help  importing .mov files

    Hi,
From recommendations in earlier posts, I downloaded MPEG Streamclip to convert VOB files on a DVD to import into FCE, but it doesn't seem to be converting them to QT movies. the file shows up on my desktop but when i try to open it is says, "this files is not a movie file." hummmm?
Also, other .mov files that i have successfully imported into FCE cannot be seen in RT and must be rendered. this is annoying because then i have to re-render when making adjustments to transitions and such. why is this? can i get around this? what is the difference between QT .mov files and footage i bring into FCE directly from mini DVs?
    any help is appreciated!

You're not converting the file properly. You should read the MPEG Streamclip documentation.
The files imported into FCE that need to be rendered are probably not in a format that's supported by FCE. Get item properties for the clips and see what the specifications are. They have to match the sequence properties in every respect.

  • Help Importing DVD Files.

I have a dvd that someelse created, I guess typical DVD with a VIDEO_TS folder with mulitple .VOB and other files.
How can I import this into Final Cut so that I can a movie clip and recreate a new DVD? What would be the simplest way of doing this?
    Thanks for the help!!

  • Help importing .aac files

I am trying to import about 40 ringtone files (from Nokia N97 zip file I found) but iTunes isn't playing nice.
The files are in .aac format (they play in quicktime and realplayer) but when I try to select file>add-to-library in iTunes I get nothing. No error message, no nothing. Just a quick almost in-perceivable blip and that's it.
I'm no audio pro keep in mind. Any thoughts? Are these encrypted files and if so, how do I convert and import.
I want COOOOOOL (not that the Nokia ones are the best in the world either) ringtones on my new iPhone not these crap ones.
    Any help is much appreciated!!

  • Help importing WMV files with 4 audio tracks....

    Hello,
I am using a PC to run a robot show. The show runs off of WMV files recorded with 4 audio tracks.
The "front" audio tracks are the left and right chanels for sound.
The "rear" audio tracks are the signals the show runs off of.
(If you want to see the show... it's here http://www.yorkmiss.com/Curtains.wmv
I run the audio files using the windows media player and as you can see... it works fine.
However, I would like to use the I-tunes player since I can then controld the show remotely using my I-Touch.
The problem is that every time I import one of the audio file into I-tunes, it converts it to a new type of file that "blends" the front and rear chanels of audio together.
I've tried every different option in the import prefrences list - and they all have the same result.
Does anyone know a way of playing the files "as-is" without converting them, or is there a way of converting them I do not know about?
Here's an example of one of the files:
    http://www.yorkmiss.com/ShowbizKylesmom_504.wma
Any help or suggestions would be welcome and appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Beth

Yes, I understand that now... but is there a way to convert to those file types while still preserving the 4 seperate audio chanels?
    Thanks, Beth

  • Need Help Importing Video Files Into Premiere Pro 1.5

    Hello,
I recently bought a JVC Everio with the built in hard drive so need for capturing anymore. Anyway, when I went to import the footage that I recorded on the camera, Premiere says "File Format Not Supported". When I dragged the clips off of the JVC's harddrive each clip had two files one type was a .MOI and the other type of clip said MOV and the clip number like MOV042 for clip number 42. Do I need some type of video converter to open these in Premiere? I can't even import them in Windows Movie Maker, they don't need to be great quality or anything just some music performance clips I wanted to throw on Youtube. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jason

After my "learning session," I also thought of another resource for you. Besides the PE forum (in the old days, I know that they had a FAQ on the JVC files, but I do not think that it has been restored yet), you might want to post to the "Community" area, basically their fora, over at Muvipix. I know that there has been much discussion on the JVC files there, and believe that several forum members use those cameras. Might be some easy steps to convert your files so that PrPro can use them properly.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS you do not need to subscribe to post/read. That is for the "premium" Functional Content and for some of the articles and tutorials that are not free.

  • Help importing music files to iTunes?

All of my music is on my Windows Media Player, and I cannot simply drag and drop. and the files are not found in my music file either. So how can I get these file onto my iTunes?

    Dont Panic wrote:
All my music is on Windows Media Center, Not a streaming service.
Is there another place to find/get the music files from it. I only have itunes in my music folder.
Windows Media Center normally (always?) uses music managed by Windows Media Player. This is certainly the case with Media Center 2005 and Windows Media Player. (I have not got Vista, and while I have Windows 7, I have not yet installed it).
Therefore I suggest launching Windows Media Player to see all your music, and checking where WMP says the music files are located. Once you have established that, check to see if they are protected by Microsoft's ghastly "Plays for Sure" DRM, if it is then give up. If it is not, then tell iTunes to import the folder(s) that WMP says the music is in.
Note: iTunes for Windows can import MP3, WAV, AIFF, WMA (unprotected), and of course AAC, and Apple Lossless.
I have all my music in Apple Lossless and shared between iTunes, Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center 2005, and can also use it with Roku Soundbridge, Apple TV, and my iPhone. (Yes it is possible to get WMP and Media Center to play Apple Lossless.)
