Help! Importing from Macbook and mysterious numbers!
When I import video from my macbook pro that's longer than a min there is a weird number at the front of the film strip and the audio and visual are syncing up? It's never done this before and the footage without the numbers don't have the audio problem. The number varies from 18 to 27? I didn't film differently or change the fps? What's the deal?

I need help importing navigation bars and rollover buttons from fireworks?
I need help importing navigation bars and rollover buttons from fireworks, drop down menus and rollover states won't work!
ThanksIn my experience, the code created by graphics apps is less than satisfactory. And image based menus are very awkward for several reasons.
#1 If you decide to change your menu later, you must go back to your graphics app and re-craft the whole thing. After 2-3 times of this, it gets old in a hurry.
#2 Image based menus cannot be "seen" by search engines, screen readers and language translators.
#3 CSS styled text menus are better for your site's visibility, accessibility and they are a snap to edit in Dreamweaver.
That said, if you're still married to image based menus, use Fireworks to create images only. Use Dreamweaver's Image Rollover Behaviors to create your rollover scripts.

hello.
I recently purchased a macbook pro, and is, and learn some things. and I have apple tv, and the question is can I send a movie from macbook and surf the Internet simultaneously without interrupting the movie?Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can't do that in AirPlay Mirroring. AirPlay Mirroring can only mirror your MacBook's display, so you can't do one thing in your Mac's display and another in the TV.
This is a feature that will arrive in Mavericks. Read > http://www.apple.com/osx/preview -
Generating a PDF from a OTF (imported from CLOSE_FORM) and send it by mail.
Hello!
I have a problem.
I'll try to explain it toy you.
I have a SapScript that the user has the option to send it to the printer or have a Print Preview. I need to send it by mail in PDF format.
If the user select PRINT, a spool id is created, I can get the OTF, generate the PDF and send it by mail. Everything OK with that.
The problem is if the user select PRINT PREVIEW I don't get a spool id. So, what I did is to get the OTF from the CLOSE_FORM MF and generate de PDF from there. I tried several FM to generate the PDF but for sure I'm doing something wrong, because or the PDF is corrupted or I have a problem with the parameters in the SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 FM.
So, what I need it: Generate a PDF from a OTF imported from CLOSE_FORM FM and send it by mail.
Examples or the FM I can use are welcome.
I tried to do search here, but I couldn't find anything that may help me..
So, please... Show me the light!!!
Thanks!!!

Has anyone ever imported a song from Itunes and deleted the first part of the song so that it starts at a certain location?
Sure. Drag the song into your Project from the Music Browser and drop it on the clip where you want it to start. It should appear as a ribbon underneath your video clips. You can then drag the left edge if the clip to the right, until it starts where you want it to.
This video Tutorial may help.
http://www.apple.com/findouthow/movies/imovie08.html#audioclips
Another way. Once you drag in the music clip, click the gear icon on the clip to open the clip trimmer. You can change where the clip starts there.
See iMovie Help here for all the details.

Import from CSV and vice versa
Please help me to find how a CSV file can be imported to Oracle 10g DB using ODP.NET provide in VB.NET.I saw an option in OLEDB that the Datasource is given as textfile to be read and OLEDBDataadaptor is reading data from textfile and updating to the DataSet.Is there any such option in ODP.NET??Please help me.
Thanks in Advance
SarithaI would suggest:
1) Using the StreamReader to consume each line of the csv
2) Then use the the "Split()" string method on each line returned as a string to parse the values into an array
3) Load each array value appropriately into a stored procedure/function and execute through a OracleCommand object
4) Loop through each line returned in the StreamReader to do the same (until EOF)
5) Wrap the whole thing in a OracleTransaction object and perform Rollback()/Commit() as appropriate considering the return values of the executed Procedures/Functions (break loop and Rollback() on error thrown).
It's not one stop shopping but I don't think that you can just cram a text file into the ODP and expect it to try and make an import (I could be wrong). -
I have a simple question to you guys (tried to sort it out with Apple tech support but no luck there!)
How can I set up iPhoto in a way that I can have access to the same files from iPhoto on MacBook and from iPhoto app on iPad? I do not wish to sync files as this will create a copy of a file and also when for example you do editing of an image on Mac you want that to automatecly reflect on a file being viewed later on on iPad (and the other way around) without the need of a sync. option
I tested this with photo stream but the problem there is that in order to make any changes to an image you HAVE to do it in the library folder you can not do it in the photostream i.e you took a pix on your iPhone, - photostream pushed it to your iPad and to your Mac, - you've desided to let's say to crop the image on Mac then you've closed that image. When then you open the same image on your iPad (or iPhone) the image is not cropped, why? becouse you've edited an image inside the iPhoto library on the Mac and didn't sync it with iPad.
So it would be great if iPhone and Mac worked with the same library - save space and cleaner workflow! And again
there is no solution today
You can not - there is no commonality between iPhoto on the Mac and on the iPad except the name
You can sync - you can use PhotoStream - you can not share a library - and IOS devices can not access external hard drives and if they could they can not read the contents of the iPhoto library since there is no commonality between iPhoto on the Mac and on the iPad except the nameYou can put your iPhoto library on an external drive if you wish as long as the volmne it is on is formattted Mac OS extended (journaled) - but that does not change the fact that neither the iPad nor the iPhone can access it since there is no commonality between iPhoto on the Mac and on the iPad except the nameIt really is extremely simple - you can not do it today

Importing from vinyl and tapes
I am about to buy my first iPod, a shuffle. What is the best way to import music from vinyl records, and cassette tapes? How do I do it exactly?
A lifetime of music and recrded material to be transfered.
Thanks. One way is to connect your Turntable/Cassette deck (through the Tape out sockets of your amplifier) to the audio in socket of your computer. On the computer you'll need audio editing software to capture and edit the resulting long file into individual tracks that can be added to the iTunes Library. There are a number of commercial programs for this (I use Sound Studio for the Mac but there are Windows programs). If want to try out the process first you could try the open source program Audacity which has Linux, Mac and Windows versions at this link: Audacity
In addition to the software you'll need RCA to 3.5 mm audio plug cables to connect the Tape Out sockets of your amplifier to the audio inputs of your computer. There's a short guide to recording here: How to record from vinyl and cassette to a computer also from the BBC Copying Vinyl Recordings to CD
If your Mac or PC hasn't got an audio in socket you can have a look at the Griffin iMic which connects to a USB port and comes with some software of it's own: iMic USB audio interface -
Import from DVD and external HD
Totally new to Photoshop Elements 11. Watched tutorial videos, but still don't know how to import photos from my external HD. I search for file on E: drive and select Get Media, but all I get is the photo (have to Search to find it). The file is still on my E: and I don't see how to import a copy of the photo to my C: drive
The catalog does not contain picture files. It only contains their location (drive and full path). So, when you 'get files from files and folders' you are only registering their location and properties (metadata) in a database.
If you want your pictures files to be transferred physically on another drive (the internal C: drive for instance), the organizer lets you physically move selected picture files to any location you wish. The easiest way to do this is to move folders or folder trees to another location by drag and drop in the 'Pictures' view. You can also select files in the browsing space and use the 'file' menu to 'move' the selected files where you want. -
Just a few quirks on Import from Elements and Keywords.
The Import from Elements seems like a good idea but the implementation is a little 'hit and miss'.
Tags in Elements (the Keywords) are not always picked up in LR. I can't work out what works and what doesn't but some Tags and the Tag Hierarchy come over correctly and some don't.
Version sets from Elements seem to be ignored. I suspects Stacks will as well.
Also I'm finding the use of Keywords a little restrictive in LR now that I have to sort out my imported images.
1. I'd like to be able to delete an Image when I have selected it by keyword - (yes Sid did provide a work around, thanks) but it really should just be a question of hitting delete.
2. I'd like to be able to stack images when I have selected them by keyword. You can't do this unless you go to Folder View or All Photographs.
I kind of get the impression that the way in LR works is great if you are going forward from a clean install. That is downloading images, reviewing, culling and organising. However, if you have an existing database to straighten out, then LR needs a little bit of polish to make this process easier.
Colin#2 is about the only one I can offer any advice on. First of all, I'd go to Download -> Multimedia -> TV@nywhere Master and make sure that I had the latest version of the TV@nywhere Master Driver and MSI Radio.
Secondly, you could probably silence MSI Radio by opening the Windows volume control (or whatever it's called in your version of windows) and muting whatever input you're using to feed sound from the TV@nywhere Master to your sound card. On my system MSI Radio will actually un-mute Line In when I run it and re-mute when I exit.
Thirdly, when MSI Radio does misbehave and not shut up on exit, I can usually get it to hush by running and then exiting MSI PVS aka WinDVR.
Fourthly, I've noticed that my MSI Radio only fails to shut up if I click the Settings button while it is running. Once I get the settings set, it doesn't give my any more problems as long as I can resist doublechecking my settings.
Correction: one problem. It always mutes my master recording balance when it runs, meaning that anything I record with MSI Radio or PVS will be nothing but silence. I have no idea what that's about. -
4.0 EA3 import from designer and database leads to differences in compare models
Hello,
I followed two ways to import a model in Data Modeler:
1 - an import from Oracle Designer
2 - an import from the database generated on basis from Oracle Designer
Then I compare the two models in Data Modeler, and found differences ...
One of the differences is in Table check constraints. The text is the same when viewing it in the compare model.
So I opened the corresponding XML files for the tables and compared the XML for the constraint text. And there are differences:
example:
<rule>(file_locatie is not null and file_naam_org is not null) or<br/>(file_locatie is null and file_naam_org is null)</rule>
<rule>(file_locatie is not null and file_naam_org is not null) or<br>(file_locatie is null and file_naam_org is null)</rule> <<-- designer
the design imported from designer contains br, the databse imported version contains br/
This should not be considered during comparision, or better: boths imports should use the same way of formatting.
JoopThe Rule specification is not re-formatted in Data Modeler code; it is stored as extracted from the database.
For Oracle Database, the Rule is extracted using SQL of the form SELECT search_condition FROM dba_constraints/all_constraints WHERE constraint_type = 'C';
For Oracle Designer, the Rule is extracted using SQL like SELECT txt_text FROM rm_text_lines WHERE txt_type = 'CDWHCL';
Are you able to tell how your Table Check Constraint is represented (with respect to the 'br') in your Database and Designer?

HELP I can't import from WMP and customer service people are retards
I've used Itunes before to upload songs to my husbands ipod and I've always used windows media player. I just click, drag, and drop the files... but now it won't work. I've ripped a few cds and got some songs from limewire, which is what we've always done. Now I can't get them to import to itunes at all. I called the customer support line and the guy I spoke to was a real jerk. He told me it's because some cd's have copyrights and those must be the ones I'm trying to upload. I thought all cd's had that?!?!?! Not just that, but the Cd's I ripped I had done before and put it on my husbands ipod, it just won't work with mine. When I told him I didn't think the copyright thing was the issue he told me that he's been doing this for a while and he would know. UHHH. He told me there is no way to get these songs onto itunes. But I know that's crap because I've done it before, it just won't do it the same way. Then he told me that I could uninstall itunes, and reinstall it and it would pull all the files on my computer. So I did that, BUT when it pulled the files... it only pulled 30 out of the 98 I had previous had in itunes before uninstalling it. Now I can't get those to import to itunes either. I also asked him about an error message I recieved. When I open itunes it says that the software for burning cds didn't download because of other burning software. He told me that it was because of windows media player and that I should take it off of my computer and reinstall itunes again. I'm sorry... but I'm not taking WMP of my computer! Can anyone help??? I would like to have more songs on my ipod, but since what I normally do isn't working and the people at support are jerks, I'm stuck! HELP!
Sorry I wasn't very clear in my original question. My goal is to print from an executable on a computer which does not have Labview 8.5 installed (It does have the runtime engine installed). The printer is connected locally to this machine and I'm trying to print three lines of text by creating a new report, printing it, then closing it, all using the report generation tools.
I'm desiginating the printer by just using a text control wired to the printer name input of the print report vi. I havn't wired the output of the queary printers to the print report vi, but I have copied and pasted this text manually to make sure the name was right.
How do I build a debuggable exe to check for errors? This sounds useful!
I have found a work around for this problem, which was to create an installer for the executable and include every single additional installer. I'm not sure which one it needed, but my executable worked after this was installed.
Do you have any idea which additional installer was needed as creating a 1 gig install file and installing this on multiple machines takes a lot of time!
Thanks for your help,
Philip. -
I just bought a new iMac and I thought that it would be simple to migrate from my MacBook.
I have a time machine back-up so I decided to migrate using that. Everything seemed to instal pretty well with the exception of mail. To begin with I had 2 mail icons, then I started to read some forums and checked that i had the one I wanted in the applications folder, deleted the other and then downloaded the new operating system. Mail had to be force quit first and even when the download was complete Mail still wouldn't open or run. The only thing I can do is compose a new message, but I can't see my inbox at all.
It's really frustrating and I would love to know in a simple step by step guide how to get mail up and running with my existing migrated emails in it.
If anyone can give me some advice that would be great.
thanks in advance.
HProblems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
First, empty the Trash.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 -o -acl \) 2> /dev/null | wc -l
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
The output of this command, on a line directly below what you entered, will be a number such as "41." Please post it in a reply.
