this thing has brought me nothing but frustration, and too add to it, i lost my old ipod and cant work the touch that i got as a gift for christmas.
when i plug it in, nothing happens, the ipod itself just beeps twice, and then nothing.. the very first time i plugged in my ipod "new device" pop ups were shown in the botton right corner of my main screen, the ipod does not show in my computer or my itunes ( YES I HAVE THE LATEST VERSION ) ive followed all the "ipod troubleshooting" tips off the website, and still nothing happens, ive been told to register is, and to register, ive been told to "follow on-screen instructions" but NOTHING shows up on the screen, nothing happens when i plug it my ipod, except, it chargers and beeps.. i can acess itunes from my ipod and do everything else, i just can add anything to it, its completely useless to me... SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!

Try System Profiler (Applications - Utilities) to see if your computer is even recognizing the iPod at all)

SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!I was having the same problem with my iPod Touch and my XP machine. I'd plug in my ipod touch and itunes wouldn't recognize it no matter what I did. After having to reset and restore the ipod (which clears the disk) a few times. I found another way to get it going. The problem was with itunes and not the ipod. I opened up the Task Manager and found that while the itunes application was closed it was still running in the processes, if I closed it there then it would recognize the touch again. Once I had it back up, I turned off the "Open iTunes When This iPod Is Connected" option and haven't had a problem since. Also, always be sure to properly eject the touch through iTunes before unplugging it, as that might create the same problem.

Hi. I forgot my passcode and now I am unable to unlock my ipod. I tried restoring it using itunes in recovery mode as well as dfu mode but it says unable to restore,unknown error occured (3004). Please help me out. My ipod is locked for one hour now.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help

I am getting the error message "No AirPort card installed" Restarting my iMac desktop does not solve this (Apple help says I need to reset the SMC this way, but nothing changes). Can somebody advise, please?
Thanks for the flag J.K. - they contaced me and solved my problem. On this account (which I created just to ask this question), I log in with my email rather than my user name (mtalldud). On the account that I was having trouble with, they told me to use my user ID instead of my email to log in and it worked. This is a bit confusing and seems a bit inconsistent but at least I don't need this temporary account any more to get into this community and find answers!

I am using QTP 9.2 and Flex 3 add-in available from Adobe.
My application has flex Advanced datagrid object and I am
trying to read column names for the datagrid.
I have contacted developers and they told me that column
names for flex advanced datagrid are stored in "Header Text"
I have tried reading "Header Text" using
GetROProperty("HeaderText") but it doesn't return anything.
I have tried the following code:

My primary reason for getting column names is to write a
function to update cell in datagrid independent of application. So,
I want to pass column name as a parameter to the function and get
the corresponding columnIndex in the function by comparing the
parameter value against column names.

My story:I just got a new ipod video 60 gb a few days ago. i installed everything and it was up to date. I have a pc with windows xp home edition. when i pluged it in all it did was make a sound like it reconized it. I spent hours uninstalling and reinstalling the updater and itunes. My sister had a ipod mini which worked still. I took it back to the store and it was fine on the macs there. The guy restored it but when i got home it still didnt work. I then had to got to N.Y. the next day. I kept tring and still nothing. I went down to soho and all they did there was what i already did. They told me to reinstall windows. two days later two of my uncles came and they didnt know how to fix it. but one of y uncles noticed that when you go to control panel and system and then hardwear and then device manager there was an ipod with an extension of a ipod in yellow with a ? mark. My uncle said that its the driver which is bad. They couldnt help me anymore. The next day i was like okay im going to figue this out. I unistalled everything including itune quick time and updater. Then i reinstalled it. Still nothing. But when you plug it in the first time it pops up with a new device and stuff like that and it pops up a page saying to install new device select where you want to install it from either a list or your computer. I then selected from my own location or the second option. i looked for the driver all trhough my c drive, under programfiles, derivers nothing. i then was angry and was like whatever i might as well try i386 cause i know theres a lot of stuff in there. it went to the page with the magnafying glass and then it start to load or install a mass storage device. then it said i need the service pack 2 disk which i did not have cause my computer came with it. i then searched the web for where it was located but nothing. i then saw it said i need usbstor.sys driver so i then searched the web and nothing. i then thought i should search the computer with the search on the start menu. i seared for usbstor.sys and a few folders poped up. i then located where it was and browsed to the fold where it ask me if i need service pack 2 disk and clicked ok it did some more installing and then the ipod said do not disconnect. i was so happy. but itunes didnot reconize but my computer did. i then restored it and then restarted my computer. it then took a few seconds to reconize it in itunes but then it work!! i was syked.
Instructions:
1: plug in ipod
2: go to control panel. system. hardwear. device manager.

HELP ME i need to pass String variables from one Frame to another
I need help with some code.
i need to pass a set of string values from one frame to another.
from the mainscreen i need to pass what type of seats the user has requested this is done by radio buttons. i need this information to then be passed onto the next frame called Mydialog1 and placed in a textbox with label st. it dosn't comple and i don't know why
this is getting me depressed. I need some serious help with this

Help!!! my ipod classic not yet one year old and the screen is blank...
i was playing vortex while it just shutdown. i thought it was just low on batteries so i charged it overnight, then the next day it still wont turn on. i tried to restart it by pressing the play and the select button at the same time but still wont turn on. i tried to plug it and upload some songs hoping that it will restart but still nothing... blank!!!!! help this is my second ipod already in a span of 2years.. help!!

What happened to mine : I was listening music while playing WoW and after I shut it down it stopped working.
Couldn't use it the other morning and I could'nt upload any songs.
So yes it thought the same as you , plugged it in to see if the battery was low but it wasn't.
I just stopped reacting.
My Itunes doesn't seem to recognise it anymore.
Could anyone give a quick solution or answer to this problem ?

Got Nano? Need Car adapter? Read this.
Like many here, I have been unable to get my Nano to work with any of the many car adapters I own. Last night my daughter was at an Apple store and was told the "Kensington Digital Fm Transmitter/auto charger" would work with the Nano. Despite my doubt I spent another $80 bucks and low and behold it actually works right out of the box. This is the first of four adapters I have tried. Sound quality is excellent. The only drawback is no cradle for it to sit in. But, that can be a DYI setup as far as I'm concerned.
I also just figured something out. I synced my ipod nano with my work computer and my home computer. I was trying to reformat the ipod on the home computer but the sync was created with the work computer. Resync with the work computer and did a format. Removed from work computer before entering name and resynced back with my home computer. everythings working now.

Hi, i went to sync and back up my iphone 3GS as i ahve done many times before, it encountered an OS problem and put the phone into a restore mode. Now i havnt had this happen before, it has the USB cord with itunes logo on screen, cant get the phone to do anything else. When i plug it in it says i have to restore.. But will i then as i suspect loose my 600 new work photos, data, games progress, work notes, new contacts etc as i suspect i will? please someone tell me no and there is something i can do to avoid this.

Our wireless system is completely off our internal network. Its on its own cable broadband connection. The only thing that can touch our lightweight AP's is our wireless server that has 2 NIC cards. One NIC has an ip just to manage the AP's on there seperate c2960 switch and the other NIC has an internal IP so we can remotely manage. How can I hook up these phones so it can reach our internal voice LAN without compromising the network. I have attached a diagram of our wireless setup. I was told i have to use one of the gigabit ports on the switch the AP's connect through and connect it to my ASA box. Please advise. Thank You.

As things stand, you can't.
In order to make this work, you have to make a connection between your TOCWirelessSwitch and your internal LAN.
Now, there are obviously ways to make this as secure as possible- using an ASA and/or ACLs would be the obvious choices- but you will no longer have the complete physical isolation that you do now.
Of course, you would put your wireless phones on a separate SSID and VLAN from your data traffic, and make sure that the only traffic allowed to cross the new connection is restricted to the phone addresses and the specific ports your voice traffic uses. -
Computer Crash lead to severe...Duplicate message: please read this one!
Hi folks....I've already spoken to someone at Apple today who suggested Apple cannot advise because they only advise when a customer has a MAC. So I e-mailed my problem to the Microsoft support forum and they told me that is wrong; that this is an iTunes problem/question and that Apple should be the ones who help me out.
So here's the problem: my computer crashed which meant I had to reinstall iTunes; I tried to sync my iPod/iphone (not that I want everything on my iphone/iPod wiped off, but we'll come to that later!). Anyways, when I plugged my iPod in (it has all the playlists that I lost when my hard drive was wiped clean...I presume I lost them because I don’t see any playlists in the music library on my external hard drive) I got the message “this iphone is synced with another library”. Apparently, since the crash and the reinstallation of iTunes, the iPod can no longer sync with iTunes.
What I don't understand is what this actually means, because the guys who repaired my hard drive had backed up all my data on an external drive, so I do have my original iTunes library on an external hard drive. So essentially, my iTunes library does still exist, but I'm not sure what iTunes is not recognising, etc. And I've spent most of today creating new playlists from the ones on my iPod so I have "sort of" been building my iTunes library back up again.
My main question is two-fold: 1) the Contacts on my iphone are up to date (though not all of them are on my computer); is it possible to sync my iphone (if I am ever able to do that again without losing these Contacts)? and 2) is it possible to “re-establish a relationship" between iTunes and my iphone such that the iphone does recognise the iTunes library as my original library?
I really do not want to sync the two until I am sure everything on my phone will not be wiped off-I have work-related Contacts on it, etc.
The Apple person who I spoke to earlier today suggested I may be able to find a tech guy (Windows) who may be able move/shift “Program files” from the external hard drive where iTunes library is backed up (old iTunes files and folders) to new system/iTunes library to get old info back so that phone/iPod recognises it’s old iTunes library and not new one.
What I fail to understand is: why did she suggest I get some tech person to do that-surely I can do that if it is just a matter of importing all my music back into iTunes or is it more complicated than that? I also wonder if it has to be an exact replica of the original library? I don't quite get what they mean; what is it that differentiates "old" iTunes library from new “empty” iTunes library? Why, even though my music was imported back into iTunes when I reinstalled iTunes today is my iPod not being recognised by this library? Granted, I stopped using my iPod about a year ago and so my music library on my hard drive/that was in iTunes before computer crash was more up to date (and fuller/more complete) than what is on my iPhone. Does any of this matter? I am providing as much info. so that you can help me.
So, coming back to my question: what is it that differentiates "old" iTunes library from new “empty” iTunes library: is it the fact that iTunes was wiped from my computer drive when they replaced the drive, or is it the fact that some music that is in my iTunes library now, may not have been before and therefore the message I get is “this iPod is synced with another library”. Any thoughts on how to avoid losing everything on my iphone/being able to sync again whilst having iTunes recognise my other devices (phone, iPod)?

Make sure you have a backup of that incase anything goes wrong.
Anyway - most of the stuff you mentioned, such as artist names, etc should have been written directly to the song file itself in the ID3 tags. -

I have a HP 6980 deskjet that I attach via usb to my macbook when I need to print. Everything has been working fine for a year now except yesterday it gives me a message "problem printing to printer, please check that the printer is chosen in the print centre......" this is not exact but pretty close. I can post the exact message later when I am at home and can check it. Does anyone have any idea what may have caused this to happen so randomly? I never did install a driver or the CD because when I plugged the printer in, it was just there automatically (which I thought was just awesome). Anyway - any help will be much appreciated
Tried to install the driver from CD and I got the message " The software to be installed requires administrator or higher level access privileges" I had the right password and have installed other software - what's up with this.
I tried to add the printer again after removing it from my list. This is the message I get when I try to add the printer - "An error occurred while trying to add the selected printer successful - ok - cnflicting attributes.
This is the error message I would receive when the printer was available before I removed it - Word cannot print due to a problem with the current printer. Make sure you have a printer selected in print centre. You may need to print again or adjust your printer settings.
I haven't had one problem in the year that I have had this printer and it is not a problem with the printer as it will work when connected to other computers. HELP PLEASE!!no replies...
