Help in estimating number of dialogue steps for portal user scenarios

I am looking for your expert advice in determining the number of dialogue steps for SAP portal users in the following scenarios:
1) External users accessing a SAP portal to access utilities services such as viewing bills, paying bills, update meter readings etc. The system needs to support 6000 concurrent users.
2) Internal users (customer service agents) accessing IS-U, CRM (potentially BW) via an internal SAP portal. The system needs to support 2000 concurrent users. .
It would be extremely helpful to hear from anyone that has been involved in SAP portal implementations who could advise me on number of dialogue steps to use for each user scenario.

    Important Settings that Determine the Extended Classic Scenario
    The following settings are required for the extended classic scenario:
    u2022 At least one backend materials management system and accounting system is connected to the SAP SRM system and defined in the configuration setting Define Backend Systems.
    u2022 Product categories from the backend procurement system are replicated and used in the SAP SRM system.
    u2022 The target system for each product category is the backend system in the configuration setting Define Backend Systems for Product Category. Optionally, BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS is implemented to determine the backend system.
    u2022 The extended classic scenario is activated in the configuration setting Activate Extended Classic Scenario. Alternatively, BAdI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI is implemented to control the extended classic scenario based on customer defined rules.
    u2022 If the backend system is an SAP R/3 version lower than 4.6B, you must define local purchasing organizations and purchasing groups.
    u2022 If the backend system is an SAP R/3 version 4.6B or higher, you need to map the purchasing group used in the purchase order to the backend purchase group in one of the following ways:
    u2022 Use a backend purchasing organization and purchasing group in the shopping cart and purchase order.
    u2022 Use BAdI BBP_PGRP_FIND to determine a backend purchasing group in the shopping cart.
    u2022 If a local (created in SAP SRM without reference to a backend system) purchasing group and purchasing organization are used, then a valid backend purchasing group is assigned to the RFC user that created the backend purchase order. This assignment is made in the backend system using user parameter EKG in Transaction code SU01.
    u2022 Implement the user exit of the BAPIs BAPI_PO_CREATE1 (EXIT_SAPL2012_001 and EXIT_SAPL2012_003), and BAPI_PO_CHANGE (EXIT_SAPL2012_002 and EXIT_SAPL2012_004) to determine the purchasing group with a customer- specific logic.

    I have some set of users who usually send bulk emails outside. I need to increase the value for these users for"Maximum number of recipients" as 999.

    Really sorry for providing the wrong value on MaxRecipientEnvelopeLimit in my previous post.
    The default value for MaxRecipientEnvelopeLimit is 5000

    The MaxRecipientEnvelopeLimit parameter specifies the maximum number of recipients in a message. The default value is 5000. The valid input range for this parameter is from 0 through 2147483647.
    If you enter a value ofUnlimited, no limit is imposed on the number of recipients in a message. Exchange treats an unexpanded distribution group as one recipient.

  • Changing the sequence of roles/groups for Portal users after Login

    Hi
    We are at EP 7.0 SP11.
    We have developed custom role for ESS, MSS, EIC and Reports etc.
    Now when all the 3 roles are assigned to any user, the sequence of the display is generally
    Employee Self Service, Manager Self Service and then EIC.
    We need to change this sequence in Dev QA and production environment for some users preferably (or for all portal users), so that the 1st page which loads in portal after user logs in , is not necessary ESS. 
    The requirement can also be considered as, we need to change the default page which displays after user logs in.
    Does someone have any idea how can we achieve this ?

  • Are licenses needed for Portal Users?

    Hi, do you need seperate user licenses for users created on the Portals Database (J2EE only) using the MSS and ESS components? We have an HR ECC5.0 system with 700 users, but only about 100 Managers will login to the Portal to do reports via the MSS component. I thought of creating these 100 managers on the Portal (Database Only), and then using Single Sign-On with SAP Logon Tickets connect them to the HR ABAP system where they also have the same user accounts, thus enabling them to do their work seemlessly. I don't want to use the ABAP User Persistence model, as I don't want the Portal UME to pull in all 700 users from the HR ABAP system when we only maintain 100 managers on the Portal for the MSS component. Will user licensing be an issues?

    There is no need to license your Portal users.  The ABAP license is all that is required.  I would check with SAP just to make sure that your license agreement doesn't contradict this but I highly doubt that it will.

    Hello Swapna,
    FBV0 depends on three authorization objects:
    F_BKPF_BUK (Authorizations for posting for a particluar company code)
    F_BKPF_BUP (Authorizations for posting for an authorization group)
    F_BKPF_GSB (Authorizations for posting for a particular business area).
    F_BKPF_BUP will come into picture only if you are maintaining values in the field authorization group in transaction OB52. If you are not then this check will not be activated. Also what this authorization object checks is in which posting period is a user entitled to do postings. You may ignore this if authorization group is not being maintained because then  this authorization object is not checked. Infact it will  not be checked for any of the posting transactions like FB01 in case authorization group is not being maintained in OB52.
    Do one simple thing. Check which users have activity 01 and 77  or authorization object F_BKPF_BUK and then for F_BKPF_GSB.Here also F_BKPF_BUK is the actual critical object. Infact in SAP implementations with FI/CO modules security autditors will always keep an eye of this authorization object.

    Which scenarios can be used in such landscape?

    I recommend you to use proxys in your landscape as you want to interchange messages between
    different clients in the same system.

    after ur basis guy shares that folder.for testing what u can do is just ask the basis guy to take the remote access to the XI server and from there try to access the path mentioned ...if u are able to access it means that the sender file channel in the NFS mode will work as well
    also u can try pinging the portel server from the XI server after the basis guy takes the remote..
    Also be sure that XI only understands XML and the file taht u want XI to read is txt file so u will have to use a extra feature in the sender file channel called FCC or file content conversion ....forum is full of how to write FCC ..u can search

    I have to do some coding in my variable exit. I have followed the follwing steps to create a project a write the code. Anyone please confirm if my steps are correct or missing anything.
    1. Go to CMOD, give project name and Click on create.
    2. Enhancements -> give RSR00001. and click on Components.
    3. Double click on 'EXIT_SAPLRRS0_001'. This will bring up the functionmodule in which we can find an include.
    4. Double click on 'ZXRSRU01' Include.
    5. Press Enter for the warning message.
    6. It gave me a message saying that 'the Include doesnot exist, Do you want to create it'. Click Yes. This will bring up a blank ABAP editor.
    7. Write the required code using CASE Statement.
    Am I missing anything here?
    I would be grateful if someone can send me any documents relating to the variable User Exits.

    There is, but it isn't due to PI. It is a function of the WLC itself.
    Under Security, there is a Concurrent User Login, set to 0(which is default) it is unlimited logins. This value can be changed to be the number of concurrent logins that work for your situation.
    Be advised, this is not a Per WLAN setting, it is a controller wide setting.
