I'm begginer in Java2. I got books to study but they don't include practical exercises or assignments. I find it easy to work through the topics if you do some practical work. Where can I find materials to study that include all of this? Thanks in advance.

I use the book "Java in a Nutshell" and I also bought the "Examples" Book.
You can also try out the online sun tutorials, they are good.

You could jump start the process with an Avery MS Word 8-up business card template as a free download. Either version of Pages will digest it nicely. Once you load it into Pages, do a File > Save As Template.. , add it to Chooser, and give it your name choice. Both versions of Pages will remove the printer registration marks in all four template corners. The free LibreOffice Writer retains them.

1. Name, which has fields:
    - String lastname
    - String firstname
2. Address, which has fields:
    - int stnum
    - String street
    - String city
    - String postalCode
3. PassengerRecord, which has fields:
    - int passengerID

    - Address passengerAddr
4. Passengers, which has fields:
    - int numpassengers
    - PassengerRecord[] passRecords
5. TrainStation, which has fields:
    - String trainStationName
    - Address trainStationAddr
    - Passengers passengerRecs
The main routine, in class MainClass, MUST look like this:

which creates an instance of class TrainStation,
then calls the readIn() function of that TrainStation object which will:

I would advice to divide learning into two main parts: JavaCard technology and contactless RFID cards. For JavaCard technology you can find useful articles on Sun web-site (developers.sun.com/mobility/javacard/articles/javacard1/). For contactless RFID you can find few useful books at Amazon. Regarding software you need JC development kit. How to install it there is an instrunction in JCDK user guide.
If it is not a secret what a javacard contactless card you are going to use in your work?

Help: Best Practice Baseline Package experience

All,
Can I ask for some feedback from folks who've used the Best Practice Baseline package before - I'm in a project implementing ECC 6.0 and we're planning to use this package to quickly set up and demo the system to the business. I've limited experience in config and system setup so your advice is much appreciated
Specifically my questions:
1. Has anyone used the package for a similar purpose (quick setup to demo to business)? Does it save a lot of time or should our team just configure the system manually? Are there pitfalls I should be aware of?
2. I understand a limited amount of config / master data customisation can be done and there's even a wizard. Is it effective and error-free - i.e., will I be better off by installing the base package and make changes later manually ?
3. Assuming after the demo we have firmed business requirements, which approach would be faster and easier? Configuring from scratch vs. using existing BP baseline then doing delta configuration?
4. Does the documentation tell me exactly what was configured and the settings used?

Metamodel Concept

this is the first time am ENTERING into WORLD of WORKFLOW...where i have been looking for.
i am a ABAP programmer where i have been doing it for 5years am ABAP CIRTIFIED...and now i want to LEARN : WF.
at my office we have workflow...and my query is...
can i practice the workflow on it...if i do will i cause any problems to it?
i went through your forums and i have enough INFO to learn WF - self ....but once i start will i be causing any problems?

can i have some info with regards to it...

Hi,
You are on the right track. There are lots of tutorials in SDN & Internet - just spend some time on searching them. BIT601 is also fine for learning, but I think that you cannot do all the exercises since the require some custom objects, which you won't have in your system.
You will not break anything, if you don't modify the existing workflows. So just create new workflows from scratch, or copy the existing ones and modify the copies - the same rules apply as for example as with any ABAP object. => Do not modify anything, unless you are sure what you are doing.
