Help in uninstalling CS2

I want to uninstall a student version of CS2 and install a student version of CS4 Design Premium on my Mac MIni. I've never done an uninstall before, is there an easy way to do this? Thanks!

First thing is to goto HELP (at the top) and Deactivate (this deactivates the license).
There should be an uninstaller program for Acrobat in the Acrobat folder so run that for that one, then the for the rest you simply put the folders in the bin and delete (not sure if there could be an uninstaller program on the orginal disk though?!).
Or I prefer to use and app called Appzapper http://www.appzapper.com/ it gets all the other files like prefs etc aswell.
Hope that helps!

  • Help needed uninstalling PS CS2 & CS3

Hi, I have PS v7, CS2 & Creative Suite 3 design Premium on my late 2004 Mac iBook.
After I installed Creative suite I used it for a short while then got the message Licencin for this product has stopped working, usinstall & reinstall.
I did this 3 times & still got the same error message. I'm not sure if it's always after updating or even before.
I needed to use PS while CS3 was stuck like that & so I opened CS2 & got the message Serious error has been detected. To continue using PS pls. uninstall & reinstall.
    I'm looking at this page
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=331404
& have trashed all the files mentioned that I have except
    3. Delete the Adobe folder from the Users/[User]/Library/Application Suppor
This folder has 19 items in including a Lightroom folder & an XMP folder that I'm thinking I might miss if I delete. Shall I delete all but these?
I've read I have to install CS2 1st before CS3 so I started uninstalling CS2 1st but I think if I uninstal CS3 with it's nice installer I can see what's left in this folder.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks.

After running the uninstaller for CS3 there are still 19 items in that Adobe folder in Applications support folder including one called Adobe Photoshop CS3 & another called Bridge CS3. The uninstaller didn't remove Acrobat 9 which had a separate install disc. There is also an Acrobat folder in that Adobe folder & an Air folder & a CS3 stock photos folder.
There is also an adobe photoshop CS3 folder still in my applications folder with plugins & samples inside.
I'm thinking to trash everything with CS3 in the name & leave the rest & hope it doesn't matter if some belong to CS2.
    Any advice?

  • I installed CS4 Web Premium, do I need to uninstall CS2? (I don't have CS3) If so, how?

I thought the installer would just upgrade my existing CS2 apps but after I installed CS4, I saw that all the CS2 apps were still there! Do I need to uninstall them manually? If so, how? Is there any danger in doing that? Or should I uninstall CS4 then uninstall CS2, then reinstall CS4???? Thanks much for any advice/help!

    Karen,
No. This is a full-version upgrade, meaning that it is a complete installation, independent of any past versions installed. Both versions can coexist and can be used.
But if you double-click on a file to launch the application, the most recent version prevails. If you prefer to have the older version default (for the current work session), launch it first, then double-click on the files to work on them.

  • Uninstall CS2 after installing CS3 -- any gotchas?

I have just installed PS-CS3(upgrade) under WinXPsp2 and would like to uninstall CS2 now. Will this create any problems with PS-CS3?
    Thanks.

    folks,
Thanks for the advice. I have been using Focus Magic. Mask Pro 4.1, and DxO. Now I am interested in Image Ready, so will check it out.
It was probably not wise to leave CS2 sit there while installing CS3 since I have many Lightroom Databases that have Preferences set for opening CS2 when editing an image outside of the program, but these all seem to have been automatically reset to CS3, at least for the first choice of two designated applications.
I wonder if I have missed an Adobe site that iterates such possible conflicts and consequences of installing CS3 without uninstalling CS2?
I have reached an age where reading software manuals is not my idea of a good time, my current copy of CS3 sitting here for 6 months before installation because I knew i would have to deal with these kinds of issues.
Your help has been invaluable as has this forum in general. THANKS.

  • Error messages appearing in CS5 after uninstalling CS2

I have Adobe CS5 for Windows. I was running out of space on my laptop, and started looking at unneeded programs to delete. I realized that although it had been years since I upgraded, I still had CS2 on the computer taking up several gigs of space, so I uninstalled each CS2 program. Since then, when I attempt to go into CS5 programs, I get error messages. For Photoshop, I get a message that says "Could not synchronize the color settings because the color settings file could not be found." When I go into Illustrator, the message is "Adobe Illustrator has detected a problem in the windows registry which needs to be corrected for Illustrator to work properly. Would you like Illustrator to correct the problem now?"  No matter if I choose yes or no, the error comes back the next time I load it.
I am able to get into Indesign fine, but when I try to print to a PDF, I get this:
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: setdistillerparams; ErrorInfo: CalCMYKProfile U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
Error accessing color profile: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
Again, all of this started when I deleted an old copy of CS2. Any idea what's going on? Any help would be appreciated!

Reinstall CS5. uninstalling CS2 has obviously messed with the PDf presets/ libraries.

Help.I uninstalled ios8 using the directions on the web site and now all my apps, mail are gone.I backed up to iTunes first but when I try to sync to get everything back,it starts and then says it has failed. What do I do now.Thanks.Jane

The first time an iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or to set up the iPhone as a new iPhone.
The former does as provided - it transfers the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device to the iPhone replacing all data on the iPhone that is included with the backup being transferred. The latter does nothing allowing you to make your various selections for the iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
This is designed to be done right away with a new iPhone.
If you don't have a backup for the iPhone with iTunes on your computer and don't have an iCloud backup that hasn't been updated since choosing to transfer the backup for your iPod Touch to the iPhone, the data that was on the iPhone is gone.

reinstall over your current installation and then uninstall, Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
or uninstall manually, Manually remove Adobe Creative Suite 2.x | Windows

  • Help Center in CS2 quits on startup

I had to reinstall Illustrator CS2 (v12.1) today and found that after installing, my CS2 Help Center did not work. The window appears, then quits suddenly. I tried moving the Prefs and .plist for it to the desktop, but it did not help. It also does not work when launched from other CS2 apps.
Using Mac v10.4. Font utility is Font Explorer.

It has been so long that I can't remember now. I think help center in CS2 was replaced at some point. Reinstalling may have put the old one back. If it makes you feel any better Mine does not work either on my main machine.

  • I have Photoshop 6, upgrade CS2, upgrade CS5, can I uninstall CS2?

I originally bought Photoshop 6, upgraded to CS2, and upgraded that to CS5. I don't ever use CS2 and I don't see any reason to keep it. My question is, will uninstalling CS2 adversely affect Photoshop 6 or CS5 in any way? I am wondering if CS2 has to be there for CS5 to run, or if uninstalling CS2 will change or uninstall any Photoshop 6 or CS5 settings.

On Windows, at least, uninstalling one version of Photoshop has been said to goof up file association settings (I can't say because I still have all the versions installed, myself).
If that happens to you, check back here; I'm pretty sure there are posts that can be turned up with a search that will describe how to straighten that out.

  • Help me uninstall cs4 from windows

help me uninstall cs4 from windows I have cs5 and cannot open raw files thru bridge

You can also look in the Windows System Tray for the Bridge CS4 icon and right-click on it. If "Start Bridge at Login" is checked in the menu that shows up, uncheck it to stop Bridge CS4 from starting when you log into Windows, then click on "Exit Bridge."
You can then start Bridge CS5 and launch Camera Raw.

  • Uninstalling CS2 package

    Hi All,
I need to install CS3 Package on all of our Macs and therefore, need to uninstall CS2. What is the best way to uninstall CS2 completly before installing CS3?

The first way is to trash the following:
    Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS2
    Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS2 Settings
    Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CS2 Path
There are lots of other little files, that CS3 will ignore or overwrite.
The second way is to use AppZapper [(www.appzapper.com])
You can download a free trial.
Drag the CS2 app from the applications folder to the AppZapper window; it will locate everything else that needs to be removed. Then hit ZAP.
One other note; you may want to deactivate CS2 before removing it; you never know when you may want to reinstall a version of it on a machine. Especially since CS3 currently has some problems with Leopard, which will supposedly be fixed in 10.5.2.
