Help installing CS6

I have Lightroom 4 installed and just got the student/teacher edition of Photoshop CS6 extended. When I insert the disk the auto install does not open, I only have the option to open folders, open Lightroom, or play using windows.  Is there a way to open the folders and manually start the install app? or is there another selection in the computer that can needs to be turned on to allow the install to begin. 
I had to go into the control panel and make sure lightroom was not defaulted to open when disks are inserted, since even movies tried to open with lightroom, and I set it to "ask before opening" I do not know if there is something else that needs to be set up, but I do not see any reason why the installer doesn't work.

    I recently switched from a pc to a mac and have a student and teachers edition of CS6 design standard but don't know how to install it on my mac? i've done a quick search online but got confused..plus this might sound silly but I don't have a disc drive on my mac, so how does that work? Need it explained please?

    A Windows version will not work on a Mac, nor will a license generated for a Windows version.  YOu need to request a platform swap.  After the swap is approved you can download the installation files.

    InDesign CS6 is not optimized for retina displays. You’ll need to move to Creative Cloud for retina compatibility.

  • Help install photoshop CS6 adobe application manager

    I'm trying to install CS6 via the application manager. It downloads a file and then hangs at waiting to install. I've tried everything I can think of disabling virus scanner. I have CS5 installed could that be conflicting with the new software? Any ideas or help would be appreciated!!!

    Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and try again. Clean out all apps and reinstall them when needed. You could be seeing a conflict with some shared components or an update having introduced some incompatible data.

    I installed CS6 Master Collection on two computers. Now local help is no longer available. The Help Manage does open, but all I have are the help config settings, via the About menu, and nothing else (No other windows,et al):
    - General Settings
    - Download Preferences
    - Updater Settings
    - Local Content
    - About = Version 4.0.0.244
    None of the above windows are interactively configurable.Settings are inactive
    Not haveing app help is either local or online is a huge loss. What should I do?

    What you describe above works with some CS6 apps, but not all. For example help weill not render for both Premier Pro and After Effects. I did not try help activatoin for all the Master Collection CS6 apps.
    I wish that I had somehow known the Community Help had gone away with CS6. I spent the better part of an afternoon trying to make the old version of help work after installing CS6. Seems that what you guys did was a step backwords per accessing help.

    I've never heard of such a thing.
    Usually the software installs regardless of drive performance, it's just slower on a stock 5,400 drive and I fail to see why Adobe would deny all the Mac users the ability to install Cs6 based upon this limitation.
    Most Mac's came with 5,400 RPM laptop drives as they take less power.
    Ive tried to download the sofware and it fails.. I'm tearfully trying to understand if it is my computer that cannot dowload the software or is it the software that is faulty.
    It should be able to download, the software won't know what speed of the drive is until the software is run.
    I would look at a slow, hobbled or data capped Internet connection or some other issue as your problem.
    Contact the vendor, it's their money your giving them, let them solve your problem.

    I need help installing InDesign CS6 upgrade because on this new computer I cannot install the version that it was upgraded from.

    Stevel18 you can install the upgrade to Creative Suite 6 directly.  During the installation process you will be asked to enter the serial number of the product which qualifies you to own the upgrade.

    Go to Utilities > Activity Monitor, and run it.
    You will see all the running applications, processes, etc. Be careful not to end processes you don't understand, but look for "Flash" and then hit the "circle-X" icon at the page top, to force quit that process.
    Now you should be able to install CS6.

    I just downloaded and installed CS6. I input the serial #. It was validated.
    Then I opened my CS6 dreamweaver and bridge just fine.
    However, when I went to open Dreamweaver, illustrator and flash the product said I had to input a valid serial #....
    I put in the same one I had just used a minute ago- from my recent purchase.
    It says the serial is not valid.
    Can someone tell me what to do here?
