Help installing IPOD & ITUNES

Ive just brought a new video 30gb ipod, but have been unsusccessfull in trying ti install it on my pc. I keep getting a error message saying... itunes setup(1).exe is not a valid win 32 application ?
What does this mean and how do I solve it ?

Your Win32 error could mean you have some possible Windows System files or corrupted files. Run your program to check Windows.
I use Norton Systemworks program. For more info goto:
http://www.pcperformancetools.com/system32-errors.htm
Using your Window XP program to: Run ADD/REMOVE to remove ITunes software program.
Note: (ITunes Version 6 is not compatible with the new 5th Gen IPOD 2006-09.)
Then do Windows Update; get all the recent updates.
Download Windows ITunes Version 7.0 or higher.
Restart Computer: and run ITunes program alone.
Toggle the IPOD Hold Button On and Off.
Do IPOD Manual Reset by selecting:
Menu and Center button simultaneously, for about 6 seconds.
You may have to do this several times.
Re-try IPOD connection to ITunes.
Should work okay!

  • HELP PLEASE IPOD ITUNES

    Hello all,
I need desperate help on a life or death matter so any help would be much appreciated.
OK - I had my itunes (4) on my work computer I no longer have that computer or that itunes. I have all my music still stored on my ipod. How do I get all my music back into a new itunes library?? Is my ipod compatible with itunes 7? I can still activate my ipod in itunes4 but whenever I go to download music it directly takes me to itunes 7 and states it is updating my library (ahhhh and I clearly don't want it to wipe my ipod).
Hope this all makes sense and there is someone out there ho can help.
    Thanks very much
    Charlie b

OK, now I don't know what I did but I somehow deleted that whole CD ...I can't find it anywhere in my itunes or on my ipod..SO, anyway of getting it back without re-buying it again??

  • Installed IPod+Itunes onto my computer just fine, however...

When i go to open Itunes, a thing comes up saying "Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close". What do I do? I tried re-installing and the same thing happens.

    Hi megan,
A few posts on this topic, none with a whole lot of advice. Here's a post about using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot iTunes & Windows:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302538
If you can provide some details about your system set up, the version of iTunes you're using, etc., that would help.

  • Need help with ipod & itunes

    Hey everyone.
I just got a ipod video and i went to my friends house and put a whole bunch of songs on it. Well i want those songs on my ipod video onto my itunes on my home computer but i cant seem to get them on without over writting the songs on my ipod video with the songs on my itunes already, which i dont want to happen because i dont want to loose any of the songs on my ipod video. Someone please help me.

    1) go back to your friends house and put all the song files you want into a folder on his computer.
    2) plug in your ipod to his computer and enable disk use.
    3) then open it up from "my computer", you'll see a few folders like "notes", "contacts" etc.
    4) drag and drop the folder you created with all the song files. Don't put this in one of the ipod's pre-made folders.
    5) go home, open your ipod again from disk use and select the folder you made with all the song files. drag and drop this anywhere you want in your computer (I suggest putting it with where you store more music)
Lastly you need to import these songs, open itunes and select File>Add Folder to Library. you will then select the folder of music from your friends house, wherever you dropped it.
After you have added the songs to your library you are free to delete ONLY the folder you created in your iPod (with the music files from your friend).
    Hope this helps

  • Need help with ipod itunes syncing problem just occured

i restored my computer to factory settings and when i did that i lost my itunes and when i reinstalled it and tried to sync my ipod to the new installation of itunes it said that my ipod is synced with another itunes and that to sync it wiht this itunes it would delete and replace all data on my ipod with data from my itunes which is nuthing please help i dont wanna lose all my songs and apps an all that

You should have created a backup of your Itunes library before your computer restore to factory setting so that you can copy them to your new iTunes.
Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848
As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software to copy over. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

  • Help with iPod/iTunes

I'm using Ipod Nano with Itunes on a Windows XP PC.
Till now it's been working well. Today something weird happened! According to iTunes my iPod takes 14G instead of the 4G and loading music, from iTunes to iPod, takes for ever!!
What's happening? And how do I fix it?
PS, iTunes renamed my iPod. Calling it "Data" now.

Deleted everything that had with iTunes and iPod to do, and re-installed it all. Working fine now.

  • Need help installing iPod

I received my iPod shuffle, but no installation software. Where can I get it?

If you read the papers that came with your shuffle, then you'd know that you need to have iTunes installed on your computer, then you simply attach the shuffle via the included dock and let the iTunes on your computer do the software work.
Download iTunes from the Apple site and then attach the shuffle.

  • Itunes won't open, music gone after installing ipod/itunes software again

I was using itunes to purchase music and burn it to cds. I recently got a nano and tried to install the software last night. Now Itunes won't open, and I don't even see any of my downloaded music on my computer. It's possible that it's a problem with my computer, but we're also looking into the issues reported with Norton, etc. I should know more by tonight. My question is how do I get my music back if it was somehow deleted by this process? Obviously I've already purchased it, but I don't remember all the songs and I didn't have a backup.

You need to search your hard drive(s) and recycle bin for the music files.
Purchased music will always have a .m4p file extension.
Without a backup, if the files are gone, the music is gone.

  • HELP! ipod itunes differing!!!!

For some reason on my itunes a couple of albums won't play.
The message FILE COULD NOT BE LOCATED comes up.
But i still have these albums in working order on my ipod classic.
I have tried copying the current music on my ipod to the PC hard drive and then putting this into where itunes takes the music from but this hasn't worked.
Was considering deleting the rest of the music off the computer and uninstalling itunes and start again so hopefully it would just take the music off the ipod but don't know if this is a good idea as i think i will run the risk of losing all my music?
    Any suggestions???????????????
    Thanks

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
The transfer of content from sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here:

    iPod2PC Windows Only

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • Need help installing new itunes version on older mac for nano syncing

I purchased a new nano and new music, but can't get the nano sync because desktop mac is requesting me to upgrade the iTunes version.
When I do, it says "This update requires OS X version 10.7.5 or later." How does this get done?

Which exact model computer?  To get more information about your computer, go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac", then "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
    https://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/6th_generation/getstarted/
Basically you're stuck unless you can upgrade OS.  There's no other way to transfer music to the device.

    (apologies for barging in, lllass.)
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now?
