Help installing OBE BI samples

Hi, I'm having problems installing the OBE BI samples for the Discoverer tool.
The instructions say:
1. CD to c:\temp\discoverer (c:\temp is where I put the files)
2. set oracle_home=c:\oracle\BIToolsHome
3. Run install.bat, I use the following command:
install localhost 1521 dw dw pwd pwd USERS TEMP c:\temp\discoverer
When I do this, the script blows up because it tries to run SQLPLUS out of the c:\oracle\BIToolsHome\bin directory - which is NOT where it is installed. Its in c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\dw\bin - the oracle home of my main database. It looks like the script is hard-coding where sqlplus is? And if I copy the sqlplus.exe into the directory, then it blows up (looks like its missing some language files or something?)
Am I just being dense? I'm an old hand at Oracle Express, was trying to play with the new OLAP functionality and I'm not very familiar at all with standard Oracle database stuff.
Please let me know what I should do to fix this.

Hi,
Set ORACLE_HOME to the folder where business intelligence is installed.
Include c:\oracle\product\10.1.0\dw\bin in the path environment variable for SQL*Plus to work.
Include a tns alias for the database in the tnsnames.ora file of the business intelligence installation.
This should work for you.

HELP INSTALLING HP 3110 PRINTER WITH 2.0 COMPOSITE USB TO WINDOWS 8 NOTEBOOK WITH USB 3.0

Need help installing HP PhotoSmart 3110 All in One Printer with USB 2.0 composite. Errors with message can't work properly with USB 3.0 which is on my new Windows 8 notebook. Read forum support doc for installing device on Windows 8 and ran Printer Install Wizard. Goes thru extracting and errors "the system can't find the file specified".

Your V5-122p-0408 comes with only 1 USB 3 port, did you try both?
If the printer worked fine on another computer then the problem most likely in on the V5.
Are you running 8 or 8.1?

Your computer comes with Win 8 pre-installed but one of the steps to install/run Windows 8.1 is having updated drivers for Windows 8.1
Please, go to Control Panel -> System (or Start -> type winver and open) and verify what is your current version - if it is Windows 8 or 8.1
Windows 8 is version 6.2.x
Windows 8.1 is version 6.3.x
If Windows 8 in place, then , please read this article and enroll in the steps:

Update to the latest drivers prior and post installation respectively for win 8/8.1 :

Can I get help installing the latest version/update of iTunes on my PC?

Assuming the install has failed as it has for several others...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Can someone out there install the OEHR sample application on to the following combination software:
Oracle 10.2.0.3
APEX 3.0.1.00.08
I'm running on on AIX 5.2, but that shouldn't be an issue here.
I just want someone to come back and say yes it all worked perfectly. It all installed and runs just as it says in the instructions. I've tried this install a dozen times now even building a completely new database and installing everything again from scratch and it still doesn't work.
It all says it installs cleanly, but when I press the run application button after the install nothing happens and it asks me to install the supporting objects even though I've already done it and if I try to do it again it fails because everything is already there.
In 10 years of being a DBA this is one of the most annoying issues I've ever come across ...

I did so - just the other day on apex.oracle.com (which is 10.2.0.3). I tried it again this morning on an 11g database running APEX 3.0 and didn't have an issue. There's some rational explanation for this.
1) When you go through the Install Supporting Objects wizard, are there any warnings about prerequisites at all?
2) After the installation of supporting objects seems to succeed, do you end up with a page showing three icons and a message of "Your application's supporting objects have been installed"?
3) What do you see when you click on the Install Summary? Does it show a total of 3,258 statements being executed? Any errors? If you browse the schema, does it appear that everything is installed?

Help installing PSE10/Premier onto Mac from PC without software CD. I can't find my software box anywhere..... Is there a way to locate my serial number within the programs? AND how can I download the programs from your site- all I see are downloads for the new PSE 11.

You really need the DVD box which also has the serial numbers on the back. If you registered the product you can get the serial numbers by logging-in to My Adobe but that's not much help as only the current version 11 is available for download.

It has worked fine for everything that I do, plus I know all the tricks to this particular version. It has only been installed on 2 computers before...both my own computers. Now we have a new computer because the last one broke & I haven't been able to download the program. I have the cd etc but wondering why I can't download it. Could it be because it is so old....?? Do you have Rescue & Recovery installed on the old drive? Use that to create a set of Factory Recovery Media. Install the new drive and use the burned media to install Vista to that. Boot the Win 7 upgrade DVD and do a custom/clean install.
[edit] Once you have Win 7 installed, dld and install ThinkVantage System Update for Win 7 and let it pull down the Lenovo drivers and apps. You can select the ones you want to install.
That's how I did it w/Vista -> Win 7 Pro 64 on my T400. You can do a clean install from upgrade media as long as the HD has a previous version of Windows on it. An actual "in-place" upgrade just makes a mess, IMNSHO.
There may be other ways to do this, but you really ought to burn an OEM recovery media set of Vista regardless. Nice to have if you ever want to revert to Vista. Not that anyone would, but you might want to restore the machine to OEM stock and give it to your brother-in-law some day
