Help installing PSE 8 on my laptop

I bought a new laptop and it doesn't have a CD drive, however I own Photoshop elements 8 and am wondering if there is any way to install it without having to use a CD drive?

Help installing PSE 11

I am trying to install PSE11 on a new computer. Downloaded both files and launched installer from same folder. Get error message that the "file archive part of PSE 11 is missing..." Chat session of no help and said to use Forum.

What operating system are you using?
If windows, have you tried a different internet browser other than internet explorer?

I am having trouble installing PSE 8 to new laptop.

I purchased PSE 8 as a download in March 2010. I made a back up disc but it will not install. I'm getting error message 6. I downloaded the licensing tool but that did not work either. Can I download PSE 8 again I still have my key number.

No, you aren't. The serial number for the PSE 8 download will not work with the boxed version and vice versa. This only changed with PSE 9, but in all previous versions, if you have a disc, you need the disc for your serial number to work. Also, there is no download link available if you didn't buy the download in the first place.

What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.

Currently have 30K pics on PC Win. 7 laptop using PSE 8, corrected issues and did full backup on portable hard drive plus saved (Extensive) Keyword tags to file. Installed PSE 13 on PC Win 8.1 laptop. Will attach same portable Hard drive to new laptop.

Your computer comes with Win 8 pre-installed but one of the steps to install/run Windows 8.1 is having updated drivers for Windows 8.1
Please, go to Control Panel -> System (or Start -> type winver and open) and verify what is your current version - if it is Windows 8 or 8.1
Windows 8 is version 6.2.x
Windows 8.1 is version 6.3.x
If Windows 8 in place, then , please read this article and enroll in the steps:

Update to the latest drivers prior and post installation respectively for win 8/8.1 :

Can you start the Editor or Organizer from Launch Pad?
Can you see the application correctly installed from Finder:
Applications >> Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 >> Support Files >> Photoshop Elements 12 Editor

With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store

Installing PSE 12 on laptop that is not connected to internet

I purchased and installed Photoshop Elements 12 several months ago on my desktop computer. I am taking a class on Photoshop Elements and would like to install the program onto my laptop computer in order to take it to the class; however, my laptop has Windows XP on it and I no longer use it to connect to the internet. How can I install my Photoshop Elements 12 program onto the laptop using my installation disk? Thank you.

Pse 12 should work fine on windows xp, except you won't be able to update past the camera raw version 8.0 that ships with it, unless you do it manually
and unless you can at least hook up to the internet once, i don't know if you can activate photoshop elements 12 or get the photoshop elements 12.1 update.
It's possible you could activate pse 12 using the steps below, but i've never tried, so i don't know if it will work.

Yes, you are allowed two installations. If a download, they need to be the same operating system (either Windows or Mac). If from the disc, then it doesn't matter which operating system.
