HELP...Installing software etc for Zen Micro

Please can anyone help with this problem:
My original laptop which I installed the software CD when I bought my Zen Micro about 4/5 years ago has given up the ghost. I have tried locating software etc to download to continue using my zen micro but cannot seem to find what I need. Anything I manage to download then when running the application tells me I need something else at all.
Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can get to adding music again?

Would like to know a few things first .What version firmware is on the player to find it go to the Main Menu on the player >System>Information>the first set of numbers is the firmware version. then what operating system is on the computer ,the service pack,&version of Windows Media Player on the computer.

I turned on my Zen Micro
then it is stucked at the CREATIVE LOGO
so I did the Recovery Mode
I chose Clean Up
So a window came out that says something like are you sure you want to clean up so I chose YES.
then a window came out that says "Scan Disk or Scanning Disk"
I thought that my problem is already over
but, Oh My God! I've already been waiting for like 8 hours and the window saying "Scan Disk" is still not finish. waaaaaa!
then I thought, probably Clean Up is not the solution
I tried Format All
then a window came out saying "Formatting"
What the! I did it like in the evening and I slept for like 0 hours to check in the morning, but still, it is still not finished.
What is this?
I also have a problem, my computer doesn't recognize my Zen, and just to double my bad luck I lost my warranty receipt.
Oh my Lord, please help me.

So -
I have received a message from support, stating that the player most certainly is irreparable - and instructions on how to return it to have it replaced.
It seems to me that the player harddisk is broken/damaged. This may be a result of using it while jogging/running... (in my view) It is dissapointing that the player can't handle this - which of course must be considered a fairly normal usage. I have experienced some skipping earlier, but never thought this would affect the player to such an extent.
Hopefully - this is not a fault that applies to every Zen Micro out there, although your posts may indicate that this may be an issue with several players.

RIPING CD'S FOR ZEN MICRO (HELP!

I went to Windows Media Player 0 and Ripped Nelly's CD Suit for my Zen Micro, so it was all finished and I went into the Creative MediaSource Organizer to put it on. I went to import tracks, and clicked all the songs I wanted and hit "Continue" but nothing happened. I cant seem to figure out how to do this and i have read things all over. could someone please explain this to me. thanks
also, i have had NO probles yet with my zen micro and already have 50 songs on it (hey! i just got it wednesday, and have been busy, today i PLANNED on putting a ton more on.)

Installation Cd for zen micro not compadable with windows vis

I got a new laptop for christmas and I tried installing my zen micro using the installation disk. it loads up and says that it dose not support my computer and then cancels. i tried downloading the organizers off this website but they woulnt work? because they couldnt find any software for the zen. I have used this installation disk before on a different computer and it worked fine. Is it because my laptop has windows vista? help!

I have a ZEN Vision M and had no problem installing the Creative software on my windows Vista system. Upon placing the ZEN cd in my player I was prompted as to what action to take with the CD, I selected RUN.EVE. Then I was asked to verify that I wanted to allow the install application to run. t that point all I had to do was answer the Creative questions to install the software. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and the Creative Media Source version is 3.30.35.

I have a Zen Micro 4GB setup and working great on our desktop computer. I have the Creative Media Source v3.0.9 and Zen Micro Media Explorer v4.00.22 software installed. I purchased two Zen Micro 6GBs at Christmas for my kids. I have been through the manual and these forums, but no help on how to setup the two new Zen Micros to work with the existing software. The new Zens do show the popup "Creative Media Device Detected", and I can see the new Zens in Windows Explorer. The new Zens do not show up in the Zen Micro Media Explorer. Do I have to install the Zen software for each of the three Zens? If not, any ideas? Thanks

It appears that you may have both PlaysForSure Zen Micro and non-PlaysForSure Zen Micro. As such, you should install both plugins for MediaSource. A newer version of MediaSource is also available to you.
Here is what you should do:
- Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
- Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
- Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) from your product download site.

Which Media Explorer version do i need for Zen Micro 5gb with Firmware 2.20.

Same old story, been trying for hours and hours to transfer music onto the player. Searching forums for answers.

I have tried installing Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update (48.24 MB) but it doesn't recognise my player is plugged in.

Also tried installing Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) (23.98 MB) but Win Media Player 0 still doesn't recognise the player.

Should i bother installing software/drivers from the original CD i got? Or download them instead? Which do i need to download? Do i need to change the firmware?

I know these questions have been asked thousands of times, but all the answers i have read don't seem to be doing the trick.

Hurrah, i FINALLY got it working.
Installed drivers/software from original cd.
Downloaded/installed the Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) (23.98 MB) and managed to get the 'sync' feature working in WMP0.
Downloaded/installed Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update (48.24 MB) but it wasn't detecting my Zen.
Went into Device Manager and firstly uninstalled the MTP Device under Windows Portable Devices.
Connected Zen again, went into Device Manager again, right clicked on the MTP device and clicked on Update Driver.
The Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update then detected my device and installed.

What to do if new firmware for zen micro is not for you

Ok its pretty simple, takes long but it should work (never been tested)
Uninstall the new firmware (keep all your songs saved onto PC music library)Install the cd you were given with the zen micro.You'll have all your songs on your pc library ( i would reccomend clearing out you zen micro music library and just putting the pc music library songs on your zen micro from there) so just transfer all the files you want onto the zen micro and it should be running fine.please reply and tell me what happens.Zenmastertml

Here, I guess you want to see balance as on 30.06.2011
and transaction for 01.06.2011 - 30.06.2011.
Am i right?
FYI, If you use 0BALANCE for any period, let say 01.06.2011 - 30.06.2011
then it will show balance for last day 30.06.2011
because its aggregation is SUM, LAST Value on time characteristics.

HELP i cant charge my zen micro! (power adaptor troubl

I own a pink creative zen micro 5gig MP3 player. when i bought it, a special edition USB.2.0 power adaptor came with it, which is exclusi've to the 5gig zen micro mp3 players. this adaptor plugs into the wall, and charges the player, meaning i can charge my player anywhere without a computer.
well, now its stopped working. the charge just does not go through to the player, and i know it is because of a problem with the adaptor and not the player because the player still works when i connect it to a computer.
this is seriously irritating beacuse for some reason the player takes a huge amount of time to charge using my computer (as i write this it has been charging for almost and hour and the little charge level indicator in the corner of the screen has not changed from "completely empty")
what could be causing this and how do i fix it's

It's not needed, at least you need to update to one of the later firmwares. I suggest using the ..0 firmware, but you want to charge your battery up a bit first before trying to update.
With the ..0 firmware (and the later v2 firmwares) you can lock the charger (slide the power button over) then connect to USB and all the power is dedicated to charging the player.

I'm not sure what's up with your player or adapter. An adapter could fail but it's very rare. If you have a voltage meter you can check the outputs from the first and fourth pin, which should be 5V. Be careful though.
Leaving the adapter plugged in won't cause any issue to it, other than wasting a little electricity.

In Japan, the remote comes with the Zen Micro (still doesn't justify the $80 dollar price increase!!). I tried using the remote and found it to be a waste. I wouldn't bother buying it. When I am wearing a jacket I put the Micro in my jacket breast or side pocket. When I am not wearing a jacket, I use the case and belt clip.
Unless you make massi'vely long playlists and would thus keep the Micro in your bag for LONG periods of time, the remote is essentially useless. It only has volume, puase, play, and next track controls, and no display of course.
Just my thoughts on the remote. The clip sucks on the remote too. It's too small to clip to the strap on my bag securely.

Impossible to use MediaSource after installing PlayforSure upgrade for ZEN Mic

This seems ridiculous but it seems like once you install the latest software update so the Zen Micro works with WMP 0, MediaSource will no longer detect the Zen Micro. Why would a company make a software update that stops you from using its own product? Creative please make another update that allows you to use both WMP 0 and MediaSource. Its ridiculous that I have to choose one or the other. MediaSource is so much better when it comes to organizing music already on your Micro. Plus "syncing" with WMP 0 is a joke. If you change one thing on a song such as genre or album and then sync, all it does is add the song to your player, it doesn't update the current file. I learned this the hard way.
You really need to make it clearer that MediaSource will not work once you install the playforsure update. I would never of installed it if I knew that.

I just read it over again and it says the following:
Require software updates if you want to use any currently installed applications like Creative MediaSource?, Zen Media Explorer, or other track management tools with your player.
To me it implies that there is a software update available to let you use both. Still I think they should of put these warings in bold and made it much more clearer. Anyways is there a way to revert back to the old way and still be able to play songs purchased from sites such as Napster on the Micro?

...is a faulty file. When you download the application and open it, the language choice appears. However it won't let you choose any language, and so you cannot continue.
Anyone know what the story is here? Any remedies to this?

I'm pretty computer-literate so I have a good idea what I'm doing but it's just not working!
Basically, when the list of languages appears on the screen, it's as
if the list is just text instead of links.
The mouse doesn't react to the word "English", or "French" in anyway whatsoever.
Any more help would be hugely appreciated!

Painting expert for Zen Micro Ph

I bump my Zen micro photo aagainst a desk at work maybe alittle hard but not hard enough to damage the Hard dri've, However it did knock the paintoff of a /4" area on the bottom of the case (I thought it was plastic casing I guess not) any way can somebody recommend a good paint to re-paint it. Maybe this is a positi've experience (test) for the hard dri've that the paint will chip off esier then the hard dri've will be damaged with.

Go to the next paint shop and check out for a similar color. My player is white with this metalized look if I hold it into the sunlight. So maybe they have a matching color.
Or if you know a car painting garage you may ask there. Often they can help and give you a little bottle with paint for less money than you will spend for a can in a store.
And: don't forget to cover all other parts of your player with a sticky tape before you will spray or paint or whatever.

Help!!...Zen Micro crashed, not responding, what do I

OK, here's the deal:
I wanted to transfer some files from my old computer to my new one using the data storage feature on my Zen Micro. I turned the player on, plugged it into the USB port, and it immediately shut off. When I tried to turn it back on, it showed the first two images (the Creative inc copyright thing, and then just the one that says 'Creative'), then it got stuck on that and the contrast faded out to the point where you couldn't even read it. I took the battery out and the same thing happened when I put it back in. I did it again and tried to do the recovery thing but that menu faded out, too, and the touchpad wouldn't respond. I felt the Micro starting to get warm so I took it out again and just let it rest for several minutes. Now, it just won't turn on at all.
Can anyone help, or is my Micro a dead duck?

I have experienced a similar problem. I was simply listening to a track when the player started to make a loud buzzing noise. It then shut off. I cannot reboot the machine. I have no idea to do a hard reset. The battery was near full. There is no response when I plug it in. Worst yet, I lost my receipt. I have had the thing less than 2 weeks. If this thing is broken I swear on all that is holy I will never purchase a Creative product again. Moreover, I will tell everyone I know to avoid their products. Please help.

Your account must have a password. You cannot install software even as an admin user in an account that was created without a password.
