Help installing Zen MicroPhoto

So I just updated to SP2, and WMP. The computer detects the Zen as an MTP device and installs it accordingly and successfully, or at least it says so, anyway. However, neither WMP nor my Creative Explorer can see the **bleep** thing. It also doesn't show up in on the Device Manager list. I've upgraded its firmware to the latest version, went through the USB Permissions routine outlined in the Knowledge Base, read through a ton of topics here at the forum that all offered even the slightest inkling of a solution, yet nothing.
I've tried that "FixUp" file, but it doesn't work anymore (it did before installing WMP, however).

Try rolling back to WMP0 instead using the steps outline below.

See if WMP0 works. If all is well, then update to WMP again.

Installing Zen Microphoto 8 GB on Vi

Windows Vista (32bit) does not install my Zen Microphoto 8 GB.
Upon connecting the device via USB, it tries to install it as an MTP-device. The installation fails. ('The device does not start' Code 0.)
According to the Driver Availability Chart support should be native.
I have already upgraded the firmware to .3.0e (on another PC).
I tried to connect it via USB connections on the front and at back.
I used different cables.
All to no avail.
Any suggestions

the screen? really? i was thinking some sort of power/battery glitch, since i get no backlight, no lights on the keyboard, no light on the on/off switch when it's not hooked up to the computer via usb. also coz that "your battery level is too low" error message.
actually, it's probably BOTH a power issue and screen issue, now that i think about it. *sigh* guess i'll contact the seller and see what he'll do. yeah, normally i have luck on ebay. my little zenv plus was certainly a good buy. oh well.

HELP WITH ZEN MICROPHOTO PLEASE

I tried to turn my microphoto 8gb mp3 player on, and I came up with the
recovery mode message. The firmware was deleted, my computer won't recognize that
my mp3 player is indeed attached (which it is), and it won't let me re-download
the firmware to fix it. Also, it freezes up. What should I do?

Hi,
Are you sure these are MP3's and not in a format called WMA? MP3's are license free but WMA can contain a license and especially if you downloaded these files from a music provider. If they are WMA then you need to use MediaSource (or MSofts Media Pleyer) to transfer these files as the license does not transfer via drag and drop hence you get problems.

Install for Zen microphoto? Help PLEAS

Hi, I have a zen microphoto, and had installed it on my laptop using the disk a couple of months ago. I lost my entire hard dri've, thus...the installation of my mp3 player, and, of course, I left the installation disk lying on the coffee table and my dog decided to make it a new chew toy and snapped it in half. I tried looking, but where can I find software to download to get my player working again? I already tried just plugging it in and seeing if it showed up in "My Computer" so I could just drop files into it, but it alas is not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Zen microphoto-computer does not detect it, help ple

I got my zen microphoto for christmas, so i have had it less than a month. a few days ago the screen froze on me while i was looking for music to listen to. i had been listening to it for about an hour or so, the album once done and i went to get somehting else to listen to and it froze. I tried plugging it into the computer and that didn't make a diffrence. i couldn't shut it down, turn the lock on nothing. but it did make noise when touching the arrows and stuff. just didn't do anything. i let the battery go dead. then i plugged it into the computer and charged the battery. when i turned it on i got the page where you can reboot. so i rebooted and that was it. the last option of the four. it rebooted and i could listen to music, battery charges.
I notice when i plug it into the computer the little charge icon is over the battery and flashing and the battery charges but i don' tget the picture of the usb connection to the comptuer that would show up before when i plugged it in. also the computer doesn't make the little noise that it used to either when i plugged it in. zen creative says i need to plug in my device, windows media player doesn't see it either.
i tried reinstalling the creative stuff, turn off the player and take out the battery and all that, and i cleaned it (first option) and then rebooted (last option). i didn't do the two in the middle, reformating and the firmware thing.
if anyone can help me that would be great and much appreciated.

snoweagle-you are the best. thank you so much. still wasn't really sure what you are talking about with the SP (service pack) stuff. but i went to downloads for zen micro and there were three options. took the first application download. downloaded it, installed it, restarted my computer...and it works. i have the docked word with the usb icon on my screen and i can open up and edit my music. (haven't tried to import something yet but i'm sure i'll be able to) i didn't know that i had to keep up with the new downloads and such. thank you so much. i was on the verge of tears...thank you and i hope you are around for awhile in case i have other questions. thank you thank you thank you-alex

Zen Microphoto Problem!! Help plea

Ok, so i've got blue microphoto. It has been working great during a year. But now theres a problem. When i connect it to my computer, and try to move music there with MicroPhoto Media Explorer, it says: "Your player is not connected. Please connect your Creative Zen Microphoto to the computer." But it is connected correctly. It has been working before. I have tried to install the cd few times, but it doesnt help. What shall i do?

Well. I did this: Start -> Run.. -> devmgmt.msc
Then look for microphoto from the list, then click that update thing up in buttons when u have selected that player. Then look for updates with internet. That program connects to the windows update thing, and finds an update. Its something like that has 3 letters in beginning and first is M.. i mean the updates name. Then it wokrked.

Need help with Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8g

my friend gave me this mp3 player.. the creative zen microphoto 8gb.. umm i have no cd for it n he didnt have it when he gave me it, i am wondering how to put stuff on it.. i deleted all the stuff that was previously on it, it says theres over 7gb of total space but only 2.4gb of free space? whats with that? anyways.. i went to the downloads in the support section and i downloaded and installed the drivers needed and everything but the program shown in the How-To put files onto the mp3 player will not install.. it says the device is not detected when installshield comes up and everything.. i tried a few diff variations of the program.. please help ... i want to put songs on it

i installed windows media player like a hour ago before i saw ur post.. now when i connect the mp3 player to my laptop it doesnt install or anything.. is there a way to install windows media player 0 again, when i try it says that my version of windows does not support it

I turned it on like i do everyday to listen to music on my way to school. i downloaded the newest version of firmware onto it'sthree days before. when i turned it on, it went into recovery mode. so i went to reboot, and it goes back into recovery mode. i tried about 3 times, then it disabled all the functions. i couldn't control anything. so i took out the battery, and left it until i came home. i come home, put in the battery, turn it on. i plug it in the computer, and the computer does not reconize that its docked and the screen goes white and then it shuts off by itself. then it just freezes, it refuses to turn on. i tell my friend?yesterday at school and he said the hard dri've crashed and now i have a brick the size of a zen microphoto. is this true, or?is something else wrong with it. please someone help if you can. If you cannot even reach recovery mode any more you will need to contact customer support. If you are in the USA you get a 3month parts and labour warranty and a year parts warrantyMessage Edited by ts on -0-20060:36 PM

one method i saw and tried worked well but you need to try it at your own risk!!! turn off your microphoto, grab your microphoto with the screen facing you, and either slap your hand against the SIDE of your microphoto, or slap the SIDE of your microphoto against your hand. This method works for me but try it at your own risk. it could damage your hard disk. (its probably already damaged anyways.)and if you really need to turn off your Zen but it wont turn off, i suggest removing the battery.

Need serious help with my Zen Microphoto

My Zen Microphoto controls are messed up. evrytime i try to use the vertical pad it actually forwards me to the next song. When i press back to return to the previous menu, instead of doing that it played music that i did not even select?
I REALLY need some help here!!! Its a new Zen Microphoto bought only for a month....

What did you do to control the senstivity of the touchpad. Do you set it to low or med or high I tried all, it is very upsetting not to be able to master something as simple as this. I love the player I just got it yesterday the sound is beautifull although I accidently had it turn to high when it started to play.

Zen MicroPhoto, cant install softw

I have Windows 2000 and I cant install the software for my Zen MicroPhoto. I am able to transfer music to the player through Windows Media Player, but I cant transfer photos to the player using Windows Media Player. Is there a fix or something so I can load photos onto my Zen MicroPhoto

I have already dowloaded that driver, and i use it to transfer my music to my zmp. However i am unable to tidy up the folders in artists which is really messed up when it i simply transfer music into the player. I also need a program to create and manage playlists in my zmp. And wat about transfering photos? Any ideas?

ZEN MICROPHOTO HELP

I was wondering if you can use the ZEN MICROPHOTO on Windows 2003. can u like download a driver or something?

Actually, there is, it's Windows2003 Server. It isn't an OS like XP, it's meant for servers.
As far as I'm aware it does support MTP devices nati'vely, if it does it should work right away with the Zen MicroPhoto. Otherwise try installing WMP0.

Creative Zen Microphoto half-instal

Hi, I have a zen microphoto and I was installing the software + drivers + stuff onto my computer and there was a power cut halfway through installing, now there is a creative folder in Program Files (presumably only half full) but no listing on the Add/Remove software tool and when I try to reinstall, it doesn't launch the installer and instead just says Creative Zen MicroPhoto was successfully installed, even though it wasn't.

Zen MicroPhoto display - help

I am very happy with my Zen MicroPhoto...apart from one thing. On a direct sunlight I can't read a thing on a display. I've got to look at it from all impossible angles in order to be able to change an album to play. Is it like this with all of them or is it only a fault of my one? Please help - as summer is here

Most color LCDs, even the transflecti've ones, have issues with viewing under direct sunlight. This is because the backlight in the display is overcome by the powerful sun light so it's very hard to see the image.
Mind you, these are OLED displays which are much better than the TFT displays in many other devices.

HELP! On Zen Microphoto.. Creative Word stuck! wont start

Please help.. my zen microphoto is only a month old. Just this afternoon while listening the music suddenly stopped. I checked the player and found out that it froze. I tried pressing the back arrow but nothing. Then I tried to shut the player off but it wont turn off. Big Bidg problem, when I tried to turn it on the screen froze with the word creative on it. normally at start-up the ceati've word comes out while the blue led is on then comes the phrase zen microphoto but now the screen will freeze at the word creative and the player wont shut down. Need help.. please
