Help!  Intercheck process taking 100%  of my processor

Hi, I have a dual-core MBP, and when i try to run programs like mail, word, and firefox at the same time, the Intercheck process decides to take a lot of my CPU.  Whenever this happens, i have to restart my computer, and if i don't, it will eventually freeze.
Thanks

Uninstall Sophos completely according to the developer's instructions, then reboot.

  • Adobe Reader XI use 100 % of the processor in Internet Explorer

We have sequenced Adobe Reader XI with App-V 5.0 SP2 hotfix 5. This package is deployed in our Windows 2008 R2 Citrix XenApp 7.6 server. When we open a PDF document in Internet Explorer, after about 10 seconds IE freeze and this process use 100% of one processor.
The first 10 seconds, we can do watever we want with the PDF file.
We are searching a fix for this problem for many weaks, with no success. We have virtualized Adobe Reader X and we have no problem with PDF in Internet Explorer.
I know that installing Reader localy will solve the problem, but we want to virtualised the maximum of application without installing it natively.
    Thanks for your help!

I have run a procmon and i have discover that when the processor is 100%, the Internet Explorer process query the registry with those key to the infinite :

  • ITunes using 100 % of the processor

    Hello,
I have Leopard 10.5.6 on the new MacBook with the actual iTunes. The problem I am having is that iTunes are taking 100 % of the processor even when there is not any song playing. Tryed to remove all the plugins but it does not make any difference.
My music collection is not so big. There are both MP3s and AACs.
Have no idea, what I can try or do.
    Thanks.

I had (and sometimes still have) CPU usage issues, although I'm running iTunes from a Mac mini, which is likely less powerful than your MacBook.
I spent so much time trying to figure out the cause. I only knew that iTunes was the culprit from staring at Activity Monitor. One of the major causes of CPU usage in iTunes is Smart Playlists. If you have a large number of Smart Playlists that are set to Live Updating then iTunes will be very busy as it automatically populates those playlists when you make changes to your library.
Think about the Smart Playlists you have in your library and what Rules they use to build themselves. Then think about what activity in iTunes (playing a track? changing a genre?) would cause the contents of your Smart Playlists to change.
Another issue to look at is the location of your library files (not your music files). Is it on the same system iTunes is running from?

  • Dock process using 100% processor

    Hello all,
Thanks in advance for the help. I've just bought a new MacBook Pro 15' with a 512 SSD drive and have been having freezes that seem due to the "Dock" process that uses 100% of a processor as you can see in the attached screenshot.
I killed it, I restarted the mac, I deleted preference pane, etc ... and nothing works
    Can you help me ?
    Regards,
    Arnaud

Wow, I am not sure how you made the connection between the setting to  "Show Windows applications folder in Dock" but deselecting it certainly did the trick.
Oh, that's easy.  I'm studying for the New York state bar exam this summer and I absolutely needed my computer this morning for a simulated practice exam.  Under those circumstances, you'd be surprised at how creative your inner-geek can be. (Aside: If you're reading this Cupertino, I am still available for an entry level legal position after the bar.  I'm punctual, technically savvy and litigious - what else could anyone ask for?)
    Best,

  • Why is "usb" process using 100% of processor?

My new 15" MBP (2.3 GHz version) was feeling like it was running hot, so I opened Activity Monitor expecting to see another Kernel Task gone wild situation. Instead I saw that a process called usb was using 100% of the processor's capacity.  I honestly don't know much about computers, so I have no idea if a usb 'process' is related to USB 'devices', but at the time there were no USB devices plugged in.  I was able to kill the process, and it didn't seem to affect anything I was doing.
Has anyone else experienced this?  Does anyone else know if it's related to the Kernal Task issue?
    Overheating in Ottawa.

    Your "Plug-in Container" is corrupted.
    download the following:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Also, download these:
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 112 FULL installer (ther browsers)
You'll need to install Shockwave with the FULL installer for IE too, but there isn't a direct download for it. You'll need to go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ using IE AFTER everything else is done.
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
    Go to: C/Windows/System32
    Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
    Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installers, and then the Shockwave FULL installer you downloaded.
Lastly, open IE and go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ to download and install the Shockwave FULL installer for ActiveX (IE).
For Firefox, I recommend FlashBlock (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flashblock/) It's prevent ANY Flash content from loading until you allow it manually. It can get to be a pain, but you eventually get used to it.

  • HELP PLEASE - syslogd gone mad taking 100% CPU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi PLEASE HELP

  • Mail Can't Open & com.apple.internetaccount process hogging 100% CPU

Desperately seeking answers after Mavericks install..
My mail crashed and now won't open at all. I've tried most (if not all) the suggestions posted by others.  Haven't tried deleting and reinstalling mail yet, as this will be my last resort since I have a work account in it that is not on IMAP.
And another troubling issue is my macbook's fan is going crazy and feels like its overheating.
Looking at "Activity Monitor" I see a process "com.apple.internetaccounts" that is taking 100% CPU and 1.6GB of memory!!
No idea what this process is and can't seem to quit it.

@Drewli77 yup that's it. When Mail opened I chose Google/Gmail and let Mail set the account up for me.
Before doing that I had noticed com.apple.internetaccounts hogging the CPU. I went into System Preferences > Internet Accounts, waited 10 minutes for the spinning ball to stop, then deleted the Google account in there. There was only one Google account in there, despite the fact that I have four Google accounts set up in Mac Mail. Anyway this one account seemed to be what was slowing down that preference pane. After deleting Accounts.plist I re-added my accounts in Mail, which added them to the Internet Accounts preference pane, but now that preference pane (and Mail) open just fine without hogging resources.
What annoys me is the fact that hitting Delete on a message sends it to Trash, which in Mavericks corresponds to Gmail's Trash, meaning it gets purged every month (regardless of the setting you choose in Mac Mail). I've been using Option-Delete to Archive it, but I wish I could just use Delete for that, since I always Archive and rarely Trash messages. I would set another folder to be used for Trash, but sadly, all of the options under Mailbox > "Use this mailbox for" are greyed out.

  • ITunes eats 100% of the processor

Since yesterday evening (Still pre-iTunes 7.2) iTunes eats up 100% of the processor and won't respond anymore. When I force quit it and restart it, only seconds later (interacting with it or not) same thing happens.
I deleted the plists for iTunes and that helped yesterday evening, today I fired up iTunes - same behaviour.
Repairing disk permissions didn't help and there is no thing like "determing gapless playback". Disabling plug-ins/add-ons didn't help as well. I can't find anything in the logs.
I sampled the process with the activity monitor and I get:
Analysis of sampling pid 591 every 10.000000 milliseconds

  • Wss tracing is taking 100% of cpu.

wss tracing is taking 100% of cpu. How to fix this ? or any other way to disable this and then enable back with out any issues ?
    Srini

First trace if you are running any heavy process on the server if not then , are you running any custom code, it seems some code is opening SP connection and not closing this is what happens most of the time.
You can run this script to see all open connection for each database on your SQL to troubleshoot the issue.
    select a.dbid,b.name, count(a.dbid) as TotalConnection
    from sys.sysprocesses a
    inner join sys.databases b on a.dbid = b.database_id
    group by a.dbid, b.name

  • Which process taking high CPU

    Hi
Our environment is having SCOM 2007 R2.
I want to get the details of processes taking high CPU,memory in windows server 2003 , 2008. These details are stored in Opsmgr DatawareHouse ? , can I get in the form of reports? OR any script available. Please help.
    Regards
    Madhavi

    Hi Madhavi,
Run this script on a server and you will get the individual process utilization. I am not sure how you exactly need this.
    strComputer = "localhost"
    Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _
        & "{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" _
        & strComputer & "\root\cimv2")
    Set colProcesses = objWMIService.ExecQuery _
       ("Select * from Win32_Process")
    For Each objProcess in colProcesses
        Wscript.Echo "Process: " & objProcess.Name
        sngProcessTime = (CSng(objProcess.KernelModeTime) + _
            CSng(objProcess.UserModeTime)) / 10000000
        Wscript.Echo "Processor Time: " & sngProcessTime
        Wscript.Echo "Process ID: " & objProcess.ProcessID
        Wscript.Echo "Working Set Size: " _
        & objProcess.WorkingSetSize
        Wscript.Echo "Page File Size: " _
        & objProcess.PageFileUsage
        Wscript.Echo "Page Faults: " & objProcess.PageFaults
    Next
Let me know if this helps

  • Sessions with Event "class slave wait" taking 100% CPU

    Hi experts,
I have an issue in an 11.2.0.2 RAC database with 2 standby nodes that are driving me nuts.
All started when I've been told there are 2 Oracle processes consuming too much CPU in the environment.
I found 2 processes which takes 100% CPU each. These processes are Oracle processes into the DB and checking them out although they are registered in v$process and v$session, there is nothing related to them in v$bgprocess so I could not find out which oracle processes started these 2 OS processes.
The view v$session shows them ACTIVE in the event "class slave wait". There aren't too much information about this event, at least I failed to find...
Using dbms_monitor and dbms_system to create trace events did not create any tracefile. Only ORADEBUG was able to create events but with nearly no information inside the trace files.
Questions I need to have answered or at least hints that I can follow to find the answer:
    1) what is causing the CPUs to be consumed at 100%? Which process?
    2) Why does these processes are using that much of CPU?
    3) What can be done to safely get over it?
Honestly I don't know where else to look at except trying to get some help. Could someone give me a hand please?

Hi Pal, thanks for your reply!
    Here are the answers:
    1. If it is RAC there is no such construct as a "standby node" and you say you have two of them. Please be specific ... is this RAC or Data Guard or a combination? Or do you have a three node cluster with all services pointing to only a single server wasting all of the resources of the other three?
A: This is a combination of them. We have 2 nodes in a RAC environment shipping logs to two physical standby databases in another site.
    2. Two processes can not be at 100% of CPU any more than I can be 200% awake. Please show us how you arrived at this conclusion, on what hardware and operating system, and include a formatted (read the FAQ to learn how) extract showing what you are seeing.
A: top in Linux shows two oracle processes consuming 100% (or nearly of it) of 1 CPU each. This is a 16 cores server (each primary node) so 2 of these are working on full capacity to service the described processes.
    3. What processes? Name them and again run a SQL statement and post the output so we can see what you are looking at.
A: Like I said before I failed to find which background process they belongs to as there are no indications of them in v$bgprocess and in v$session/v$process either. I can see them in v$process and v$session but again, there are no indications of for which bg process they belong to.
    4. Is anything slow? Are there any problems with the system or are you only reacting to two numbers you think are too high?
A: No, system is not slow because of that but the client wants to investigate and have it sorted as it is not normal.
Additionally I found a bug in metalink which seems to be the culprit, but I'm unsure yet. This is Bug 12929268 : HIGH CPU ON ORA_O00N PROCESS
Is any other information that I may provide you?
    Thanks for help!

  • Need help to process attachment data

    Dear all,
I have the following use case.
    1. I have one BPEL process which takes multipart MIME attachment with others parameters.
    2. i have to save the attachment to the database through DBAdpter and do some business process.
My BPEL process taking attachment from standalone client and another BPEL process requester, All workings fine when the content-Id of the mime part is the physical address of the attachment file and the client and BPEL process in the same machine. By readFile() function i can get the file.
But if i will send file with content-id:<[email protected]> - certainly it's not working.
I would like to get any information how the Mime attachment works in BPEL process also how to retrieve the mime attachment from the SOAP message in BPEL.
I examine the samples and demos supplied with SOA suit but can't figured. My SOA suit is 10.1.3.1
Any help or suggestion will be welcome. Thank'x in advance.
    Best Regards

Is there also a way to set up the new Hard Drive so that my old programs will work again (GarageBand, iTunes' DRM-encoded mp4's that require the "original" signal, etc.) And how do I take off the second copy of OS X from my old hard drive before I get the disc image for a new hard drive?? Essentially, how do I set up the new drive so that it's like my original setup?

  • Mail is taking 100% CPU

Out of nowhere OS X Mail on my macbook pro is taking 100% of the CPU. Doesn't seem to be downloading emails or anything but it's working the CPU. It's an IMAP connection to Mobile Me. I have tried to remove the account and re-create it from scratch and no change.

    I have a similar problem.
Mail starts eating up all CPU and RAM resources at the same time. After a short hang its CPU usage drops and RAM is set free again. This occurs periodically about each minute. I tried all suggestions in the forum from Onyx cleaning over envelope index deletion to Flip4Mac uninstall. Nothing helps.
Switching to Thunderbird is ok, but i'd really like to use Mail again and I'm desperately looking for a final solution.
