    Hi Coralienz,
Can you please check the value of the registry entries at the following location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
In case the values for any of the entries (i.e. Common AppData, Common Desktop, Common Documents etc.) is referencing to E:\, change the value back to look something like below and you should be good to go.

  • "Invalid Drive D"..... please help!!!

I am told to download newest version of iTunes v10, it downloads fine, but when I try to run it (along with the iTunes store) it says "computer needs to be modified", and then it says "Invalid Drive D".  I have had my classic for over two years, and I have never had a problem with either my library or the store.  I can still access my library with the old version, but I cannot get into the store because it keeps saying I have to download the new iTunes version.  Please help!  I am out of ideas and I do not know what to do.  Any assistance would be great.  Thanks.  I am running Vista if that helps, and I do not know what version of iTunes I am currently using.

The following user tip is worth a try with that one:

  • Please Help! Invalid Drive: E:\

I currently have itunes 6 but for the last few months, whenever i have tried to install a more up to date version it says 'Invalid Drive: E:\' This is after the 'Run' process and on the final installation phase. I really want the newest version as i want to start downloading tv shows. If anyone knows what this problem is and how to go about rectifying it i would be most grateful.

even though you're not getting the 1327 error message number, the following InstallShield document is a good place to start with that one:

  • Difficulty downloding Adobe Reader and Error 1327. Invalid Drive H:\

I am having a difficulty downloading Adobe reader on my laptop. For some reasons, I am getting error 1327. Invalid Drive H:\ notification. I have followed the tips on how to resolve this issue from Adobe's help and FAQ pages, but I am still not able to download Adobe reader. This issue begun short while after I installed a Tuneup software from AVG. I contacted this Tuneup company, and one of it's representative guided me through the steps on how to resolve the problem; unfortunately, the correction attempt did not make any difference. Adobe tech support team can fix my issue, but at a cost of $ 40. I do not want to pay it. Hence, I am trying to solve this problem myself. Could any one, who has the knowledge to deal with this issue, please respond to my request?
Thank you in advance for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.
    Best regards,

Have you tried both solutions on the link from the earlier poster?  Microsoft Fixit did not fixit?
If so, you will have to search the registry manually for your invalid drive H:\
Please post back if you are unsure what to do when you find that registry entry.
P.S. please do not post your email address and other private data in this public forum!

  • Error Message...Invalid Drive E when loading ITunes

I have tried to download ITunes for 3 days straight, I keep getting an error message that I have an invalid Drive E. I have done disk clean up, defrag, cleaned out cookies and temp files, what else can I do? Does anyone else get this message? I am dying to use my new phone but I can not unlock or register it.

    Bissley,
I have received this error in the past and it is usually caused by Windows automatically changing your external drive letters when you install. There are two ways around it; first, follow the directions provided by b noir. Second, within iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced
Under the advanced options you'll see a recessed section called "iTunes Media folder location". Although you may have set this in the past it, if Windows changed your drive letters it will no longer be valid. Default is usually "C:\blah\blah\mymusic"
Changing it just a matter of clicking "change" and finding your music folder again or change your drive letter back (if it changed at all).
If Windows is changing your drive letters, it is best to set them yourself so that everytime you plug in the devices they use the letter you assigned. Here is a link for that process:

  • I keep getting an error report 1327 invalid drive .I have tried to remove adobe reader and it won't let me , this used to work opk on my computer , but has not for quite a while now .I would like it gone from my computer

I am having problems with adobe reader , an error message 1327 invalid drive . I have tried to remove adobe readr=er from my computer , but it wont let me . It is useless as I am unable to use it ...why can I nor remove it

This means that something in your registry is pointing to a drive that doesn't exist; see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327763

  • Itunes 7.7 setup will not run - gives message 'Invalid drive: E:\'

    Hi there guys,
    really hope someone can help.
As stated on the subject line, after I have downloaded itunes 7.7 (either from the itunes site or through itunes update checker), when I attempt to run the setup, it gives the message 'Invalid drive: E:\'. It then says itunes installer completed, that errors were encountered and to try again later.
    Any suggestions?
    thanks,
    paul

Still trying to solve this with no luck. It's getting really frustrating - if anyone has any ideas....!?

  • Can't install Itunes 8, when instal starts error saying "invalid drive e:/"

I had the oitunes version before 8 came out and now that it did I tryied to upgrade it but an error message came up saying "invalid drive e:/" so I went and looked for a solution so I tried uninstalling it and installing it agian but the error message still comes up, so now I'm stuck with no itunes at all. I checked my computer and I don't have a drive called e:/ so I don't know what is going on, can anyone help me please????

At some point, for your computer, the registry settings for the location of folders, such as "My Music" have been changed to point to a drive E: that is no longer there or maybe was never there.
What you need to do is go into your registry and look for this E: drive.
Unfortunately, there are multiple entries in your registry that can point off into the distance. What I do is go into regedit and just look for "My Music". On my system, which is going to be different because it's Vista 64 bit, the registry keys of interest are:
    HKEYCURRENTUSER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
HKEY_USERS\<long random meaning number that is user specific>\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
If that doesn't work, look through the registry for E:\. Somewhere you've got a system variable in your registry pointing to a drive that doesn't exist.
Another option is to get a USB thumb drive and map it to E:\ so that you have a drive on E: and then everything should work.
