i try to update my 3gs with over the air but it give me error
i try reset home and power for 30 sec but noth anyone seen this bft

i'm not sure - if you have access to a computer, hook it up to iTunes - turn the Wi-Fi sync OFF, sync the old fashioned way and see if it will update it that way?
I've read around here before that people who chose to update that way lost some of their information during the update process, so make sure you sync it to your computer first so you don't lose anything.

Here is an article that I would recommend taking a look at for this issue.
Get help with Touch ID
Make sure that you're using the latest version of iOS.
Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.*
Cover the Home button completely. Don't tap too quickly, don't press down hard, and don't move your finger while Touch ID is scanning. Make sure that your finger touches the metal ring around the Home button.
If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring. If it does, remove the case or screen protector and try again.
Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode and make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on. Also make sure that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints.
Try enrolling a different finger.
If you can't enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact AppleCare for help.
* Moisture, lotions, sweat, oils, cuts, or dry skin might affect fingerprint recognition. Certain activities can also temporarily affect fingerprint recognition, including exercising, showering, swimming, cooking, or other conditions or changes that affect your fingerprint.

Help iOS 8 download to iphone 5-now frozen on Itunes/plug-in screen. Already tried holding down power & home screen for 10 seconds - no luck. Anyone have any other ideas as I'm trying to avoid a factore restart.... :-(.

when you have iTunes logo with the use port showing on your iPhone 5 , it needs to place your iPhone in recovery mode. Hope you have back up your data before the update .
Here is is the step
1. Check you iTunes version software 11.3 or 11.4
2. Turn off your device . If you are having issue turning off the device, force quit by pressing and holding the power button and home button at the same time until the device is off.
3. Connect the use cable to your Pc or Mac and
Press and hold the home button while connecting the other end of the usb cable to your iPhone/ iPad / iPod .
continue to press and hold the home button until you see the iTunes logo with usb cable port on the
on the screen of your device And release .
4. On your pc or Mac. will show a message iTunes has detected your iPhone in recovery mode you must restore before you can use iTunes.
5. Click ok
6. Restore .
These process can be use also when your device is disabled with a passcode locked.....

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the issue persists, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Help with iPad Identifying Phone Numbers in iMessage Send & Receive Settings / iMessage Syncing Help - iOS 6 - iPhone - iPad

With iOS6, iPhone and iPad users will see that their Send & Receive iMessage settings have updated across their devices to be made available at both phone numbers and email addresses. You may have also seen alerts on one or more of your devices advising that another device is now using the same Apple ID/phone number for iMessage.
Being able to be reached on iMessage on both Apple ID and phone numbers across devices means that iMessage can keep the same thread and sync across devices.
Due to having 2 iPhones on different phone numbers running along side my iPad at one time, (whilst I was waiting for my phone number to be moved to a new provider), my iMessage settings on my iPad lost my phone number completely. I thought I would document the steps to recover this for anyone in the same boat.
1. Check that you are signed in with the same iCloud Account on both iPad and iPhone.
2. Turn off iMessage on your iPad from Settings > Messages.
3. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. You should see your phone number and your iCloud email address in the 'Your can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Make sure both are ticked.
4. At this point, I synced my iPhone with iTunes, then synced my iPad with iTunes.
5. On your iPad, turn iMessage back on - your phone number should now show in the 'You can be reached by iMessage at:' list. Tick the phone number. You should receive an alert on your iPhone.
This should resolve the issue.
With the above set up and with the iOS 6 updates, iMessage should now sync fine across devices however I have still found the most successful way to run iMessage is to always start new conversations from your Apple ID and to start new threads by addressing the first message to an Apple ID from an Apple ID.
To do this, go to Settings > iMessage > Send & Receive and tick your Apple ID in the 'Start new conversations from:' list, then start a new iMessage thread to the recipients Apple ID. This way, the thread will sync across iPad and iPhone. Note that a thread set up this way will not fall back on SMS, so you get a clean iMessage thread. This method also worked/works on iOS 5, as long as you send the first message of a new thread from an iPad (which can only send via Apple ID) to an Apple ID.

ipad has no phone number, you use a same email address for both devices. and set it in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive

Req. Help: iOS 8.1 upgrade killed sending email

Has anyone else encountered a situation where, after going from 8.0.2 > 8.1 you continued to receive mail, but were unable to send it?

Took the upgrade last night as there hadn't been an overwhelming number of horror stories making the rounds. Did so after turning off all other applications, etc..
All seemed after the restart so I went to bed. This morning I grab the phone and began my day. Part of my duties include documenting, by photo, items after they arrive in a warehouse and emailing them to interested parties.
Imagine my surprise when I later called and asked if they'd gotten my emails to hear "Huh?" as the response. This, after sending a picture of my (cliche alert) cat, to a friend who runs a rescue organization last night and getting an instant reply (it *was* funny).
So I looked and sure enough, they were all hanging in my outbox.
I tried resending, no good (this is an Exchange server account). On a whim I tried my other account, which is IMAP/SMTP, with a fresh test mail. Didn't send there either.
So I then:
I restarted my phone, no improvement.
I tried a trick from an old iOS 4.3 thread and turned the SMTP server off and on (it HUNG on Verifying for *for*EVER*) and resent from that account. It went. w00t!
I changed one of the work emails to my home email settings and resent. BOOM! Off it went.
However, there's no option to turn off anything in an Exchange account and I can't be sending work emails through my home account.
Other than deleting work account and reentering everything again, would anyone have a cure?
I'm on a 64Gb, Verizon, iPhone 6 Plus and would appreciate any help you can give.

If emails are stuck in your outbox, then delete the account and re add it.
Or talk to your IT dept since your having issues with your work email account.

Sometime in the Fall of this year. Apple has not anounced anything more specific than that as of yet.

HELP ios 5.0.1 bug contacts

I currently have an iPhone 4s and of course the ios 5.0.0. was preinstalled with ATT network, with no real problems. I update this program Over the Air (OTA) with 5.0.1 and lost all my contacts and bad battery life now. I get my contacts from Yahoo! contacts and I no longer get these contacts on my phone. I tried everything and here is a list that I have tried.
1. Deleted my Yahoo account and reenabled it.... got nothing
2. Reset my network......got nothing
3. Contacted Apple........got nothing/no real solution
4. Tried to turn off and on contacts.....got nothing
5. Tried following steps what Yahoo recommends....got nothing
6. Turn the device on and off..... got nothing
Does anyone know what I should do to get my contacts from Yahoo again? Please help. Thanks.

Yes they are in the same location as before.
But anyway, I just managed to get the PDFs back on iBooks. As they were still showing up in iTunes on the ipod device, that meant they were there but not showing up in iBooks. So, I deselected all the files and re-synced to delete all the pdf data on the ipod. Then re-synced again to put all the same files back. And now it works!
So, for some reason the iBooks backup doesn't work with the new iOS update. And apparently the solution is to erase the old data and re-sync again!

Please please help ios 5 stuck in restore mode

Alright guys please help me im pulling my air out worried ive buggered my phone i knw there are lots of problems regarding ios 5 update but i cant do anything anymore i started downloading the update this morning all went ok phone went into that screen with the loading bar after the update had downloaded if that makes sense lol well the drivers started downloading then i had a error pop up cant remember which one and now my phone is in restore mode have been trying to restore all day what happens is i click restore it pops up do you want to restore and update i say yes the download starts at about 18 mins it gets to 3-4 minutes left and then my phone turns off and then the little silver apple symbol pops up then it goes back to restore mode and on the itunes it disconects then reconects interupting the download it carrys on but nothing happens when it downloads i dont know what to do liek ive been trying to sort it all day and im at a loss as struggling to find sum1 with the same problem as me please please help the phone is a 3gs

i totally understand you, i tried to solve this problem for 2 days (for ipad 1). couldn't manage to do it, so i gave it to the official technical support in Turkey. they tried for 2 days, still couldn't find anything. They said that they are going to check whether it has any hardware problem or what. but still, over than a year it did not give me any problems but now... =/ hope that a new update comes soon. or any official explanation would do fine.

No ideas, but I wanted to let you and the community know that following update of my iPad 2 to iOS 7.1, all three iWork apps crash within a second of opening.
Re-power and soft reset made no difference.

My daughter and I have our own iPads and iPhones with a separate Apple ID and email but her friends facetime her and it comes up on all devices since we upgraded to iOS 7. Why? I don't want her facetime or messages on my devices

OK, on all of your devices check the following:
Settings>FaceTime>You can be Reached At: make sure that only her email address is listed on her devices and only your email address is listed on yours.
Settings>Messages>Send & Receive: make sure that only her email address is showing on her devices and only your email address is showing on yours.

"Invitee" means an invited Person. This is the section where you list your "Invitees." It's not a bug, nor a spelling error. It's 100% correct as it is.

Does a restore help ios 4.0 performance on Touch 2G?

I have been experiencing slow performance with my touch since upgrading. I also can not use my Griffin RoadTrip in my car and was wondering if anyone experienced some improvements after restoring??
