Help! IP Profile stuck at .5mbps download, .83mbps...

Hi everyone!
I'm hoping someone can help me- about three weeks ago my phone went dead, and after more than a week of being messed about (including an engineer being supposedly "booked" and then not turning up due to an office error!) the faults (there were four) were fixed. I now have a working phone, but my internet is still unbearably slow. I used the BTW performance test (I'm a Plusnet customer)and it tells me that my IP profile is a measly .5mbps download and .83mbps upload. I think it must be "stuck" at the speed it had to run on while I only had the adsl line working-but how do I get it back up to its old speed-it used to be at least 4mbps download!
I'm hoping that someone, perhaps one of the mods, can illuminate me...
Thanks!
John Jones

as a plusnet customer you need to post on the plusnet forum nobody from BT Retail our ISP will be able to help you
however as you are on adsl2 your profile is not stuck as it changes as and when your connection speed changes.  your problem, without seeing your stats, appears to be all the problems with your line have resulted in a very low connection speed and therefore a low profile.  It should correct itself automatically with your noise margin dropping and your speed increasing - this could take 3/5 days

• My IP Profile is stuck at 5mbps

Good Morning,
I have had a stuck IP profile for the last couple of days and it is beginning to annoy me.
I called up BT India yesterday evening to report it and they said they would resest it and told me to restart the hub in the morning which I did this morning but there has still been no difference in the IP profile and the speed that the hub is syncing at has actually dropped slightly.

• IP Profile - is it stuck/restricting my download s...

After my recent extremely slow DL speed issues and intervention by the moderators, my BT Total Broadband now appears much better.
However, my IP line profile appears now to be stuck at 2000, even though I am syncing at over 3000.
Note: My previous ISP, Tiscali, provided me with a consistent 2500+ Kbps actual DL speed for 2 years.
My internal wiring/noise is OK according to the BT Openreach engineer and I have had the line checked and a new master socket fitted.
Please see below my latest BT Speedtest and ADSL Hub results from last night.
Below that is a another set of results recorded a week earlier on 14th November, which actually show my expected DL speed was being provided! How come this happened on only one occasion and since then has not repeated itself?  The hub is left on continuously and not switched off.
Is my Ip profile stuck and how can I get the jam cleared?
Any advice would be welcome...

After 15 days of uninterrupted syncing at 3000+ Kbps, my download speed is still  around 1500 Kbps, because my IP line profile remains stuck at 2000.  I know that this bottleneck on my line is at the BT end, as as I stated previously, my previous ISP (2 years +) and BT (3 months!) consistently delivered over 2500 Kbps DL speeds with absolutely no problems.
I am losing all faith in BT, as I am not getting the service promised (fastest possible line speed) when I signed up with them.  I have been very patient, but am regretting moving to BT from a very good previous ISP and am considering making serious complaints about the poor product delivered.

can i get help with 2 songs that i downloaded on my itunes? it didnt download, said there was an error and then is stuck at PURCHASED.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

• Adobe Community Help Application Updates - Stuck in download process

I read in the forums where people have had problems with the initialization of the download freezing, but my problem is that when I download the local updates... The download itself freezes. When I try to update everything at once, it hangs up every time, so I went to: Adobe Help -> Preferences -> Manually update my locally stored Help content. It lets me download almost all of the files one by one, but by the last couple of them, they start to freeze up. I read in the forums to throw away the application icon and then dump the chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1 folder from library -> preferences and empty my trash (I'm on a MAC... BTW). Then re-install the app from the website. It works until I get to the last couple of downloads... Then they freeze again. This is very frustrating. Is there another way to resolve this issue? I really would like my workflow back. Happy New Year! =)

The uninstall then re-install and download the files one by one thing worked, finally! It only took me two days to update a program that should've taken an hour... MAX! I hope this information helps out the next person that runs into this problem.

• Payload variables not working & Profiles stuck on 'Sending'

Hi all,
I've been trying to use Profile Manager to specify user e-mail accounts on Mac devices (eg, MacBooks) but I've been encountering a couple of problems. I've tried searching around and didn't find any answers.
First of all I'm running the latest Mountain Lion Sever. All clients have up-to-date Mountain Lion too.
Problem 1: Payload variables not working
I'd like to automatically setup Gmails on the MacBooks. Now the users' email addresses are already set to their gmail accounts. So all I have to be able to do is use the %email% payload variable as the username when I go set up the (IMAP) mail accounts in the Profile Manager. However, when I download the profile to the device, it does not convert the payload variable; ie, it tries to log into gmail with the username '%email%'. Other payload variables do not work either.
Oddly enough, the payload variables work as they should with iOS devices...
Problem 2: Profiles stuck on 'Sending'
After enrolling the devices, it seems a hit and miss whether the MacBook downloads the correct profiles from the server... Is there a way to force on the MacBook to update/refresh its profiles? Also, when I update profiles within Profile Manager, the changes are pushed to iOS devices fine but not to MacBooks. Those tasks are all stuck on Sending... Logging in, restarting etc. sometimes helps but not always... Is there a reason why?
Thanks in advance.

Same problem here. Some profiles are being sent, some are stuck on the server. I have no idea why this difference.
Any luck solving the issue?

• IS my BT IP profile stuck at 2000kbps?

Hi I have been on BT Broadband Option 3 continuously since early 2006 at the same address, and in mid-2007 I got BT Vision.
For as long as I remember (certainly over 1yr),  my connection shows as: 448/8,096.  I know as I go into the settings once every 2 weeks to activate/deactivate wireless and use my laptop.
I recently noticed that my neighbouring flats (live in central London) all get higher speeds. For the last few days I ran the speedtest. Below are the results, always very similar.
Could it be that I have a "stuck" IP profile which only allows 2,000kbps ???   If so what is the best way to sort this out without having to spent days on the phone?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you
steve

Thank you for your very prompt reply and advice.
I don't think waiting for 1-2 days will do anything really, my internet connection is as fast as it's always been.
I didn't run the speedtest because I noticed a temporary drop in speed as you suggest, just that I happened to be at the neighbouring flat and used their computer and the internet was flying!!  They are on the same BT package.   I got curious and used the speedtest and found out that my IP profile is at 2,000kbps, whereas the 'sync' speed is 8Gbps.  I don;t know what my profile was in the past, as I had never checked before, but I remember for a very long time the 'sync' speed was always 8Gbps.
Looking online I found a series of posts from 2008 about people having their IP profile stuck (always at 2000kbps), and that it somewhat coincided with those who activated BT vision in mid-2007 (like myself), due to some kind of BT exchange software bug, and horror stories about calls to india without any result, and having a hard time to get their profile reset.
However I'm willing to follow your adivice and wait a few more days. (True, I disconnected the router recently to put another filter  just in case, but genererally the router is on for months at a time.)
What I'd like to know however, is that if I'm always having   "sync=8Gbps, IP profile=2000kbps", /2008 bug, who do I contact?    Some of the information in the 2008 posts must be out of date, but they do mention speaking with BT Wholesale.
Does anyone know how to contact them?  Do I need to have an engineer have a look at it, or can they do it remotely?
Thank you.
PS: I only have one socket, all the flats in the block i live look the same so suspect have similar wiring, and i live in central london so i imagine the exchange must be near.

• Applications Stuck at 0% Downloading in Software Center

I'm currently utilizing a SCCM 2012 R2 environment with roughly 100 Distribution Points.  The problem I'm running into is that random Applications will get stuck at 0% downloading at a location for all client PCs.  This same application will have
no problem at a different location using a different DP.  The only remediation I could find was to redistribute the application to the specific DP.  Once this is done, the application downloads and installs without a problem.
What is frustrating is the fact that this appears to be happening to random applications.  It's never for an application in which all distribution points need to redistribute, it's always one single DP.  It also appears to be happening for random
DPs, it hasn't been the same DP ever.
Any suggestions would be extremely helpful, and I could provide additional information if need be.

• Application stuck at "Content Downloaded"

Hi..
i'm pushing out Office 2013 and have had good results, however there are still a number of clients that have downloaded the application, but are not installing it.
Admin console says:  Content Downloaded
Client Software Center says:  Past Due - Will be retried.
I setup the application deployment to be made available at 8PM last night, with a install deadline of 10PM, and for the most part it went fine.
At 11PM I triggered the Application Deployment cycle on the targeted collection and all the clients that were stuck at "content downloaded" started the install.
So my question is, what would cause this random group of clients to download the content, but not install it the deadline?

Hi,
Have you checked logs about application on the client? Such as AppIntentEval.log, AppEnforce.log? Any information? You could also check CAS.log, ContentTransferManager.log, DataTransferService.log and FileBITS.log.

• RE1000 - device is stuck at 5Mbps after upgrade to MediaCom

Even though I am using a Lilnksys router (WRT600N), this device just would not install. About 45 minutes with support got it going (including a sales pitch to buy the right to make more calls in the future). There are some unpublished setting changes that need to be made on the wireless router. It worked great for a couple of weeks; then started to get flaky. If you unplug/plug once a week or so, it will start back up working again. I upgraded my bandwith on MediaCom to their 50Mbps/5Mbps service. Suddenly, the device is stuck at 5Mbps/5Mbps. It may have something to do with the method MediaCom uses for the speedup. If you have another hard wire somewhere; a better option would be to just get another wireless router.

First of all please verify that you have got an 802.11n card in your computer. New generation devices speak an entirely different language than 802.11g cards. It is like having to translate from one language to another in real time when going from N to G... So in those cases the old router will show a stronger signal than the new one.
Most importantly, remember that in order to get the best performance from an RE1000 you need to place the extender in an area where you still have at least 50% signal strength to your router when you place it in the final location where the RE1000 will be used. To configure the RE1000 you will need to login to the UI after you have put the RE1000 in the final location to verify the signal strength below is a reminder about signal bars and what they mean as a reminder
For ALL configurations you should have between 2-3 bars of signal at the very least. If you have less bars then you need to move the RE1000 closer to the router. You can also check the status on the status page of the RE1000 as well. On the status page it measures both Signal Strength and Signal Quality. If either set of bars is red you must move the RE1000 closer to the Router.
Second, if the concern still persists then to get the best result you have to optimize the wireless settings on the router as well.
1. Connect to your router's admin interface. Usually 192.168.1.1. The default user-name is blank; default password is "admin" (without the quotes).
2. Click on the Wireless tab and do the following changes.
For Channel Settings of 2.4 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, 11..
For Channel Settings of 5 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 40 or 161...
3. Click on Save settings.
These configurations will help in getting good through put.

• Android Market Stuck at "Starting Download"

Hi everyone,
I tried to update the app "Soccer Livescores" yesterday but when i clicked the button, it got stuck at starting download.  Ive tried hitting cancel download, but it simple force closes the Market instead of stopping the download.  Restrating my phone hasnt helped either.
Any help apprectiated, thanks.

Hello Bruhaha. I have read your post and understand your concern with not being able to update your application on your device. You can re-program your device by dialing *228 press send and select option 1 to re-program. If this option does not work, a hard reset can be done on your device. Here are the steps to doing a hard reset.
Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings, and downloaded applications. Only perform this reset if absolutely necessary.
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located on the bottom of the screen).
Touch Settings.
Touch Privacy.
Touch Factory data reset.
Touch Reset phone.
Touch Erase Everything.

• Profile stuck again...

Ok..the electric blinked a couple of times this morning in the torrential rain...profile stuck again..I'm fed up to the teeth with this s**t...
CraigS (one of the mods) emailed me yesterday to inform me that my profile was being "rebuilt" (whatever that means)...everytime I even have the slightest resync my profile is stuck on the banded 2000kps and has to be manually reset...
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1845 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :4640 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2000 Kbps
It's giving thunder for Thursday so, no doubt it will be another disaster...can I have it reset please?
BTW...why is DLM CONSISTENTLY failing?

Thanks for the answer Craig...I have had a long term problem with REN...after spending much time on this forum debating it with a certain RogerB, we decided it was caused by an ovehead mains  11kv line which supplies a steel manufacturing business...this line (switches ?) at times and the hum from from it interferes with my broadband..
Like this Daily...
Unfortunately, I'm not rich enough to take on the power company (or the structural steel works) so when my noise margin (ineveitably) rises to 15+dB I forcibly reduce it with a telnet cmd using the routers broadcom chip...
Normally by balancing the two (with a 8dB over head on a 53dB loop lose line) I can maintain a 4500kps+ sync for weeks..
If, on accasion, have have a powersupply issue, or a thunderstorm, I can usually "twiddle" with things and be back to a 3-4 meg connection in 12-36hrs
Unforunatelly, I no longer seem to be able to do this as ANY disconnect IMMEDIATELY puts me on the 2 meg banded profile...
PS..we need RogerB back on the case
