Help ipad is disable from too many attempts on passcode
I forgot my passcode to my ipad after changing it from the four digit number to a typed word. I tried so many times that the ipad now says: "ipad is disabled connect to itunes." In need of help to enable my ipad because once i connected it to my computer It wont go pass the warning message telling me to unlock my ipad. What do i do???
You will need to restore the iPad via the computer that you normally sync to : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 . You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode first

1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -

A data recovery company MAY be able to do it for a price. The Disabled is a very good security feature.
JWhy not just restore from the last backup you have?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Do you have a backup? Transfer to new computer if you haven't already. A restore will wipe the contents.

as per title
I have tried the restore options advised to me and this gave me an error code. I followed the advice which told me to change host settings on my laptop. and then tried again. I got the exact same error code and my ipad is still disabled. This is my sons ipad and i will not be able to get to an apple shop for around two weeks. Any advice /help to avoid this trip to apple shop would be greatly appreciated.Sorry, I have no more tricks in my bag; hopefully this help.

HT4061 My new iPad Air is locked from too many attempts to log onto it.
The red power slider is not working. I installed iTunes and have no backup for the iPad yet. I tried plugging the USB into the PC and holding the upper shutdown/wakeup button and home button at the same time. When I saw the Apple icon I kept holding the home button as suggested and simultaneously plugged the other end of the USB cable into the iPad. I got a message from iTunes saying I could not connect to the iPad because it was locked with a passcode and You must enter the passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes. I did go on Apple and reset my apple password but I cannot get to any point where I can reenter this new password to unlock the iPad. Any ideas how I can unlock my iPad?
Yes. Before connecting to iTunes via USB cable, turn on your iPad, and unlock it (using passcode) and DO NOT TURN IT OFF before connecting it to your PC/Mac for Backup. After connecting it, Open iTunes on your computer, press the iPad logo on top right (or left: depending on what iTunes version you have) After pressing the iPad icon, press SYNC (you may have to scroll down a little).
Then, just wait till it gets fully synced and backupped, then eject the iPad, (By pressing a triangle and a line icon) when hovering over the iPad icon on the PC
Pressing the HOME and POWER at the same time when the iPad is asleep doesnt do anything special. Just try pressing the POWER button (top) for about 5 seconds to turn it on. If it doesnt work, press it for 7 seconds, or CHARGE it. -

How else can we enable the ipod touch again?Restore, if iTunes will let you. Everything except the password will be restored. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. In your case, choose any computer with iTunes software. Be forewarned that it takes a long time. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.

My Iphone 4 is disabled as a result of someone making too many attempts at guessing my passcode. I know my passcode and do NOT want to "restore" my phone. Is there a way for me to use my passcode to unlock it once it has been disabled?
Its frustrating because all of the help assumes you have forgotten your passcode, or that you can get in to your phone to get the ID number.

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

James5wins, you do not have to restore as new. Restoring from backup does NOT restore the screen-lock passcode. -
I would simply like to use the same e-mail address to use the sync option. After using an incorrect e-mail, I deleted that account. I am now getting an error message that states I have made too many attempts to create an account using the e-mail that I wanted to use. Thank you.
