Help: iPhone 3GS Stuck on Apple logo screen

Today my iPhone was not connecting to the wifi network so I decided to "Reset Network" on the iPhone. Well, during the reset, it went to the Apple logo screen and is stuck in that screen. I cannot turn off the phone, tried to reset pressing the home and on/off together for 10 seconds and it is still stuck on that screen. I tried to restore but iTunes does not recognize that the phone is plugged to the computer. Has anyone seen this? Do I have to send it to Apple for repair?

I have an iPhone 3Gs that is stuck on the apple logo screen. Tried doing all kinds of restores and putting it into DFU mode but iTunes wont recognize it and will not even boot up. Just simply stuck at the apple logo screen until the phone dies. Any ideas?

If none of those work, use all of these:

  • My Iphone 3g stuck on Apple logo screen, My Iphone 3g stuck on Apple logo screen

I purchased an Iphone 3G back in 2009, just recently it started giving me an issue with loading properly.
It will freeze with the Apple logo, and the loading circle underneath it, Ive tried all the hardboots, resets, etc...None of these have helped whatsoever.
I took it to the Apple store and they told me that it was an unrepairable hardware problem, and that I would have to throw out 269$ to get a brand new phone 3G,
So I said no..but a few days later I tried charging the phone again, and all of a sudden it works as if it were brand new. It has not given me any problems for weeks except since yesterday. It's doing the same thing all over again.
My dillemma now is should I,
    1) Pay out my contract ( which ends in October ) and buy the new Iphone 4, Cost me roughly 400$
    2) Wait until a new Iphone 4G comes out? ( Has anyone heard anything?? )
    3) Pay for a brand new Iphone regular, Cost me roughly 269$
    4) Any other options I have?
Any help would be greatly apperciated, as Im in such a frustrated position ;(

hey there. I had the same problem as you - seemed to be caused by a crash on the app store for me. I freaked out a little too, because iTunes was beachballing when I plugged it in, so I couldn't even get to the restore button under the iphone screen.
But, it turns out you can make the phone enter a full software restore mode, as described here:
    http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone-software/help-iphone-is-stuck-19333. html
"Plug your iPhone to the usb and then press and hold the power and the home button at the same time it will reboot but keep on pressing it next time it will boot,(let it boot twice while holding) an itune logo will appear and now you can restore, try it it works"
I have just restored the firmware etc now, which got my phone up and running again with factory settings, and now I am in the process of restoring from a backup (seems to be working, but it takes a long time I must admit).
    Good luck!

  • Iphone 5 Stuck at Apple Logo Screen

I finally updated my iphone 5 to latest ios when it begin to boot up. It got stuck at the apple logo screen and it been their for 30 mins i trun my phone off put it back on. I did a hard re-reset etc..
Also after a while it would go black real quick then return to apple logo screen.
I dont want to restore my phone because i dont have a recent backup for everything i have on my phone as of right now.
Is their any way i can backup my iphone at the apple logo screen then restore it?
Or any other methods to escape this apple logo screen of death?

Unfortunately, you are going to have to try to restore it. You will have to do this by putting your phone into DFU (recovery) mode.
    1. Open iTunes, plug your sync cable into your computer, but do not plug in your phone.
    2. Press and hold the power button and the home button at the same time. When the screen goes black, let go of the power button but continue to hold the home button for about 15 seconds. Once you do this, plug the sync cable into your phone.
    3. iTunes should recognize your phone and tell you it's in recovery mode.
    4. Restore your device.
    Hope this helps.

  • Iphone 4 stuck on apple logo screen

I have an iphone4. Its was updating apps and lock up. After 15 minutes or so i did a hard restart. Now its stuck on the apple logo screen. I did the hard restart holding down the home key and connecting it to my mac. Itunes says in in recovery mode and ask if i want to restore. I click yes. It goes to the extracting software and then verifing with apple. After that back to the apple logo screen. Any ideas?

    The same problem Here, BUT
    I can't restore my iphone.
I put my iphone in DFU mode, i conect it to iTunes i start the process, but it gets stucked in "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple".
Then nothing happens, just after a few minutes later it appears the error Message and of course my iphone continues stocked.
Anyone knows what can i do?

  • IPhone 4 stuck in Apple logo screen

I have an iPhone 4, that I had to replace the LCD, power switch - proximity sensor cable, and home button on.
After I had made the repairs (after making sure everything was reassembled correctly) I then proceeded to turn the device on.
Now it will only display the Apple logo at startup.
When I turn the phone off (via the Home + Sleep/wake method) it will sometimes revert back to the Apple logo screen.
I have reset the phone (gone through recovery mode) at least 5 times to correct the issue, yet it still is not working correctly.
The only software change that had been made to it, was that I had updated it to the most recent version of iOS. And that was approx. 2 weeks before the issues with the phone.
Is there another solution to fixing this phone, or is it basically done?
(If I can, I really need to get this phone fixed (if at all possible).
    Thank-you.

    Thank-you for the reply.
I have checked the charging port. It checked out to be good.
I then checked the following flex connectors:
Digitizer - it checked out ok
LCD - While it did check out ok. I wonder if it might have a defect in it. (because it does flicker)..
    Earpiece - checked out ok.
Front Camera - checked out ok.
Power switch / proximity sensor cable.- Bad...
During my testing of the phone, any time I would turn the power on to the phone. If I unplugged the connector for the power switch. The iOS would continue to load, but if I left it plugged in. Then it would stay on the Apple logo.
I will reply to this thread after I receive the replacement part, and I have had a chance to check it out (to make sure that takes care of the problem.

This error is a result of the jailbreak. There is no support for that from Apple. Speak with whoever modified your phone.

  • IPhone 3gs Stuck in apple logo cycle even after restore!!

I hope someone can help me with this. I was given an iphone 3gs to repair for my girl friend (the hold button had fallen off) I've succesfully repaired it but now the phone is stuck in a boot loop. I have fallowed all directions and succesfully restored the phone to factory settings with recent updates. The phone shows up on itunes as would any iphone when plugged in by USB, in that respect it functions as it should. The problem is that the screen only every shows one of three images; The apple logo, the revolving circle or the 'connect to itunes screen'.
Can anyone please help me get it up and running properly? It makes no sense that that everything functions correctly except the screen. And it's not even that the screen itself is broken!
I'm just plain confused at this point.

I also discovered that If I push it to DFU and then use Recboot to exit it it will show 4 lines from the console over the logo and than screen turns black until the battery will die.

  • 3gs stuck at Apple Logo, only on car charger

    I bought a used iphone 3gs
Girl said it was dropped in water, she dried it for a few days in rice, and it will turn on.. but as soon as you remove the cable it turns off.  Battery right?  So I buy it from her, plug it into my iphone 4 rapid carger and nothing....  I get out my standard iphone charger that I have, and as soon as I plug it in it the logo shows up.  So I called the girl.. does it actually turn on, I ask her.... she says yes.. after 20 min it wont turn on.
I pugged it in 3 different chargers, and docking stations---- Nothing
I connect it to cable to computer, it doesn't turn on, Itunes does not open and the comptuer doesn't regonize there is a device.
I brought it back out to the car and plugged it in and the apple logo comes on again
The wall and docking station are 1.0 amp chargers
The car charger is a dual usb charger, if I recall its 1.0 each slot.... it charges ipods, touches 3 and 4 and my iphone 4
When I plug it into the dockign station, its almost like I hear a faint clicking noise
Thats all the details I can think about for this problem
It seems like quite the task to take out the battery, and put in a new one... I wanted it as a touch ipod for my bedroom that would simply stay on the charger.
    Thanks!

  • My iphone 4g stucks on apple logo

I had upgraded my IPhone 4 software version 4.3 to 5.0 two days back but today evening when I restarted my phone, it stuck on Apple logo screen and did't bootup. When I'm attaching it with my PC it gives a maqssage on Itunes
" Itunescould not connect to the Iphonebecause it is locked passcode. You must enter your passcode on the Iphone beforeit can be used with itunes"
But on Iphone screen I'm not able to see any activity except apple logo.
    Kindly suggest.

Try to reset by pressing and holding the sleep/wake button and the home button for 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears, ignore the red slider.  Then turn back on. You won't lose any data doing the reset.

  • HT201442 iPhone 3gs ''Stuck in Recovery Logo'' and''iTunes Error 3941''

''iPhone 3gs Stuck in Recovery Logo'', and If Recovery The iPhone it will reboot and back to recovery Logo and then ''iTunes Error 3941''
    sorry for bad english

This is what I posted to someone else having an update issue... Just for your information:
I having the same issue about the and iTunes says "The iPhone cannot be  restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could  not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.". I've had the  iPhone  3GS since it came out. It was working fine until I just tried to  update  it. It has NEVER been hacked or jailbroken. WE AND A FEW OTHERS are  having  the same issue then it is more than likely that this is an  update issue.  I took mine to the Apple store and the tech tried to  update it and he came to the same problem and told me he couldn't  update it. My assumption is that we are not the only one's with this  issue and that if  there was a way to update it to the update before  this last one it  might be a solution. I don't know how to get the  previous update. Apple  probably is aware of the problem, and hasn't  come up with a solution yet. Or, enough people haven't complained yet.  The tech suggested that  there might be something wrong with the phone  itself, but that couldn't  be since it was working perfectly before I  updated it and others are  having the same issue. It is highly unlikely  that a lot of people are having the same hardware issue all of a  sudden at the same time. Apple/iTunes needs to fix this... and hopefully soon
Also:  I can update or restore my iPhone 5 and other iPhones so it is not an  issue with my firewall or other software on my computer. No one touches  my iPhone or my computer they are secure, locked all the time, and I  have no jailbreak software on my computer (Apple tried it and they are  clueless at the moment from what I can tell).

my iphone is stuck at apple logo , what should i do ?

    Hello Usmanoo7,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
You may need to perform a recovery-mode restore if the device displays the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar for over ten minutes.
    Best of luck,
