Help!!! Iphone 5 not sending SMS

Hi I've had this issue for the last two weeks... I can send iMessages and receive SMS but I cant send SMS to any number in my address book.
The sending bar moves about 95% then it tells me that its "Not Delivered".
I've spoken to my network provider and tried a few different things but nothing has helped. I've got the latest software so there shouldnt be any glitches there.
Can anyone suggest another method which might get it working again?

Let's see what else we've missed
Assuming you're on GSM (AT&T or T-Mobile) and have text messaging plan active, make sure that Settings > General > Cellular Data is switched On, and for the purpose of troubleshooting, switch Off "Enable LTE", and switch On "Data Roaming". See if that works.
You can also send a free SMS/text message to your provider to see if there's an issue with your contacts' numbers.
For AT&T, go to the dial pad and enter *DATA# (*3282#) and tap Call.
For T-Mobile, go to dial and enter #MSG# (#674#) and tap Call.
If you get a response text back fro myour provider, then I would check your contacts' phone number to make sure it's not missing a digit or include an extra prefix.
Otherwise, I would take a look at the iOS: Troubleshooting Messages (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755) article, as it has plenty helpful information regarding this issue.
I hope that helps and resolves the issue. Good luck!

  • Why Does the iPhone not send/receive MMS?

Why Does the iPhone not send/receive MMS? this in the works?

"Why Does the iPhone not send/receive MMS?"
Apple chose not to offer this as a feature of iphone. E-mail can accomplish the same thing.
    "is in the works?"
This has been asked and answered countless times. The forum search bar is on the right side of this page.
Apple has announced that MMS will be included in the 3.0 software due out this summer. Before you ask, all that has been announced is in this link:

  • Iphone 5 not sending sms to 1 contact

bought the iphone 5 last month and i am on EE. about 2 weeks ago my phone stopped sending sms to one contact. I receive theirs but they never get mine. ive reset phone back to factory settings, reset network settings, deleted and readded contact and still nothing. EE claim its common problem with iphone 5 on this ios setting but have no info on how to fix it. any help is greatly appreciated.

It says they are sent from my end, no exclamation marks at all. The other person has got a nokia (i think, looks like an imitation of the blackberry) and is on tesco mobile. i have gone through their phone and theyve not blocked me, i can still make calls to them fine. As far as i am aware, this is the only contact they dont send to. I have looked online and have seen some iphone users claiming it is a glitch with the iOS setting??

  • Iphone 4s IOS 7.0.3 Not sending SMS

My new Iphone 4s will recieve text messages but not send them, let me be clear I am referring to SMS not iMessage, I know there are problems with that. I have turned off iMessage but I still cant send texts.

IF you're still unable to send SMS messages after following the troubleshooting articles you may need to get in contact with Apple; however before you do
WHen your estored the iPhone did you set it up as a new device via iTunes or did you restore from your backup. If you restored from you backup then you possibly brought the problem right back D:

  • Can not send SMS text message.

Hi, I'm a BlackBerry user for 4 years now and this is the first time that I have a problem with SMS text messaging. My precious BB is a Q10.
The problem is that I can receive SMS messages but I can not answer and I can not send messages. When I tap the 'send' icon or press Enter nothing happens. My message dissapears and i can not see in the upper window, below the message that I've previously receive and I wanted to aswer for.
Also, I can compose SMS message, but when I press Enter or tap send, nothing happens. No message in the hub, or in the text messages folder.
I've rebooted the device, reloaded the OS, but didn't help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • IPhone not sending POP mail?  Here's a work-around.

Like some other people out there, I haven't been able to get the Mail App on the iPhone to talk nice to my POP email host's server. It receives mail just fine, but will not send. I've tried all the fixes I could find suggested out there, and had several back-and-forths with my server host's tech support, and then spent (literally) two hours with an upper level Apple tech trying to get the device and server working together . . . to no avail.
Until such time as my server opens up a new hole and allows easier access . . . or until Apple figures out some way to penetrate the pinpricks that are already there . . . I've come up with a reasonably good work-around that might be helpful for some of the others out there who are having similar issues.
    It's a little convoluted, but it's easy to do, and there's no hacking/tinkering . . . so just follow it step-by-step.
    1. Create a Gmail Account. Ultimately, you'll be sending your regular POP account mail through their server . . . so you'll need a Gmail Account.
    2. Once that's created, there's an option to: "Use Gmail to send from your other email addresses" . . . and we're gonna get that set up now. To do that, log into your Gmail Account. Then go to Settings (at the top-right of screen). Then go to Accounts (the second Tab over). Then, where it says: "Send Mail As:", click on the option to "Add another email address". That'll open up another box that let's you fill in the name and email address of an alternative email account. Put your primary POP email account information here.
    3. Gmail will then take you through a brief verification process, to determine if, indeed, you actually have access to the POP email account that you're trying to "spoof". Just follow the instructions.
    4. Now, let's fix our iPhone's settings so that our POP account can use Gmail's Outgoing SMTP mail server. Go to your Mail Settings, and select your POP account (assuming you've already got one created that has the Incoming mail part working just fine). Scroll down to your Outgoing Mail Server settings, and either turn off your delinquent primary server and add a new server with the settings I'm about to give you. Or, what I did was, just change your primary server info to the following:
    5. Here's the server settings that will work:
    Host Name: smtp.gmail.com
User Name: use your full gmail email address
    Password: use your gmail password
    Use SSL: Turned On
    Authentication: Password
    Server Port: 587
    6. Now, you should be able to send mail from your POP account through the Mail App on the iPhone, using Gmail's SMPT server as a proxy. You can already use the AT&T outgoing server settings in this same way, actually . . . but only when you're on the AT&T network (Edge or 3G) . . . not when you're on a Wi-Fi network.
Truth is, this trick would work even if we didn't do Step #2 and Step #3 . . . but then the email that we sent from the iPhone would have our Gmail Account information in the headers of our sent email, rather than our POP accounts reply-to information. Following Steps #2 and #3 make it appear as though the mail was still sent from our primary POP account.
Hope that's useful for someone else out there, that's been knocking their head against a wall trying to get their mail up and running. I'll post this on a few forums.
    All the best --
    D

I don't get any pop-ups anywhere nor any menus (if there are supposed to be some). The code is rather messy, also, with all those on-the-fly definitions for styles and endlessly long JavaScript actions. Quite possible that the links override one another. Not to ruin your day, but I'd definitely start from scratch with an empty page and a clean style sheet for the various elements. IMO that's the only way to get this working properly.

  • Iphone not sending/receiving on 3G after Mac server upgrade

The Company I work has its own dedicated Mac Server which acts as an email server and a server for the Filemaker program and it was on version 10.6.8 and for a Filemaker upgrade it needed a system update, So I updated the system to 10.8.4, the update itself went through without any problems,
Once the update was finished, I applied the server app, it took a while but that worked as well, the Filemaker program was working, However the emails were not working, but after contactingthe person who originally configured emails who is also an apple engineer, it took him a few hours to sort it but it was fixed and the emails started to work great
The Emails are working on almost everything, however my colleagues who had IPhones could not send or receive over 3G but they would work over Wi-Fi but other phones such as HTC, Samsung would work fine over 3G for the emails, just the iPhones wouldnot. I checked the settings which were working perfectly before the update,  but are not working now, I deleted a email account from the iPhone and tried to re add over a 3G connection and the verification process goes through ok when adding the account, but when the mail tries to sync, it just times out
the phone carrier for 3G is EE (orange and T-Mobile)
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

I have had the same problem, here is the fix. Go to settings/messages/ where is says send and receive/ click your apple ID/ a option box will pop up, click CHANGE LOCATION/ choose united states

  • Macbook will not send SMS to some contacts

I have an iPhone 6 and have synced it with my iPad Mini and my Macbook Pro 2012. I have no troubles with SMS or iMessage on my iPad or my phone but, for some reason, my macbook will not send messages to a select few SMS contacts.

I realize my Macbook cannot send any SMS on its own nor can the iPad. That should be common sense for everyone by now. I have that feature but it is on and off for one specific contact and I just can't figure out how to fix it. could it be on their end?

  • IPhone not sending deviceID in activesync request

    Hi,
Does anyone know if the iphone is sending it's deviceID upon activesync communication? We're using a security system from Portwise acting as a extra security layer between the device and our exchange server. We have no problems with other mobile operating systems such as windows mobile, android etc, but with iphone the syncronization fails. The log files states that the iphone is not suppying it's device identification id which must be a bug in the activesync implementation? We're using SSL encryption.
This has been a problem since the first version of iPhone OS and has not been solved in 3.0. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Anders

Try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings. once the phone restarts try sending a picture again
