!!HELP!! Iphone4 battery problem, water damaged.

My phone is showing (for example) 27% battery, then turning off, then turning its self back on, then showing 2%,then turning off, then showing 56%,then staying on for a few hours and not going down at all no matter how much it is used.when charging the percent does not increase even after 6 hours on charge then will start going up and down when it turns itself off/on. The phone was dropped in water but was left to dry out and was fine initially. It also says "no sim" sometimes. Is this a battery problem or a problem with the actual phone? everything else on the phone works great, no lcd damage, no mic/speaker/camera problems. It is very strange. Any ideas? Also, the apple service charge of £126, does this cover more than one problem? As the glass on my screen is also smashed, would this be £252 to get both issues fixed?
Thank you for any info you may have,
Alan.

The Out of Warranty fee is not to "fix" issues, it is for a replacement device.

  • Iphone4s Battery problem

Hi, I'm using my phone more than a year.
Recently, my phone battery starts to drain so fast.
I went to apple store and they said it's battery problem.
But I found that whenever I turn on the cellular, the battery drains fast.
If i turn it off, the bettery stays long..
Is this still battery problem ? or software problem?
or actually the phone is running some application ?

I don't think so. However you can follow these steps to extend the life of your iPhone battery.

  • Iphone4 battery problem after ios6 upgrade

drastic reduction of battery life after upgrade to ios6 . Help

This seems to be a major problem for all IPhone 4 users, apple will definitely repair this in the next update. For know you can:
Adjust brightness: Dimming the screen is another way to extend battery life. Go to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper and drag the slider to the left to lower the default screen brightness. In addition, turning on Auto-Brightness allows the screen to adjust its brightness based on current lighting conditions. Go to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper and set Auto-Brightness to On.
Turn off push mail: If you have a push mail account such as Yahoo! or Microsoft Exchange, turn off push when you don't need it. Go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data and set Push to Off. Messages sent to your push e-mail accounts will now be received on your phone based on the global Fetch setting rather than as they arrive.
Fetch new data less frequently: Applications such as Mail can be set to fetch data wirelessly at specific intervals. The more frequently e-mail or other data is fetched, the quicker your battery may drain. To fetch new data manually, from the Home screen choose Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data and tap Manually. To increase the fetch interval, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data and tap Hourly. Note that this is a global setting and applies to all applications that do not support push services.
Turn off push notifications: Some applications from the App Store use the Apple Push Notification service to alert you of new data. Applications that extensively rely on push notifications (such as instant messaging applications) may impact battery life. To disable push notifications, go to Settings > Notifications and disable notifications for select applications. Note that this does not prevent new data from being received when the application is opened. Also, the Notifications setting will not be visible if you do not have any applications installed that support push notifications.
Minimize use of location services: Applications that actively use location services such as Maps may reduce battery life. To disable location services, go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services or use location services only when needed.
I hope my answer was usefull, if so do not forget to click (this helped me) or (this solved my question), thank you!

  • Please help C905 battery problem

    Hello
I passed my C905 down to my daughter.  Then last week the battery died (we thought) so I replaced it. It won't charge just says 'cannot charge battery use sony ericsson battery' which I have! Have two chargers and tried different sockets to no avail.  Please help!!!

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/mobilephones/downloads/c905?cc=gb&lc=en This could be a software issue, so if one of the batteries is still at least partially charged, you can try running the SE update service and/or a phone repair via PC companion, both of which require the phone to be switched off.You might also want to clean the battery contacts inside the phone.Hope this resolves the problem.

  • PLEASE HELP WITH BATTERY PROBLEM!!

I recently swicthed from the 8830 which was a wonderfull phone. MY curve from sprint, 8330 is dead every day by 5 pm. I already exchanged the phone and had the battery replaced (third battery) I used my 8830 with the same applications and the most it would be by like 50-70 percent.  I dont know what to do. The curve is SUPPOSED TO  get better battery life! but actually is not. Its become a non realiable phone for me. Its still under my 30 days. Even though i already swaped it once. I do not want to get rid if this phone. I love the blackberry i just need the battery to last me either the same or better than the 8830 as blackberry promised....
I have read forums in closing the applications but even when i do its still the same. I occasionally do get the hour glass problem and it does lag quite a bit.  Does any one know of a battery issue?? Has to be???
I let it die last night and recharged it completely - as some of you recommended. I will try it today but my hopes arent to high ....
    Please help.
    Thank you

  • IPhone problems, water damage

Hey there, I need some help on what to do with my phone. I dropped it in water for roughly 5 seconds. After that it would not turn on so I disassembled it and used a blowdryer on it for an hour. Now, my speakers won't play any sounds, my screen has grey spots underneath it, the 'this accesory is not compatabile...' message appears every so often even thiugh nothing is plugged in and it shuts off every so often randomly. How can I fix this and if I can't, is this covered under warranty? Cheers.

Accidental damage is not covered under the iPhone's warranty. Apple's warranty for the iPhone is a limited manufacturer's warranty, not insurance.
Sounds like there is hardware damage which could affect a number of components. No one here or remotely can determine which component or components are damaged.
Apple offers an out of warranty or not covered under the warranty "repair" price, which pays for an exchange at a discounted price off the full retail sales price. The cost in the U.S. is $199 plus applicable sales tax. This pays for an exchange - for the same model.
Or you can contact a 3rd party repair service which will need to have the iPhone on hand to inspect and run a diagnostic check to determine which components are damaged and need to be replaced along with the cost.

  • Fixed my iphone4s battery problem, how about you?

so I too ran into the now infamous iphone 4s, heah my phone is dead, in 4 hours problem.
tried a bunch of random garbage, turn all the cool stuff off, nope.
so I downloaded an activity monitor (not sure it matters which one, but one that shows CPU usage).
wow my brand new iphone 4s was using 70% to 80% of the CPU solid, no dropping down at all.  no wonder the battery is going so fast.
starting turning things off check monitor, turn back on, check monitor.
Meanwhile I have an ICloud account, but storage and backup has always been off and never turned on.
so I thought hey ICloud is off right?  wrong!
With iCloud off I went to a setting called documents and data (settings->icloud->documents and data->documents & data) and turned it
off (keep in mind everything else is on, GPS, push notifications, siri, the works).
and what do you know CPU went from 80% to 1%.  battery went from 4 hours to now all day, using the phone, playing games, talking on the phone
and after all day its still nearly full green.  Im thinking I can go two days without a charge now unless I talk on it more.
so your mileage may vary, so if the documents and data doesnt work for you it will still be a good idea to get a monitor otherwise
your wasting your time turning things on and off without knowing if its doing any good.
end result, everything is on, one thing (well two, icloud and documents and data) off, problem solved.
another point, is after messing with this its clearly a software problem and not a hardware problem.
good luck to everyone and hope this helps.

When you turned off the setting for Documents and Data did you get a warning that all docs and data would be deleted from your phone, and if so what was actually deleted?

  • HELP! BATTERY PROBLEMS, I THINK...

    Hey,
Got problems with my MacBook Pro battery. It started when I noticed it was taking a REALLY super-long time to charge...I would leave it plugged in over night and in the morning, it would still be at 63%. Then, it would say it was fully charged, so I'd unplug it and work on it, and it would just go dead, even though I had more than half a battery left (at least according to the status icon). This has happened several times, and it doesn't start back up unless I plug it in.
To make matters worse, just this morning, I spilled hot coffee all over the laptop and now it's really giving me problems...it's on and working but it will just go out even though it's plugged in, and it takes a really long time to start up again.
Do I need to buy a new battery or calibrate or ??????? Can I get it back to normal?

Oh, that's really bad. You are probably never going to get that machine to be back to normal again.
Those grains can get in between the circuits and any left over residue that dries on it can short the circuits on it.
Time to move the hard drive out of your machine and put it in a replacement. Hopefully your homeowners insurance will cover that. Never let food nor drink near your computer.

  • Help Needed.Battery problem

    Hello,
I desperately need help for my iphone.Sometimes iphone shows that battery is empty. The battery's life is fine but sometimes when i press the power or home button so that iphone comes out of stand by it shows no battery, if i try again after a while battery is fine. Please help because i lose some calls or sms's because of this.

Reboot the phone now and then (just good practice)
To Reboot. Press and hold both the Lock and Home buttons. Do not let go when it says Slide to Turn Off. Keep holding until you see the Apple Logo, then you can let go. This is a full reboot of the OS. No data will be lost. Takes about 10seconds of button holding and maybe 30secs to min to reboot.

  • HT4061 I am living in Pakistan, Lahore. I have purchased an Apple Iphone 5S online from apple store. I am facing water damage problem and there is no apple store here in Pakistan, How can I repair my phone from apple service center? Please help me

I am living in Pakistan, Lahore. I have purchased an Apple Iphone 5S online from apple store. I am facing water damage problem and there is no apple store here in Pakistan, How can I repair my phone from apple service center? Please help me

Take it to an authorized service center or Apple Store in the country where the phone originated.  Apple does not sell iPhones in Pakistan, nor will they ship them to Pakistan.

  • Iphone 4 was water damaged has had new battery as wasnt charging and new docking port and it comes on to apple logo now then off after 10 to 15 secs and reboots any help please

water damage iphone 4 was coming on when plugged in but not charging and not holding any power so changed battery it then worked untill battery power ran out and would not charge so changed the docking port and now it comes on with apple symbol and switches back off after 10 to 15 seconds like its rebooting and then just keeps repeating any help please

Help with what? Apple does not repair iPhones, they replace them. Apple does not sell parts. There are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts.
Talk to whoever did the initial repair.  Odds are the logic board is damaged.  It's probably time for a new phone.
Your phone is no longer eligible for a discounted out of warranty replacement.

  • How to fix water damaged iphone4

Hey guys, my brother by mistake got into the pool with my iphone4, so when we realized, we quickly got the phone out  and tried to dry it...
By then we were in the hotel and we didn't have rice, so my friend told me to wrap it in paper towel and try to turn it on later...so we tried it and it still doesn't work..so when I got home from the hotel I put in rice....then I tried to turn it on later it still didn't turn on but when plugged into the charger to charge and u press the sleep wake button to turn on, it turns on but then gets stuck on the apple logo and then after some time it goes blank...
PLEASE HELP! I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, AND I DON'T HAVE A WARRANTY ..so after that happens my uncle then guesses it's the battery problem, so he tries another battery but only turns on when u plug it in to charge but still gets stuck on the apple logo..PLEASE HELP ME
PS. MY BATTERY WAS NOT LOW WHEN THE PHONE GOT IN WATER, it was in an okay percent

Exactly what is wrong - cannot say, but some things that do go wrong with water dunking - battery shorts out and dies, powering on while wet can short logic board components, including the solid state storage, the touch screen is damaged to the point of not working.  There have been cases where users have placed the iPhone in a bag of dry, uncooked rice for a week to ten days and let the rice absorb the water.  But, any attempt to power the unit before it is completely dry almost always causes damage to the circuitry.
Opening the iPhone and replacing the battery is absolutely forbidden by Apple...that is an immediate loss of all support from the Apple store genius bar and Apple support centers.
