Help! iPhone6 froze and won't turn off

HElp!  I was just setting my alarm in my iPhone to wake me up and while editing the alarm the phone became very slow in responding to my touch screen commands, and finally completely froze.  The screen is full brightness, and I cannot power down, cannot do anything.  I plugged the phone into my laptop thinking that an iTunes synch might wake it, but ttunes didn't even see the phone connected.  I called my iPhone from a Landline and i got voicemail after four "rings"-  the one didn't ring or anything.
What can I do?
just wait for the battery to die?

Try resetting your phone. Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

  • My  Iphone is frozen on the download screen and won't turn off, how do I fix it?

I tried to download the IOS 5.0.1 and for some reason the screen froze and won't turn off. I tried shutting it off, but it won't do anything. Any ideas?!

This happened with my phone also.  I unplugged it from the computer, and held down both the on / off key and the centre command key for about 20 seconds.  This then restarted the phone and allowed me to restore it through itunes.  Hope this helps

  • My iPod Classic 160 is in disc mode and won't turn off, itunes doesn't recognize it - ¿how can I make it work again?

My iPod Classic 160 is in disc mode.  I responds to nothing.  iTunes doesn't recognize it.  It doesn't sync.  I've tried to restore and got error 1429.  Now it just stays in disc mode and won't turn off.  I'm keeping it connected to the charger so it doesn't go dead.  Is there anything I can do to resurrect my pod?

To get out of disk mode do a iPod Hard Reset.
Toggle the Hold switch till you dont see the red mark.
Press Menu and Center buttons simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON then release the buttons
    Select your preferred language.

I 5c fell in toilet and won't turn off. have it in rice, how long will it take?

How long will what take? You should leave the phone in rice for at least 4-5 days. At that point, plug the phone in and let it charge for about 15 minutes and see if it turns on. Accept the fact your phone will probably never work properly again.

    Try to Reset your device.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button (I know you think it's broken, but try) and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).

  • HELP with restrictions AND the passcode 'turn off' option won't appear. How do I fix both problems?

    Hi,
Since updating to the iOS 7.0.2 I have lost the ability to turn off the passcode lock. I put in my passcode and usually the "turn off" option would be available and I reenter my password a couple of time and I can turn it off. It doesn't even give me that option now. The feature is inaccessible. The Simple passcode option is not available either. I like to turn off the passcode lock when I'm at home because I find entering my passcode all the time when I'm at home quite annoying. I also noticed that it says the restrictions are 'on' and I have no idea how they were turned on and have no idea how to turn it off. I don't even know what the restrictions do. I tried typing in what I thought was the password and now have 4 failed attempts. I'm afraid I'm going to get locked out of my phone.
Do I have to reset my phone? Will that even work? What happened and what do I need to do to fix it? HELP!

The Restriction issues should be separate from the Passcode issue. If you cannot remember the Restrictions passcode, the only option is to restore the phone as new, and not use a backup. The Restrictions passcode is contained in the backup.
The Passcode issue. Is this Exchange account from work? If so, the Exchange administrator would be someone from the IT department. They can require a mandatory passcode on the device. It could very well be something from your username/password at work, but they should have advised you of that. Try turning the Exchange account off and then do a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, see if you get access to the passcode settings. If so, then it is the Exchange account. You can turn it back on after that, but you will need to get information from the Exchange administrator. They could possibly be able to change Restrictions, so I would ask about that as well. If you cannot get a Restrictions passcode, as I said earlier, the only choice is to restore the phone as new, and then you would have to sync your content back individually.

  • Macbook Pro suddenly shuts off. screen goes black and won't turn off till after a few hours.

    Hi everyone!
So I've had this problem from my macbook since months ago. It sometimes just shuts off by itself, the screen turning black and won't turn on until like after a few hours (sometimes a day, but sometimes you could also immediately open it just like that.)
When it shuts off and you plug the adapter it is still charging, the lights on the side of the macbook book still lights up just fine if you press the button on the side. the only problem is that it wont open until after a few minutes, hours or days (very unpredictable) (also tapping the macbook helps, I dont know if it "really" helps or not, but it works sometimes.) But when it open it will be working fine until another couple of weeks or 3 or a month (again unpredictable)
I dont know what's wrong with my laptop, please help me. It would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much in advance!

Hold the power button down for 10+ seconds.  Then bring the MBP to an Apple store for an evaluation.
    Ciao.

  • The screen on my iPod touch is white and won't turn off and on?

I was charging my iPod and forgot about it after a couple days and now my screen is white and won't turn on and off and I held hold button and button on screen for 10 seconds and it didn't do anything. HELP

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod touch is disabled and won't turn off, itunes doesn't recognize the device and i can't see the serial number on the back

My NOSY (now ex) husband did something to my ipod touch and it is now disabled. It was dead and I charged it and NOW the sucker won't turn off. When I connect to itunes i see a message that says i have to UNLOCK it with a passcode. I tried to get apple support but they want my serial number. Well...the ipod wont turn on!!! I've had it at least 6 years and have moved and I can't find my paperwork and WHO can read that serial number on the back? I know its kind of outdated (third generation, I believe)but its mine, I love it and it has ALL my music on it.

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

  • 30gb ipod video. brand new. just out of box and won't turn off

I did everything as the instructions said. I installed the software then connected the ipod. It will not turn off, so naturally it won't reset. It is stuck on the screen with different languages and i don't see how re-installing the software is going to help me turn off the ipod. I feel like an idiot now for buying one.

Let charge your iPod for a while, for the time being, read the following which you find helpful
