Help!! iphoto consolidated all of my events into one event!

15 years of organization all ruined!! What can I do? Is there a "go back" or history fix for this?
I have not down a recent time machine back up. Am I screwed? If I auto-split the events, that might be just as bad. I have organized all of these photos by hand over the years.

1 - iPhoto does not change organization - users do - you may have done something inadvertenly
2 - with no backup you have no backjup - the reason you must always have a backup is to "go Back" after an error - be it user, software or hardwary - no matter the reason with no backup you have no backup and no way to go back
3 - since you have made the choice not to have a current backup your choices now are to autosplit or do it manually again
4 - I strongly suggest that you start having Time Machine running all the time so you have an hourly backup available for the future - bad things will happen again sooner or later - and next time it may be total loss of everythign - not just of yoru organization

Ipod consolidated all of my playlists into one

While updating Ipod consolidated all of my playlists into one. And I thought if I got rid of the super playlist it would have to go back to the regular system. The library and all the other playlists are still intact but now it says, "Ipod cannot update becasue there are no songs in the playlist." But there are songs there and there are songs in the library as well. What's wrong? What happened? What did I do wrong?

Open iTunes prefs -> iPod.
it should be set to Auto update only selected playlists.
Select the playlists you want to go onto the iPod.

ICal consolidated all of my calendars into one! No undo option!

I have four calendars in my iCal, I did this so I could publish just one of these to my .Mac account. Things seemed to be going okay, I had three calendars turned-off from view by unchecking them, as I started to look at the calendar I got the spinning rainbow beachball of death and tried clicking on the iCal window, nothing, so I double-clicked, still nothing (iCal is still open with events from the checkmarked calendar showing, beachball still spinning).
Beachball stops spinning and now every single one of my events have been placed into the calendar I was viewing! The other calendars are empty, it consolidated all of the events into one calendar. There is no undo option. I didn't even know iCal could move events from one calendar to another enmass like that. So now I'm stuck, my last iCal backup was a week ago and many events have changed, I sync with both my Palm Treo and .Mac so I don't want to mess those calendars up. And even if I owned an iPhone this would be a major problem.
At the very least, is there a way I can change all iCal events en-mass again to a specific calendar? Then at least I can move single events to the proper places to recover from this mess. Why doesn't Apple provide an option in iSync to completely overwrite my desktop with handheld data? You can overwrite the handheld with the desktop data but not the other way around. I have my handheld PDA available much more often than my desktop so that calendar and Address book is much more up to date all the time. I hate iCal it's one of Apple's most inelegant apps with the poorest user interface.

Okay, I believe I figured-out how to change events to different calendars en masse. But iCal seems to be choking on the changes.
1. Click on Results List button on the bottom (third from the right).
2. Select events to change (there is no Select All option in Edit, though you can click on the 1st event, then SHIFT-click on the last event if you want to select a block, or COMMAND-click to add/remove individual events from the selection)
3. Right-click (or Control-click) on the selected events to bring-up the contextual menu.
4. Go to calendars and select the calendar to attach the events to.
Now this should work, but iCal completely chokes on doing a large group of events. Small bunches do work but iCal is so inefficient it can't make the changes I need.
Anyone else got a good solution? Other than: Buy a MacBook Pro?
For the time being I'm switching back to Now Up To Date, the best calendar for the Mac. I gave iCal a shot but NUTD is vastly superior. Maybe when Mac OS 10.5 and Time Machine comes out I'll give iCal another try.

Your user info says iPad. This is the OS X Numbers forum. Assuming you are using OS X… Be sure the file is named with a .csv suffix.

Unfortunately, you can't. IDs can't be merged. You'll just have to pick the ID whose itunes account has the most purchased items.

I have had some luck doing the following: Export each clip from imovie as a quicktime clip. Open iDVD and create a new project. Import a few stills into iDVD and then click on the button that gets created to get into the screen where the individual slides appear. Drag each quicktime into that screen and arrange in the order you want. You can then delete the stills. The button that appeared when you dropped in the stills will launch a complete show.

Why would iPhoto consolidate all of my events in to one? How do I get it back to separating my 22,000 photos back to their event foldres?

I had my iPhoto window open. When I went to look at it, in the "Photos" Library, all of my Events and 22,788 photos were consolidated in to two folders. Previous to this, I had hundreds of Events as I was using them to view my photos easily.
Why did this happen? What did I do? Can I get it back to it's previous layout?!

You're not getting this?
If not do the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

I have a PC running windows XP I have just bought a IPad 3 and I am trying to consolidate all my music into one folder on one drive so that the sync does not have a problem finding many tracks every time I connect my IPad please can anyone help.

Hi Derek. Do you know where your active iTunes library is? If not download & run the script iTunesInfo which should output something like this:
I'm interested in the values of the first four lines. If needed you can hide your username with <User> if it's in there. Also worth checking that media folder location given by the script agrees with Edit > Preferences > Advanced. If not, let me know.
Which of your drives has the most free space? Ideally you should move your current library to that drive as X:\iTunes (when X: is the drive letter) and then consolidate all your existing content that wasn't inside the current iTunes Media folder. I can descibe what to do on a generic basis but with the details I can produce a step-by-step guide that will be easier to follow.

Formula help...again. Data compiling into one sheet

I've posted something similar before, but it was just different enough I can't figure this one out .... what I'm looking for it to be able to take info from numerous sheets or tabs, and have them show on a separate sheet, that I can then import into quickbooks.
here is a link to the dumbed down file. The help is with how to right the formula to take all work done on all sheets and put it into ONE table. Quickbooks has an import feature where I can copy a whole sheet and paste directly into OB and not have to enter hundreds of transactions each month.
So if there is data entered within a specified date range, then all those entries appear on the new sheet that will be my QB import sheet. There is a specific table that has to be followed in order for OB to recognize my entries.

A table on a new sheet can "pull" relevant data from tables on other sheets with functions such as SUMIF, LOOKUP and other functions. Perhaps it would work best if those other sheets do some data processing (creating summaries?) first.

Consolidating ALL third party files into the Logic project.

Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?
Kontakt samplers, custom patches of 3rd party synths never save into the Logic Project.
Is there a way to get them to consolidate into the Project Folder?
I constantly find ive lost files, need to re-link them or get lost with locations.
If there was a way to simplify this it would be great.
Any ideas?

- Put the jar file on a location you want (the location must be the same for all developers).
- Select the "Libraries" node of your project.
- Press the right mouse button to bring up the popup menu and choose "Add JAR / Folder..."
- Locate and select the JAR file you need and press OK.
- Now you have included it into your project.

NEED HELP ASAP-populate contents from 5 tables into one master table

Scenario:
Assign a new_customer_id to each existing customer of our three business. A master lookup table (M) was given to me with pre-populated (SEQ_NOs), (NEW_CUSTIDs), and NULL in (OLD_CUSTIDS). My duty is to
(1) Fill the M.OLD_CUSTID column with existing customer ids from T1, T2, T3 (uniquely).
(2) Once the master lookup table is filled, add (SEQ_NO), and (NEW_CUSTID) column to the 3 existing customer tables to hold the new information.
(3) At the end of the project, remove the existing customer ids from the T1, T2, T3.
My problem is that there are no associations between the master table and existing customer tables (no keys). The code would be:
update M
set OLD_CUSTID= (select OLD_CUSTID from T1 where M.??=T1.??)
Since the M.OLD_CUSTID and T1.NEW_CUSTID are NULL at this stage, and there are no keys to tie them together. I don't know how to fill both tables. Can someone help me ASAP? Thanks in Advance.

STATE CHAR(2), etc.
Since M is the lookup table for old-to-new customer ID mapping. There are no need to associat other than just enter the old IDs into the M table.
