HELP - iPod 30G - I need software version 1.0

I have an iPod 30G. My Volvo car has an iPod adaptor, which only works with:
3rd Gen V 2.3 - 4th Gen V 3.0.2 - Photo V 1.0.
The adaptor cannot be undated.
How can I change my iPod from 1.1.1. to 1.0?

Well, even if you got 1.0 for the iPod with video, it is not the same as 1.0 for the iPod with color display/iPod photo.
Does the iPod work the way it is now? Test that out. Sometimes iPods work even if they have newer software.
If not, you could try changing the software to 1.0 using the steps below. Know, however, that the adapter says iPod photo software 1.0, and you would be putting iPod with video software 1.0. See if it works now first. Anyhow, here is how to put 1.0 on your iPod (and know that it is best to keep everything up to date)...
First, please download the older version of the iPod Updater here...

Now install that updater and restart your computer.
Now open the iPod updater (Start-->all programs-->iPod and find the iPod updater you just installed
Open the iPod Updater and connect your iPod. With that older version of the iPod updater you just installed, restore your iPod by clicking restore.
The iPod will restore and go back to software version 1.0. Now reload everything back into iTunes.

Remove the corrupted file from your iTunes/iPod Updates folder (if you're not sure where that is try a search using the 1.0.2 firmware name), then try restoring again.

You probably have a 1G ipod. To get the latest iOS for that mode go to:

It is a paid update. You may have to use a different browser to get the sublink to work correctly.

IPod Nano 2nd generation software version

I need to grab a used iPod Nano 2nd Generation to replace the one I left on the plane : (
It's quite amazing how much value these units hold on eBay. My question is, what is the latest (or possibly the last) software version that Apple has released for this unit? I want to make sure that I ask the eBay seller what version of the software is installed on the one I'm looking at, as I feel that a currently updated unit will have the best chance of functioning properly. I am running Windows 7 on my home computer.
One of the ones I'm looking at has a picture of the information screen on the unit and it says it has software version 1.1.3. That can't be anywhere close to the last/best one, can it?
I assume that 2GB, 4GB and 8GB are the same in terms of software. I am looking for a 4GB version, or possibly an 8GB.
Any help is appreciated.

That is correct. Version 1.1.3 was the last firmware update released for the 2G Nano.

Computer idiot needs help Ipod 30G

I followed the quick start but they sure are unclear I plugged in the ipod to the USB and it says do not disconnect with the battery charging sign is this right am I on the right track? How long will this go on? This is a very expensive toy for kids or adults and the instructions are very vague this is all my son wanted and I can't for the life of me figure it out and frustration is setting in quickly. any help will be great.

Yes, you are on the right track. As stated in the included instruction manual, you will need to charge your iPod for four hours or until the display changes so that it shows a power plug (meaning that it is fully charged).
Also note that while your iPod is charging, you can also add songs and videos to it.

I want to select one video and when the first one finish the ipod should play the seconde one automatically as happen with the music files

Just put each video on a different playlist and when you want to change just pick a different playlist...good luck..fobtaicss

I have an N86 8MP with the Virgin network in the uk, I want to use the free sat nav functions but it says i need software version 21.x or better, so i went to the page where i can check the latest software version for my phone and this says that the latest version is 30.x, yet when i go to the page where i can check the latest version for my phone it shows the latest version is 20.115 which is the version i have installed why is this and how can i get the latest software so i can use the free sat nav with the maps on the phone

Nothing that you have/haven't done has affected this issue. Unfortunately N86 8MP had a pretty short production run by Nokia standards for some reason, probably got left behind by pace of development or production cost so there is unlikely to be much incentive to support it by either Nokia or network providers.

If your iMac has a PowerPC processor, Leopard OS 10.5.x is the max OS. If your iMac has an Intel processor, it can run Snow Leopard OS 10.6.x or possibly higher.
Once we know your iMac model, we can better recommend what OS X version.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

No, I have not tried any backup tools. I havent restored my ipod back to factory settings yet and then sync everything back on it. I am kind of scared too because I dont want to lose anything. I have just been hoping some new apple software update will come out because I know several people have had problems when updating to the newest version available.
