Help! Ipod 4 screen went black, won't turn on/charge!

I pressed the power button to put it to "sleep" for a minute, then when I clicked the home button nothing happened! The screen remained black. I've had my iPod 4 (64 gb) since Dec 2010.  I still have around 49 gb of free space on it and the battery was full. When I plugged it into the wall charger, nothing happened, it made no sound.  I might have been clicking the home button too frequently and fast, maybe that's what caused it??  If I do a reset by pressing the home and power button, will I lose all content on my iPod? Can my iPod be fixed, so that it will turn on again?
I have family pictures and a couple videos of my grandmother's 92nd birthday on it and would be devasted if I lost them. Please can someone help me? Thanx in advance.

  • Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up.

Ipod touch screen went black and then started flashing. Then the turn off slide comes up. Restored multiple times and didn't work. Ipod works with Itunes fine (can put music and podcasts on the ipod), but can't take songs off of the ipod. Using windows xp and everything is up to date. Any ideas of how to fix it?

I didn't know that it was posted three times. My computer didn't say that it posted anything.
My ipod still syncs to itunes and I can put podcasts and music on my ipod, but I can't delete songs after I put them on the ipod. When I try to delete songs I try to delete it from the main music list on the ipod. It's also doing all the other stuff that I posted before. The screen will go black and then the power off slider thing shows up for a few seconds, then it'll show the unlock slider bar. Then goes black again. It will also do that when I have the ipod unocked and changing songs or playing a game. I've restored it to the factory default/new ipod and it still does the same thing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and then restored it again to the factory default and it's still doing the same exact thing. I checked and my computer is up to date.

  • What do i do if my ipod touch screen went white and wont turn off?

what do i do if my ipod touch screen went white and wont turn off?

    - Try a reset.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Connect to computer and restore if it appearsin iTunes.
    - If screen still white let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour repeat the above.

  • Iphone 4s screen went black and wont turn on

Iphone 4s screen  went black and wont turn on... what do I do?

Does the Vibrate/Mute switch make the iPhone vibrate? Does iTunes on computer recognize the iPhone? If not, then possibly the battery is faulty or worse. If yes, then the LCD Display is not working, possibly the connector came loose and simply needs to be pressed down to the logic board. Of the LCD Display is faulty and the front screen assembly needs to be replaced. Or worse. If there is Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send iPhone to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, Replacement iPhone is $199 or battery is $80 with Apple.

  • Help! MacbookPro screen went black

I am lost, my computer was on sleep mode and I went to turn it back on and the screen went black even though I could see a faint view of my screen in the background of the black screen, it was also making a lot more noise than normal so I turned it off and then it wouldn't boot up. It would start too for about 2 seconds, literally, and then the screen would go back dark. I took it to be fixed and had the hardrive replaced but it won't work. Is my computer a lost cause, is my motherboard damaged? Help ... What can I do I need it for school!

Apparently the folks who fixed it didn't. So take it back.

Heres another tip: Is your ipad freezing up or crashing ? try closing all your open programs by double tapping the home button and hold your finger on one of the open apps and they will start to shake and a red minus sign will appear at the top of each app. click the minus sign on each app to close each app. The first time I did this i had 40 apps goung at the same time.
Thinking that all of the apps displayed in that tray are open and running is a common misconception. In fact, what you are looking at is the Multitasking (MT) Tray, sometimes also referred to as the Recents Tray, and is an ordered list of those apps which were last opened. Very very few of those apps will be multitasking capable and not all of those will actually still be open and doing something in the background. Obvious examples of those working would be a music app still playing, while common examples of not opened but displayed would be, well ...... with a few exceptions, pretty much everything else.
That said, it is a corrective action for a hung or crashing app as what you are describing is one of the two ways to Force Quit an application; by going through and deleting all of them you actually will also do this and might fix whatever the issue is. However, the app causing the problem is normally going to be at the very top of the apps displayed in the MT Tray.

  • Iphone 4 screen is black, won't turn on.

    Hi,
My iphone 4 won't turn on, the screen is black.
My phone got a little wet and I put it in a bag of rice and moisture absorbant sachets for a day. No red indicator has appeared.
I was able to copy my recent photos from iphone to computer and did an update of software, but still no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Sharon

Step #1 would be plugging it in to make sure it is fully charged. If 2-3 hours on the wall wart isn't enough and given that it took a dunking, may be necessary to take it in for assessment.

  • Help! My creative zen micro won't turn on/charge/anythi

The last time I turned it on, it showed the CREATIVE logo and stayed like that until the battery died (It may have been around 2 hours or so...) but now it won't turn on, it won't show the blue lights when it's plugged in (and yes, it's plugged in properly) and I can't access it from my computer.
    Please help!!

First thing to try is connecting to another PC. What's happened is the battery is flat, but I assume that it should recharge from flat even via USB.

  • My iphone screen went black and wont turn back on .. HELP

    HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your phone may be out of battery or may have shut down due to overheating.
Try plugging it into its charger. If an empty battery with a charging symbol appears, you're good. Just let it charge for a few minutes.
If you were using your phone excessively and it is extremely hot, wait until it cools down then turn it on again.

  • Ipod touch screen went white and wont turn on

    help!!
the ipod touch went white on its screen and the laptop cannot recognise the ipod it says unknown device! now the ipod wont even switch on
    can any1 help me

I am not sure if I know enough about iPod's to be able to help you completely but I can offer a few suggestions. First of all, you can try restarting your iPod (by holding the OFF button and the HOME button at the same time for a long period of time.) If that doesn't work then you could try connecting your iPod up to your computer and if it shows up on iTunes you can RESET your iPod. Hope that helped a little!

  • So I clicked a email that contained a 2 hour lecture on it, and then my screen went black and wont turn on or even connect to my Itunes. What could be wrong?

It was about 30MB, it was loading and then I turned off the screen. A few minutes later I tried turning it back on and it stayed black. I tried connecting it to my Macbook Pro and it says that its receiving a wrong response. What could be wrong?

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Iphone: Screen gone black, Won't turn off, Restore has failed, 1.1.3

    Hi,
I am having a problem with my iphone after upgrading to 1.1.3. The screen has gone black with a white spinning wheel(resembles a flower sort of).The wheel however is not spinning. I can see the top bar with the time, battery, and signal strength. The phone however will not turn off and restore yields an "Unknown Error (-19). Has anyone else had this problem after updating? Anyone have a fix for it or is this a job for the genius bar?
    Thanks for your replies.

try this apple restore knowledge base

  • How can i fix my iphone 4s ? the screen went black and wont turn back on.

    ugh

    Hi sandy,
Have you tried a reset? Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time for up to 20 seconds. Hopefully the Silver Apple will display, which will mean the phone is resetting (no data will be lost). As soon as the Silver Apple appears, release the buttons, and wait until the Home screen comes back on.
You should be OK after that.
    Good luck!
    Cheers,

  • I put my iPhone into an otter box extender and onto my stereo system, when I plugged it the screen went black, it wont turn on and none of the buttons work.

As soon as i plugged it into my stereo system with the otter box extender attached, ive tried to reset my phone by holding the lock and home button at the same time but nothing happens. After its been plugged in it starts to get warm, but the computer doesnt recognize it and nothing seems to happen.

It could be the battery if it was left in a very hot car or something and now it has practically no capacity.
(Lithium Ion batteries should mever be allowed to get completely flat - they need to retain some energy in order to recharge)
But if you haven't done anything that you think would have damaged the phone, and it is still under warranty, contact Apple and they'll sort it.
