Help... Ipod display a sad Ipod icon..

Help me. My Ipod display a sad Ipod icon whenever I turn it on. I have already try the method here (Active Disk mode) but I can´t activate it. Don´t know what to do. I´ve bring it to an Ipod store, but they also don´t know what to do. How can I send it back to warranty? I´m in Germany.

i tried to turn on my ipod but the sad ipod icon came up when i tryed to restore my ipod my computer doesn;t say that my ipod is plugged in. i tryde to reset it and to put it in disk mode but my ipod won't do anything other than show the apple sign then the sad ipod icon and then a charging battery that doesn;t increase is there anything i can do at home or do i have to send it in?

I have a 3rd generation iPod that keep showing the icon of the folder with the ! on it. I'm trying to restore it but haven't been having any luck. It wasn't mounting for the longest time, but I did the force it into disk mode trick and attached it via usb. That worked kinda. The ipod only shows up in disk utilities and the ipod updater NOT on the desktop. In theory this is fine but the other problem is it only shows up when attached via usb and the ipod updater gives me the message "must be connected via firewire to restore" but for some odd reason this ipod no longer mounts at all (even in forced disk mode) when connected with firewire. i've tried multiple firewire cables but still nothing. it still charges when connected but doesn't mount in disk utilities, ipod updater, itunes, or finder. any ideas???

Ipod keeps showing 'sad ipod' and wont charge or turn on

I have an ipod classic which has 30 gb, and when I try to turn it on it shows the apple logo, than a sad ipod icon that says 'www.apple.com/support/ipod' and than 'please wait very low battery' and then it shows the apple logo again, and it repeats forever. I've reset it, and restored it twice. I'm trying to restore it now but it won't turn on. When I charge it, it repeats the cycle, even though it's fully charged. Is there anyway I can turn it back on?

Sounds like the charging cable might be toast.
You can get one cheap as dirt on eBay. I bought some spare ones.
Go to your Apple dealer and ask to try a cable plugged into something. That'll be the best way to verify unless you have another cable.
Maybe try wiggling the cable when plugged in.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I think this is beyond dumb. what can i do about this
i'm better off buying a 60GB iPod for 399.

I have an ipod classic and when i try to turn it on a picture of the sad ipod icon. How do i fix it?

my ipod is 20GB and the screen colors are black and white. the outside of the ipod is white and the back is silver. fisrt of all when i connect it to the computer it wont show up in itunes or in the finder devices. second, the ipod shows a sad ipod icon whenever i try to turn it on and it also makes this weird noise, i spent more than i should've on this so i want my money's worth. should i try to fix it or sell it? and if i should sell it, where are some good places to sell it to?

Help with sad ipod

Im trying to fix my freinds Ipod Nano. It won't turn on or respond to being plugged into a power sorce, so it wont display battery charge. When i try to restart it (togle hold, then press and hold slect & menue) it will try and restart like normal but when the apple logo goes away it displays the "Sad Ipod" sign(a ipod with X eyes and a frown, beside it is a triangle with a ! in it). When i tryed to force it into disk mode it wont work, i reset and right when i see the apple logo i hold select and pause/play. but it still goes to sad ipod when the apple logo goes of. what should i do?

Be aware that it's quite involved and contains some info that will almost certainly void the warranty. If your iPod is still within the warranty period, you should use that option first.

Sad ipod face on my ipod = sad me /cry

so my ipod has been doing awesome for the last couple of years, but the other day it had a sad ipod face on my ipod and it had x.x on the face. it was cute but now pod is a brick.... what can i do? a reset does nothing (menu + button) it will not recharge, it is cold and lifeless......

ok heres the problem... today I wake up all happy and stuff but when I go to pick up my iPod to listen to music it wont turn on. it just shows the sad iPod icon and a link to support. I already tried the 5 steps and trying to startup in diskmode. it just shows the low battery sign. i have tried everything apple tells me to do so do u people have any suggestions?

This is definetely an issue with your iPod's hard drive. It may need to be replaced. but before that, try these links:

If these things didn't solve the issue, it may very well be that you will need to get your iPod's hard drive replaced.

Sad Ipod Face?

Okay, I've had my iPod for a couple of months now, since about May or so, and it's been working absolutely fine. Until just recently, I chose a song to listen to, when it froze, so I tried restarting it, but when it turned back on, it was a white screen with a iPod with a sad face, and under that it had "apple.com/support/ipod". It hasn't done anything since then, and I'm worried, because I've taken fine care of it...I can't figure out how to fix it...Any help is appreciated...
