  • HELP: iPod stuck on reset screen

just bought a new 30 GB two days ago, and I ended up putting a corrupt file on it.
got the standard alert window telling me to either restore or try ejecting iPod and connecting again. i ejected and removed iPod from USB cable, and it immediately reset. then nothing for maybe 10- 15 seconds. then it reset again. it kept this up for about an hour and a half, until the battery died. it's recharging now, and doing the same thing it was before.
i just want to be able to fix the corrupt file, but i can't get it to come up on the computer. can't get it to do anything.
any ideas, apart from sending to Apple and letting them deal with it?

    Hi bwagner23,
While your iPod is disconnected from your computer (but mostly charged), can you sucessfully force it into disk mode? Sometimes that can get cause an iPod to get a bit more "in control" when it does this kind of constantly restarting behavior.
For instructions on how to put an iPod into disk mode, see this article:
    Putting iPod into disk mode
If you can sucessfully get your iPod into disk mode, try connecting it to your computer for a restore (if it's recognized by iTunes while in disk mode).

  • How can I unlock an IPod with a locked screen that says Will open in 21,889,406 minutes?

How can I unlock an IPod with a locked screen that says Will open in 21,889,406 minutes? It was in our companies lost and found a couple years ago. Was never claimed. If I could unlock it, I could possible find out whose it is/was or at least use it. Not sure what model or what operating system it has. Was lost in 2010 in the fall of that year.

  • After update to ios 7  my 4s gets stuck in lock screen

Every now and then my iphone 4s gets stuck in lock screen, I can't slide to unlock. The only way to solve the problem is to switch off and then on the iphone and then it works again.
    Any clues?

    Hi zzcool,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
To address this issue, I would suggest restarting and/or resetting the iPhone:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that does not resolve the issue, refer to page 146 in the iPhone User Guide to Reset All Settings:

  • My iphone 5 get stuck in locked screen when two or more missed calls or messages shown on locked screen list

My iphone 5 get stuck in locked screen when two or more missed calls or messages shown on locked screen list

    Hi bhagath1339,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
The first troubleshooting steps I would recommend in this situation would be restarting and if the issue continues, resetting the iPhone.
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue continues after restarting and resetting, it may be necessary to restore your iPhone to isolate software versus hardware. Please follow the attached article if you need assistance restoring the device.

  • IPod stuck on lock PLEASE HELP!!

i have owned a ipod for a long time and i know about the reseting and everything else. but now my ipod is stuck on lock. ill move the hold button back and fourth and it wont unlock. ive tryed reseting it and formating it and nothing will work. can anyone help me Please.

You may need to reset it. Put the hold switch to the OFF/White position. Now toggle it ON/orange then back off again. Then press and hold both the MENU and center buttons on the iPod and hold them for a good 10 seconds or so. Your iPod should reboot starting with the Apple Logo screen.
Despite the hold lock symbol staying on the screen, switching the hold switch will still register to the iPod if it isn't the hold switch itself that is broken.
Repeat the reset process a second time, holding the bottons longer, if it doesn't go the first time. Sometimes it can take a few tries.

  • Slide for Emergency - Stuck on Lock Screen

Recently on my new iPhone 6,  I noticed that the battery percentage was not going down with the use of my device.  I held the lock button to power off, and I turned the phone back on.  When I saw the lock screen,  the time was not being displayed and the "Slide to Unlock" prompt was changed to the "Slide for Emergency" prompt.  After sliding to input my passcode before Touch ID could work, my passcode would not allow me to access my phone and instead, my phone vibrated once and sent me back to the slide to unlock screen.  These screens seem to be very glitchy, often times not responding to wake button presses or home button presses.  The screen will also often go black for no reason.  My device is running iOS 8.1.2 without any jailbreaks. I've already tried turning it off and back on, and holding the lock and home buttons at the same time.
    Any help would be appreciated

Try the following testing after each step
    - Reset the device. Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    - Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)
    - Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)
    - Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.
    - Test the issue after each step.  If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.

  • IPad Stuck on lock screen (4th Gen)

    Hi All,
I have a iPad 4th Generation - Late 2012 edition. In the last few weeks it has been getting stuck on the lock screen more and more.
I lock the iPad in the usual way, but when I swipe to unlock it nothing happens - I have attached a photo and a video of the problem can be downloaded from https://www.amazon.co.uk/clouddrive/share/bgDUnkJz_3yAdCV947xoFai7hn-ZjLML0sJ4Es mJGoY
The only way to get it to work is to totally power down the iPad and turn it back on.
I have done a full restore on iTunes, but it's still doing it.
    Can anyone help at all?
    Thanks alot,
    Keith

sorry - I meant to say it's running iOS 8.1.1 and has 2.9gb free space.
    Thanks

  • Ipod stuck on diagnostic screen

my ipod nano 4 gb is stuck on diagostic screen no matter how many times i try to reset by holding the menu and the center key it reboots to the same green diagnostic screen pls help and if remove the usb cable it shuts off completly

Sounds like a hardware issue.  For one the battery seems to be completely shot since the iPod does not have the ability to stay powered on once disconnected for an external power source.
Time to send in your iPod for service either to Apple or a third party repair company.  Or start saving for a new iPod.

  • IPod stuck on lock

So my ipod, despite the lock function (slide at top of ipod) being off still thinks it's locked so i can't actually get to any of my music. Can anyone suggest how to fix this?
    Thanks!

    First, try this:
1 - Connect your iPod to your computer.
2 - Now begin to rapidly toggle the "Hold" switch back and forth while your iPod is connected.
3 - After you've done that for a little while, eject the iPod if needed, then disconnect it from your computer.
If trying that doesn't seem to help anything, then have you tried resetting your iPod? To reset an iPod:
First, toggle your iPod's "Hold" switch back and forth a couple of times.
Then, press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
You might need to try this several times. For more effect, connect your iPod to some sort of power source (like a wall charger, or your computer's USB) while you reset it.

  • Ipod stuck in locked position.

My iPod is stuck in locked, regardless of which position the sliding switch is in.  Does anyone know how to resolve?

If a restore of the iPod in iTunes does take of the issue, your iPod likely needs servicing.  In this case, you'll probably need to have the hold switch swapped out.

  • 3rd Gen iPod Stuck at Apple Screen

    Hello,
My 3rd gen iPod is stuck on the Apple screen. It is the screen that comes on when you first turn it on (or reset it). It is stuck on this screen, and each time I reset it (Menu,Play/Pause) it just goes right back to that screen. The hard drive is spinning non-stop. When I plug it into the computer the iPod does not mount, and it does not show up in my System Profiler under FireWire connections.
Did my iPod finally die, or is there anything I can try?

If you haven't tried already, do a hard reset.
