Help! Ipod trying to restore itself!

I have had my ipod since May 2007 and it had been working fine. It began to hang up during songs in October, so I did a factory restore. Ever since then it has gone wrong. Co-incidently I had also just updated itunes to the newer version.
So far my ipod has done "something" to the songs/podcast on three occaisions. When attempting to transfer songs it stalled, then appeared to do a factory restore as is disconnected, lit up and returned to the language choice screen. It also contained nothing when you looked on it. When i plugged it in however it said it contained "other" information, and was the size of my music files previously.
Since then it has been touch and go, with me not wanting to try and add anything else to it. After it did this on each occaision i would instigate a factory restore myself.
It stopped wiping itself, but at first refused to allow any podcasts to be transfered, then would not allow anything to be transfered. In a last ditch attempt I again restored my ipod. It refuses to transfer any files at all now, and just says it was an "unknown error".
Does this sound like a fault with my ipod, itunes or my computer?
My ipod is still under warranty - should i send it for repair?

I assume you don't have a backup on an external HD. You always should, because then you could easily fix your problem.

The Update was not completed and due to incomplete update your Device is now in Recovery Mode and the only option left with you is to Restore your iPhone using iTunes on your Computer which will take your iPhone to Factory settings.

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

BBM stopped working and keeps trying to restore itself

My BBM has suddenly stopped working. When I click on a BBM from the Hub I get an option to Setup or Cancel. When I click setup it tries to restore but it just hangs. I've waited over an hour multiple times.
I've tried to reboot and done a battery pull but the same thing happens.
When I try to open the BBM App itself it goes straight to restore and then hangs.

Help ipod doesn't restore

my ipod which is a picture ipod flashes between two screens; one which is the apple and the other is an folder with it saying apple.com/support. i went there and found out how to put it in disk mode. i tried then restoring it but a pop up says that it cannot be restored for an unknown reason. please help i don't know how to restore/fix it.

Ipod froze and restored itself now pc wont recognize it

I have a 30GB Ipod Video and a Windows XP operating system-equipped with Itunes 7.1
My Ipod was working fine while I uploaded songs to it, but then i ejected it from itunes and it was frozen so I consulted the Apple site and reset it to their instructions. It ended up deleting all my songs-which ****** me off a bit. Then I plugged it back into the computer to upload all my songs again, and it says it can't read my ipod and to click PREFERENCES-SUMMARY-RESTORE.
After checking MANY sites i figured out what I am supposed to do because i couldnt find the summary tab anywhere, and it turns out I am being told that the summary tab is in the actual ipod's settings. How am i suppose to do that if the computer's not even reading the ipod???
Does anyone know if I can send it to be fixed or replaced or whatever? I can't find any tech support emails and since I live in Trinidad-calling is last on my list. I've had my ipod for about just a year now and i need to fix it!! plzzz help someone!

Help: Ipod Stuck on Restoring iPod Firmware

I left my iPod touch (1G) on overnight to let it update,some error popped up and said I have to restore my iPod, so I did. I left it on to restore and has it is taken 2 hours so far and is stuck on the Restoring iPod Firmware. Is there a solution to this. Also my iPod is already in recovery mode.

Also it was not and never has been jailbroken if that helps.

I am trying to figure out why I cannot restore my Ipod touch 64, when I get through the whole restore it states "error code 1602". If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. If that does not resolve the issue, try the USB issue-resolution steps and articles listed for Error 1604 above. If the issue persists, it may be related to conflicting security software.
If the phone is stuck on the Apple logo, you can try a hard reset (deletes no info). Press and hold the power button and Home button until the phone turns off. Then try to power it up again.
Simply restarting your computer will not cause your iPhone to stop working unless there is a major issue with software conflicts on your computer... i.e.... corrupt iTunes installation.
Try disabling any security software you might have and avoid using and USB hubs or extenders etc.
If the hard reset doesn't work in getting your phone to boot up, then you'll have to do a restore of the device.

Please help, IPOD can not restore

My IPOD is 4 days old, worked fine unti I downloaded the updater, first it kept saying do not disconnect, now when I plug it in it says ok to disconnect, I tunes does not recognise it but my computer does.
I have tried uninstalling IPOD and updater, then reinstalling but nothing happens, all it does is Say OK TO DISCONNECT! is my IPOD broken now or does anyone know how to fix it? I have tried all the help topics recommended (5 r's)all I get is the icon that means incorrect software but I do not know how to get this off????

Corrupted iPod - Trying to restore Fact. Settings

After something happened to my iPod (ie software was acting up after one connection, all my files (music, pics, vids) were deleted and I was told to restore to factory settings. So I download iTunes However, when I try to restore my iPod in normal mode, iTunes freezes and does not recognize the iPod.
When I try to restore from "Disk Mode" the iPod is detected in an unfrozen iTunes, however it states "There was a problem downloading the iPod software... The requested resource was not found."
Why can't I restore my 5th Gen iPod to factory settings so I could start using it again?

You're not alone, I have the same problem right now. After a certain amount of time updating after restoring, iTunes says that "The requested file cannot be found" and stops updating. So, I restore, rinse, and repeat, so to speak.

Help! Trying to restore mail!!!

I deleted my mail server and did not realize that it would also delete my inbox, sent messages, trash, etc.
I want to restore my mail program to exactly how it was at a back up I did this morning at 5am.
I can not figure out how to do this or even where to find the "mail" folder that has all the preferences and old mailboxes.
Please help!!

Thanks! I talks there about restoing the old mailboxes and e-mail. So at least I know I can get the data back.
Is it no longer like the old days where I can just replace all the mail related docs and files from the "Library" folder and the re-start the program? I can't even find where any of those files live on the computer anymore.
So then, how would I go about restoring the settings and preferences? Or do I just have to start from scratch on those?

IPod Touch Help: iTunes error while restoring my iPod

So recently, my iPod had an issue where i could only hear my music out of one ear. I went to an Apple Store in Southern FL (where i was on vacation at the time) and they suggested trading it in.
When i got back to my home, i went to another Apple Store in my area and got a new refurbished iPod. Before I went however, I backed my iPod up. So afterwards, I tried to restore my new iPod to my old iPod's settings and it claimed the iPod was too old. So then I updated the iPod and restored it to factory settings. I got the original message again and clicked my old iPod's back-up. The window told me to put in my password and then continue, etc.
However, the iPod started to restore itself when it became incomplete. A window told me that there was an error and that it could not go through. Since that time, I have been re-trying and I have restarted my computer twice and restarted iTunes. Any ideas as to what I can do? Please help.
