Help! Is ther a way to make the pentool in Illustrator will be like in Photoshop pentool?
I'm a photoshop user but this days i need make some design using illustrator. because of its vector base features.. but the problem is.. i more handy using the pentool in photoshop.. its hard for me to adjust..

when i Add a anchor point, without converting it?
i like to be automatic just like in photoshop pentool.

1. Path with straight segment selected.
2. PenTool: click the segment to add the anchorPoint. If the straight segment has no handles extended, the added anchorPoint will be a corner point. The added anchorPoint is selected.
3. Click the Convert To Smooth button in the Control Panel. The anchorPoint is converted to Smooth and its handles are auto-extended.
OR
3. Press Alt to invoke the convert tool. ClickDrag the just-added AnchorPoint to drag out both its handles to the length desired. If SmartGuides is on, the handles will snap to the segment.
If a segment is straight and has no extended handles, clicking the segment with the Pen tool adds a corner AnchorPoint with no handles extended.
If a segment is straight and has either of its handles extended, clicking the segment with the Pen tool adds a Smooth AnchorPoint with both handles extended.

The best option is to copy your entire iTunes folder from your old computer to your new one using one of the methods described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527. You will also need to copy over any other synced data not in your iTunes library such as photos synced to your phone, calendars and contacts.

Yes. In System Preferences > Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad tab > move the cursor size slider more to the right. The graphics aren't very good the larger the size but a slight increase really helps.

Key date applicable to entire query for time dependent attributes and heirarchies.
You can create a user entry variable and use it for query key date. So can choose at input screen. and also you can populate default value using user exit(eg: current date).

Hi I am a college student and I wanted to put a wireless network in my dorm room. My question is there a way to make the wifi connection be invisible to outsiders but to people who know that it is there they can see it(use it)? basically I want it to remain on so i dont have to unplug the power to it all the time. anything would be very helpful!!

Okay, I see I should have read some of the other discussions before I posted. According to the discussions at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=887980 and http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=821637, the option to "Create a closed network" (disable the broadcast of the SSID, as some utilities call it) is misleading and only makes the network invisible to the casual observer. Ordinarily, I would still consider that worth something -- having a better lock on my door might not make me completely safe, but it might make the next door down the block look like a more inviting target for a thief. However, considering the flaky behavior that my Mac often doesn't automatically find the same closed network that it has found many times before, I'm turning off the "closed network" setting and relying on encryption. Just above first message is an icon titled Sort By Date followed by a downward pointing arrow.

Is there a way to make the colour picker in the toolbar bigger?
I've been using Illustrator for some time now and find this part of the software to be annoying as I frequently mis-click this tiny area and the switching between foreground and background colour is easily mismanaged and you end up changing the colour of the one you didn't intend and then have to make two clicks to remedy that.
Do any other users find this to be a badly designed part of the software?
Also, while I'm here I suggest that when in the colour creation dialogue the 'preview' tick can somehow be switched to on as default.
I can understand that there are situations where it might be better not to see your colour change in the document in real time, but to have to click this (again very small) tick box again and again feels like bad design.
^ both the above are frequent tasks for many users
Interested to hear if there's any work arounds to fix this.

I do use x and shift x and also / to make a no stroke or no fill. But / is a long way across the keyboard. I guess I could reassign that function to a key that's nearer x.
I think the real annoying bit is not only the small size of the two overlapping squares, but the fact that they change size depending on which one is selected. So the button that is not selected is encroached by the one that is selected (and overlaps it). This to me seems counter to interface design - ie, make the switch button smaller. Worse still is the no fill / no stroke button; insanely tiny.
I would gladly redesign this corner of Illustrator for Adobe, and I'm sure quite a few other people would too!

A number of posts have reported the same issue, two workarounds:

check the paper handling options or equivalent in your print dialogue box and set to scale to fit

For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

For example, you have a fullscreen only app in the background and you want/wanted (which is the correct grammar btw, those who're native speakers and why?) and you have Safari for some tutorial, is there a way to access the background app (for example if it's a drawing app you're learning).

Another way to be able to get to the tutorial in Safari would be to double-click the titlebar of the drawing app's window. Doing that should minimize it, dropping it into the Dock, thus making the Safari window visible. You can bring the drawing back up and front by clicking its icon in the Dock.
I can see a lot of confusion happening if it were possible to have the top window inactive and one in the back of it active. One would have to be really alert as to which window was the active one, to avoid something happening in the wrong place. I'm glad it doesn't work that way.
As far as the drawing app not behaving in accordance with Apple's guidlines re full-screen windows, well, that's on the publisher of the program. Apple publishes developer guidelines for a reason.

The quickest way is to print to a new PDF and use shrink to fit. Be sure you set the paper size in the printer properties. Normally this is not recommended, but it is a quick approach. You would loss any bookmarks and other markup with the print.
