Just disable wireless security on the router.
You can refer to this article but just select disable for the security mode instead.

  • Is there a way to disable previously viewed iMessages from appearing as Messages notifications when waking my MacBook Pro from sleep?

Is there a way to disable previously viewed iMessages from appearing as Messages notifications when waking my MacBook Pro from sleep?  Regardless of whether I am using iMessage from  my iPhone or iPad, when I open my MBP, I get attacked by Messages notifications for iMessages I've obviously already seen or responded to.  Is there a way to change this?  Are others having this issue?
Additionally,  previous iMessages sent or received from those  devices sometimes don't populate into the Messages window on the MBP.  I haven't been able to identify when or what causes this; sometimes it just doesn't seem to work (and I verified that the messages sent/received were, in fact, iMessages and not SMS).
Thanks - any help or insight would be appreciated!

First you need to determine what laptop model you have; then we can help you. A Mac Book Pro cannot run OS 9.1.
With your Mac booted up, click on the  at the far left of the menu. Then click on About This Mac. It will show what version of OS  you are running. What is the version?
A MBP will be running something like version 10.x.
If you are running version OS 9.x, you don't have a Mac Book Pro.

  • HP ENVY 17 G0U21AV - Is there a way to disable the Fingerprint Scanner?

I am using an HP ENVY 17 G0U21AV Windows 8.1.
This model came with a fingerprint scanner in the lower left of the computer. While this seems like a nice feature, it's not one that I am planning on using (I use LastPass for my passwords). I keep accidentally running part of my palm over the scanner which will bring up the screen for HP SimplePass. This can come up at the most inopportune moments, and it can get quite annoying trying to always conciously avoid the fingerprint scanner.
Is there any way to disable the fingerprint scanner?
    Thanks.
    This question was solved.

    @DSWJoshua,
Thanks for posting. You can disable the fingerprint reader. To be thorough, I will provide steps to disable the driver itself, and Biometric support, so you don't have to worry about it later.
To disable the Driver, go to Control Panel, then Device Manager. Expand Biometric devices. Right-click on the Validity sensor and Uninstall.
To turn off biometric support, go to Control Panel, then Biometric devices. Uncheck Allow users to log on to Windows using their fingerprints and then save it.

  • Is there any way to disable the use of the "Delete" key to delete an email message?

It's very frustrating when I hit the delete key and iCloud automatically erases the selected email message.  I receive some HTML formatted emails that include a text box that I can utilize to directly reply to something.  If I don't make any mistakes at all, I can utilize this box and post a reply.  But if I mess up and need to delete text, instead of deleting text iCloud deletes the email message.  Is there any way to disable this?
    Thanks for your help.

I don't believe it's possible to disable the delete key, but could be wrong. However, if you delete an email in error, you can restore it by pressing cmd + Z to undo the deletion.

  • Auto correct is making me look like an idiot. I have to go back and psychically spell check my documents now. Is there any way to disable it?

Auto correct on my desktop Mac is making me look like an idiot. After I type it's changing words into other words I never typed and it even pushes words together that I'd typed a space in between in order to create new words that I never typed which make absolutley no sense.
Now after I type a document I have to go back and psychically spell check my entire document the old fashioned way to make sure auto-correct isn't making me look like a clown who can't spell.
Is there any way to disable "auto correct" on the desktop MAC and still keep spell check running?
The amount of messages I've sent out with horribly misspselled words or errrors as a result  is maddening.
    HELP!!!
    Running OSX 10.9.1

I had turned off auto-correct in the keyboard preferences, but in Mail all my spelling and grammer choices were grayed out.  The key for me — as Kingoftypos points out — was "For Mail, open a new message/reply/forward. Then go to the Edit menu and scroll down to the Spelling/Grammar."
It would never have occurred to me to open a new message to be able to change the settings.
    Thanks, King

  • Is there any way to disable USB charging on N8?

It might be a strange question. But many time, my battery still nearly full and I just want to transfer a couple of files. When I plug the cable in, it start charging right away. This may makes battery deteriorate faster. Therefore, is there any way to disable USB charging? Thanks!

charging by usb isn't a problem , modern batteries do not suffer 'memory effect' just do what you want to do and don't worry about it . My N97 is connected to laptop most nights for anything from 10 minutes to an hour , no battery problem in 18 months and left on charge overnight every night . Enjoy your new phone and don't worry about a problem that doesn't exist

  • Is there a way to disable animation?

I have multiple sensory issues, including visual and auditory issues.
Is there any way to disable animation and autoplay, everywhere? Because parts of Mac OS X use animation, Apple's "help" feature uses animation, this web site uses animation, many other web sites use animation and autoplay... It hurts.
I would like to be able to enable things if and when I want to watch things, but given the choice I would rather be able to disable it all everywhere than have it enabled almost everywhere.
I currently use Firefox which has separate tools to blocked animated/pain-gifs, block various types of video, block ads, etc. I can't find similar tools for Safari, and I need some similar tools for Yosemite itself.

I tried the terminal command as well and didn't get it to work. Does anyknow how to do this now? I'm in ML.

  • Help on Help - is there any way to code "\n" on help information

I'd like to be able to format the help information by adding newlines as well as forcing it to appear at a certain column
I'd like to put a "\n" in my help; is there any way to do so?
I also notice that when you have multiple dictionaries in 1 AFC, the help information is pre-determined based off of some criteria, and some dictionaries have their help aligned on 1 column, while another dictionary has their help aligned on another. This looks very unsightly to a user who doesn't 'see' the different dictionaries. How can we intentionally adjust these help margins?
And is there a way to play with the margins for the prompts as well? some of my labels are very long and when they wrap, especially if I've used &nbsp, the first line is indented, but all subsequent lines go back to the same margin and it looks quite bad.

I haven't found a way to make the help text from different dictionaries  line up.  One workaround is to set the field display width the same for  the fields in both dictionaries.  The help is lined up with the longest  field in each dictionary.  As for the new line in the help text, the  help text is HTML, so a break tag "
" will create a new line.   You can put any valid HTML in the help text and it will be rendered.

  • Is there a way to disable push mail from Yahoo? It's draining my battery

I'm on the prepaid plan and every 10-15 minutes my iphone turns on with a "The last transaction cost $0.00" message. I don't mind the message (although it is a bit annoying) but my problem is that this turns the LCD on for about 2 minutes at a time.
I charged my battery to 100% last night, haven't used it at all today and after just turning it on a few minutes ago I had the "Your battery life is at 10%" message followed by a 5% remaining message a few minutes later.
I've heard that it's the yahoo push mail service thats causing the phone to give the message (since it connects to the internet). My Yahoo account is my main one and I'd hate to have to login to yahoo's site each time to check it (the email functionality was a big selling point for me with the iphone). ATT/Apple don't seem to want to disable this message/"Feature", so I'm guessing I would need to step in and do something on my end.
Is there any way to disable yahoo mail from "pushing" messages to my phone? I can hit the Check Mail button if I have to.

    Hi Everyone,
To give an update on the situation: I disabled the Yahoo account and it seems to make a VERY NOTICEABLE difference in battery life - prior to this my battery would drain quite rapidly but since disabling it it's only lost about 15-20% over the past 24 hours (and thats with using the video/music/internet functions for about an hour and a half).. Prior to this it would have been close to drained under the same circumstances.
Also, to confirm, the "Your last transaction cost 0.00" messages only appear when accessing the internet manually now. before they appeared every 10-15 minutes with no interaction from myself at all (while it was sitting idle, while watching videos, while charging, while in my pocket, etc..)
I do have it set to only check Manually but Yahoo would seem to check on it's own even though this setting is checked (I'm guessing it has to do with the Push setting). Aside from draining the battery, it was quite annoying having 30 or so "Your transaction cost $0.00" messages to click through whenever I turned on the phone.
I did have the screen set to shut off after 1 min, but the 'your transaction cost..' messages would first wake the iphone up, the screen would stay bright for about 30 seconds, dim for about 30 seconds, then turn on bright again for 1 minute until it shut off. I'm guessing the screen (being on for about 10-15 minutes per hour due to this) and the fact that yahoo accesses the internet on such a frequent basis are what cut the battery life down.
I really wish I could make Yahoo work more like Gmail and have it manually search for new mail

    Hi,
Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your original Audio Driver ( ie Conexant, IDT etc ) - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.
