Help -- iTunes Keeps Restoring Metadata After I Change It

I've spent a lot of time editing the metadata form my iTunes library. Specifically, I erase the composer data for all albums except classical.
However, the data keeps re-appearing for some iTunes. For example, I'll spend time erasing all composer metadata. I'll sign on in a few days, and for about 5 or six albums, the data has re-appeared. I'll erase the composer tag again or replace it with a "space", but in a few days it's bad. It's odd that this always happens with about 4 or 5 albums. And then some albums it happens randomly. On one hand, all of these albums have been downloaded from iTunes. But I've got many, many downloaded albums that don't have this problem.
I do have a subscription to iTunes Match, but I've turned it off on the computer in question.
This is driving me nuts. Any suggestions?
(ETA: Is it possible that Match is replacing the information on my iPhone and that is over-writing iTunes?)

Yes, others are seeing this. Something in purchased media (I am pretty sure this has only happened with purchased media) is periodically checking back with the iTunes Store and resetting the tags in the iTunes library file but not in the actual media files (metadata are stored in both). I haven't seen a truly systematic diagnosis of the issue (I use an old iTunes and have no iTunes account so I can't test anything myself). There are temporary workarounds but tags will still revert after a time. 2014 discussion about edited tags for Store purchases reverting to originals - https://discussions.apple.com/message/26077896 - edited tags are still present in the media file but revert to the originals in the iTunes library file. yes i am sure. This are the exact words... "The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. The disk you are attempting to use is full. (Removing files and emptying the recycle bin will free up additional space". i tried some options, hard reset, redsnow, tinyumbrella but still it's stuck.

The five R's don't work because I don't have enough time to restore iPod before it shutsdown, and reinstalling iTunes didn't solve it either.

Towards the end it says "If after restoring your iPod, the message described above reappears, the iPod drive letter may need to be reassigned. HELP iTunes Keep Changing Track Information

I'm having a really big issue. I finally took the plunge and decided to properly label and categorize all my music. I spent almost a month, 3-4 hours a day, getting all the album art, correcting all the information, etc on 4,000+ songs. At the end I was SO pleased. However this past week I started to notice something was wrong. The names of of some tracks were changing back to their old names, also in the comments field I hate reading all the crap people write in their so I cleared it all out, now it's coming back too! What's going on! Can anyone help me make it so whatever I change the tracks info to it sticks?

Go into Windows Media Player and turn off all automatic updating of info.
Tools -> Options -> Library -> Automatic media information updates for files.
Note that the tags have already been changed by WMP and when you play them in iTunes, the info will change to match the tags that WMP has already changed.
You will need to update the tags to get the correct info which WMP deleted/changed.

ITunes keeps re-configuring after opening

My problem is my itunes keeps re-configuring each time i open up iTunes, this usually only happens after an update, then you agree to some terms .... etc.
Now it happens everytime! I had this problem b4 but i forgot how i fixed it.
"Please wait while windows configures iTunes" and you wait some time while it does it. I've tried reinstalling it and that doesn't seem to work... neither does removing Pref folders.
PLEASE HELP!

Its cool, here's what you have to do
go to start menu --> run
type regedit, press enter
go to computer/hkeyclassesroot/
find pcast (make sure its pcast and not .pcast, the one you want is nearer the bottom) and right click it
click permissions
during the course of this you may get a message saying you cant change anything, but you can change who can change things. just click ok.
click advanced, then owner tab
change the owner from administrator to whatever name you are using by clicking your username in the box
click ok on both pop-ups to get out of them completely
right click pcast again
click permissions
click OWNER RIGHTS
click the allow boxes beside full control and read
click ok and then exit the program
All set! Now open iTunes normally and it should be fine. Hope this helps.

After installing Leopard, iTunes keeps unexpectedly quitting? I've tried recreating the iTunes library with no help.

i had the same problem. finally i found out what was going wrong. it was the digi core audio extension that messed up my itunes. so if you are using pro-tools you should have a look into this possibility.
if not you might want to try and remove any non-apple audio extension and see what happens. don't trash them as you might be able to pin point the problem to only one extension.

HT5194 I updated to OS 6 on iPad2 n updated iTunes 11. n made iTunes as restore. After the updates when I open notes they are all gone !!! When I open Notes it says New notes and the left margin is blank. When I try to Search in notes nothing found. Pls

I updated my iPad OS to and also updated iTunes to 11.1.2 and selected iTunes as restore while still sync with the HP Laptop. Now when I open Notes every note is gone! I have to get all my notes back someone please help! Thanks 728

Itunes keeps freezing, i have a pc with windows 7 installed and itunes worked fine until today: 2/22/2012 now i cant sync my ipod and put music on it please help me!!!

Fixed i found out how to fix!!!

New ipod 7th generation on connecting it to win 7 pc it needed formatting to fat32 then it said connect to itunes to restore then after connecting the ipod to pc the ipod screen is white with "do not disconnect" but it is taking along time

Keep video metadata after exporting MOV files

Hello !
I use LR5 to manage RAW/JPG/MOV files from events where I have taken pictures from. Most of the MOV files do either come from my Canon Camera or from my iPhone.
I regular export the files in a reduced file back to my iPad or iPhone for "public" viewing. Unfortunately LR5 is loosing all metadata from my videos, especially creating date/time and GPS tags.
Is there any way to include metadata in exported (and compressed) video files ? It works in photo's very well.
If not, do you know any other program which can compress original video files from my iPhone and keep the metadata ?

Lightroom does not read metadata from the video files till the version 5.3.
However, the functionality may came as a feature in the coming version of Lightroom!
If the same is not visible in Lightroom make sure the files are copied to the system and then check the same in Lightroom

ITunes keeps launching even after closing.

After upgrading to Yosemite, iTunes will spontaneously start after closing iTunes 12.01.26

Close is not the same as Quit:
click the red ball on the left top and iTunes window is closed, but iTunes is still running: see the light under the Dock icon;
to quit you must quit from the menu bar, or when it is the foremost window by CMD Q key combination.
