HELP! ITUNES LIBRARY WONT SAVE

Uh... Ya, my itunes library won't save for some reason. I keep getting an error pop-up.

I am having the same trouble? I keep getting a -1450 error and this error is also preventing me from updating my iPod shuffle. Any ideas what could be causing this error or not being able to save the library? Thanks.

Yes. Just copy all your music to a folder on your external. Then delete the music on your computers hard drive.
It is not quite that simple. If you do that you will end up with many broken links and will have to re-create your library from scratch . iTunes does not like it when you move or rename files or folders and doing so between drives is guaranteed to result in exclamation marks indicating you have broken the links to all your media files.
If you are content with moving the whole library to an external drive (usually the best thing for most people), try:

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

Itunes library wont let me sync

I plugged my ipod into my laptop it said i needed to restore my ipod, i clicked okay and when it was done all my music and apps were gone off my ipod and only the music was still in my itunes library. I then tried to sync the music back but it wont let me, it syncs but doesn't move the music back onto my ipod. Please help because I can't live without my music.

Do you have the right setting in iTunes to sync the media you want to sync? Check them.

Itunes library wont open

I have been using itunes on my pc for quite a while now and it has always worked great. Now all of a sudden when i try to open it up it says "The iTunes library.itl is locked, on a locked disc, or you do not have permission to write this file. I never changed anything it just started doing this one day, any help would be appreciated.

The locked library problem is often due to a registry problem, see this Apple article:

You may be able to do a quick work around that does not fix the problem but gets you going quickly.
Open iTunes with the shift key held down. When asked to choose a library, navigate to your iTunes folder and choose iTunes Library.itl.

ITunes library wont load of install of most recent iTunes

i recently updated the latest version of my itunes and the program began to "update itunes library" as it does with every new version of itunes, this time however it froze up when there was about one block left to be updated, i've tried reinstalling the program multiple times and the same thing happens upon each reinstalation. it freezes at about 98% completed. please help, getting really frustrated at this point.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

ITunes Library wont transfer

I recently had spyware on my computer and had to wipe my hard drive clean and start from new. I "thought" i could just put my whole iTunes library on my iPod and then transfer songs from iPod back to my library once i re-downloaded iTunes. This doesnt seem to be the case. The only songs that did transfer where the ones i purchased through the store. Help please...need my music back on my computer.
BTW, i have a 20GB iPod Video. Windows XP Home Edition, the latest iTunes, so forth.

You can't sync or drag your non iTMS music back directly from an iPod to iTunes. The transfer of non iTMS content is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. - From your description it appears that you used to sync to another iTnes/library/computer. You can only sync to one iTunes library. To switch iTunes libraries you need to do the following after you get all the stuff on the new computer since the backup does not include the apps, music and some other things that are synced to the iPod.
--- Connect the iPOd to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
--- Restore the iPod from that backup.

Please help. iTunes Won't Save My Album Artwork

OK, here’s a basic question that will probable be easy to answer. I have iTunes 8 on a MAC 10.4.11 and it won’t save my album artwork. I have a play list of 23 songs and for some reason track 21 and 22 keep rejecting the artwork I drag and drop. I have tried adding the image as both a JPG and PNG in various sizes and resolutions.

All you did is changed the preference so that any NEW stuff you import will look up artwork. For any albums already in your library, select all the songs from the album, right click, and pick Get Album Artwork.

I turned on my PC the other night and found to my horror that my itunes playlists had disappeared. So i then spent a few hours re adding playlists etc, i have millions of songs etc. To cut a long story short after doing this and turning itunes off i found that it did save it!!!! You should check if your Operating System is 64-bit. If not you should try installing 32-bit version of iTunes.
Right-Click on your "Computer" icon.
Select "Properties"
Under "System" preferences you can see "System Type".
