Help, iv filled my zen micro

Hi i have a zen micro, currently still working well, touch wood!
any way iv managed to fill the micro and all my music is in mp3, i want to change it to wma but IM guessing this would be a mammoth task, is there any way i can change all my music to wma and still keep all my music on my zen? Also would all the tags disappear? That's happened once and that really annoyed me LOL what program can i use to change all my music to wma at once? plz help!

You might want to play with WMA a little first, and make sure you're not prejudicing yourself on quality. Note that WMA is a similar file size for the same given bit-rate as MP3, but at very low bit-rates e.g. 64 kbit/s you might get a better quality than MP3, albeit sacrificing a lot of sound quality in general.
Anyway, I believe Notmad Explorer has a function for automatically converting songs when you copy them to the player. Check at their site first though.

  • Help!!! Zen Micro problem

I have been having problems with my zen micro for i while now(with problems with audio etc and it switching itself on and off). Well today, i go to plug in my computer and the computer couldn't detect it, so i unplugged it to which on the screen it came up with "low battery". This didnt concern me until i went to charge my micro and now i cant even charge it. Yesterday i found by pressing a certain point on the back of my micro and could increase the volume and make the sound better or worse. I now get nothing from my zen micro as it just sits there doing nothing. I cant even turn it on.
Has anyone else had problems like this? Can anyone help me?

Ensure that the Zen Micro is turned off.
    Remove the battery.
Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the Zen Micro. Hold the Power button until the rescue mode appears.
The following options will be displayed:
) Clean Up (Performs a disk scan on the players harddisk)
    2) Format All (Formats the players harddisk - Note: all contents will be lost)
    3) Reload OS (Reloads the Operating System on the Jukebox. Note: Reloading your OS, will not effect the contents of the files stored on your Zen Micro) Caution: Do not select this option until a firmware update has been downloaded onto the PC
    4) Reboot (Reboots the device).PS Cat wrote this i just copied it from one of her links to help you.

I've had my Zen Micro for about a month now and I was wondering if it is possible to read fils you put on your Zen like an IPod Mini!?!?!?!?!
    Please Help!!!

Could you be a little more specific? Are you wanting to use your PC to play music files stored on the Zen Micro? Or are you wanting to store data files on the Zen Micro?

  • HELP!! MY Zen Micros broken AG

ok I got impatient waiting for replies on the other post...
My zen micro screen has gone blank, but the music still plays, this is the second time it has broken in the 2 weeks i've had it!! please can some one tell me how to fix this as i dont want to have to change it again and lose all the songs i've put on it......again!

firstly the mods dont like ppl starting multiple threads. as was advised to patrickz42 he should return the player to creative to get it fixed, by RMA (not sure what it stands for). then see if they can fix it. have you tried starting the player in rescue mode to try see if the screen ever works? not get to impatient as there dont seam to be many mods on now, atleast you'd normally have a message by SSR so just hang in there, and dont be suprised if this thread is deleated.

  • Help me fix my Zen Micro please

Back in late 2005 I bought a 5GB Zen Micro, and it recently stopped working. Basically, it just stalls at the "Creative" logo when I turn it on. It starts up in recovery mode, and will still charge with a USB cable plugged in, but I can't get it to work. I've tried clean up, format, reboot and reload though the recovery menu, but the player just ends up stalling indefinitely, for hours on end. Before giving up, I was wondering whether anyone here could suggest a fix. I'd even be willing to open in up at this stage.
Thanks in advance.Message Edited by Protoman on 07-2-200704:44 PM

  • HELP ME WITH MY ZEN MICRO PHOTO

I don't know what happened exactly all that I know is the other night my friend was using my Zen and then this morning I went to turn it on and all that it won't start. It will say Creative and then just stay there. I charged it and it just won't do anything. What do I do!!! Please help me... :womansad:

I'm assuming you tried to get it in the rescue mode and reboot it from there? If not, try that. If that doesn't work you may need to reload the firmware or something along those lines. If you can't even get to the rescue mode then the hard dri've in your microphoto may have choked and it's time to return it or have it repaired if it's under warranty. Try contacting creative though first as they may have some other solution for you.
If you don't know how to get to the rescue mode on your microphoto, see the thread up at the top of the first page of the forum called "How do I access Rescue Mode/Recovery Mode on my player?"

  • Help me with my Zen Micro plea

Hi i posted a request for help about an hour ago,im dissapointed no has helped me out yet! Please could some reply asap, many thanx Adam

Don't post a thread about another of your threads that hasn't got any replies. Especially after only a single hour, calm down and be patient. There are hundreds of people posting at the same time and someone will get to your topic, eventually.

  • Help! My creative zen micro won't turn on/charge/anythi

The last time I turned it on, it showed the CREATIVE logo and stayed like that until the battery died (It may have been around 2 hours or so...) but now it won't turn on, it won't show the blue lights when it's plugged in (and yes, it's plugged in properly) and I can't access it from my computer.
    Please help!!

First thing to try is connecting to another PC. What's happened is the battery is flat, but I assume that it should recharge from flat even via USB.

  • Lost disk, cannot synchronize Zen micro

Can anybody help me with my Zen micro? (probably 2006) ?We have e new computer and I cannot find the software disk.
I've tried a lot of the downloads on the support site, but I still cannot synchronize in the downloaded software or the?Microsoft media player. The message that the device is not connected keeps appearing. One of the downloads made it possible to load the Zen with songs, but I still cannot sync, remove or change the name of the songs.
I've tried new firmware and recovery software but then again the same message, player is not connected keeps coming up!? Can anyone tell me how I can synchronize with media player of synch in any other way?!
    Thank you!

None original sofware actually! The original disk that came with my zen is lost (moving and new computer)? I downloaded creative jukebox driver and tried mediasource 5 aswell. Jukebox driver made it possible to write to the zen.
Mediasource 5 didn't work. so I removed it again. In the mediasource the message that no device was found kept coming up....
When you installed CMS5 did? you also install the Plug-in for it's Without the plug-in it's pretty much just a media player. You would need to install the plug-in version 5.00.22. located on page . Install CMS5 version 5.0.38 first then the plug-in.

  • Zen micro not recognized....out of commiss

    hi everyone.
fi've hours later, i'm here begging for help.
i have the zen micro 5 mb and am running XP SP2.
i wanted to install the new firmware for the micro, seems easy enough....but when i plugged my player into my computer, it was not recognized. i see this has been a common problem, but nothing i've tried has been able to fix it. here's what i've done that have yielded no results:
. tried changing USB cables (3 different ones); made sure my USB 2. ports were working (they were); tried changing the cord among the 6 open USB ports i have
    2. tried updating drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling all software - both from the creative website and my CD, as well as through the device manager. i tried uninstalling with the control panel and with the CD - nothin!
    3. tried recovery mode, did everything i could in that mode...BUT, when I removed the firmware (i know it was a dopey thing to do), i can't reinstall cuz the computer doesn't recogize the player...so now the Micro is stuck in recovery mode (i can move around in the menu but I can't shut it down)
Any ideas? Is my micro dead?
    Thanks!
    roooo

I'm not sure... But what I will do by posting in this is bring this topic to the top so you get some help. But I did find a website today with help here: http://www.nomadness.net/modules.php...ad+Jukebox+Zen it should help your micro even though its a Jukebox FAQ.

  • Help with my Bran-New Creative Zen Micro Photo. [Questi

<EM>If you don't want to see the backing of my whole story skip to the bold print at the bottom!</EM>I also want you to know I read the FAQs and searched through some topics like this, but haven't found any asking my question.First of all, I'm new to the forum, but I've been researching Creative's Zen for a long time now. I kept observing each one closely before I purchased a product. I then saw the Zen Micro Photo come out. This one won my attention. I loved this, I quickly searched for reviews and went for the buy for Christmas. I told my dad about it and he was "iffy" on the price, but it was better then the iPod in my opinion.Christmas day came and I opened it. Right away I checked everything out I knew a lot about the menu already and all, but not really how to control it. I checked to make sure everything worked. All systems were go. After listening to the defaults (which I loved) I went to go install the software. I already had Media Player 0 and Adobe, oh and I didn't want the freakin AOL toolbar! Lol, so I installed everything else. It took forever, but I hooked it up and I installed the drivers, but as soon as I plug in the USB connector I see: "A HIGH-SPEED USB device has been plugged into a LOW SPEED USB port. After that, I switched USB ports, btu I got same message. I hit the X and then tried to charge. I got the Lightening Bolt, but no dimming of lights. I found out that this computer is not letting me install any service packs, I'm confused about that.My question:Is there anyway I can charge this mp3 player and download music onto my Zen Micro Photo without Service Pack ? Or did I just pay $250 for a really cool glowing mp3 player to be used as a paperweight? (I love this Zen and I ran the battery dead hoping that would make the charging easier).Help?
    My Specifications:
My Mp3 Player: Zen Micro Photo (Black)What I tried: Switching USB ports and re-installing Service Pack Software: Not sure how to determine firmware without installing something. I'm on a XP Professional and I'm using the Creative Media Source and Creative Media Toolbox

Thank you DM for responding. I am expecting problems, but it still won't allow me to charge the Zen Micro Photo or even use the Creative Media Source. I can't upload any songs or any contacts on it. I haven't uploaded anything yet, but it's not reading the USB device. When I run Creative Zen Micro Photo Media Explorer I get this message at the top of the screen: "The device is not connected. Please connect your Zen MicroPhoto to the computer. I can't organize anything or add songs... so it just makes all the programs I downloaded useless and my Creative product unusuable.ONe thing it does do though... whenever I plug in my Zen MIcroPhoto to the USB it turns it on and glows, but only shows my battery at the top with one red line and the green lightening bolt filling the battery up.After leaving it like this for two hours the green moves, but the red bar stays the same size.
