HELP! iWeb doesn't want to play

Hello all,
I love iWeb!  My computer was ripped off, so I have purchased a new macbook pro with Lion 10.7, disappointed not to have iWeb on it, I downloaded the '08 version of iLife, but when I load iWeb none of the templates work (you are given the option to choose them, but they are all basically white pages)
Would love to be able to get it working if any of you smart people can help me.
Thanks,
Sara-needs-help

EJT,
Sorry but I'm not 100% sure I understand your question.
When you say
noticed that when putting it on that the theme doesn't start to play immediately upon starting it up as it used to do.
Are you talking about 1) pushing the "play" button inside iDVD to preview the project?
Or 2) are you talking about playing the completed iDVD on your Mac?
Or 3) on a DVD set-top stand-alone player?
If it's #1, then try deleting your iDVD plist file, com.apple.iDVD.plist
If it's #2, check your DVD player (not iDVD) preferences. Look at the "previously viewed" tab.
If it's #3, then it's probably the quality of the burn itself. Try new blank DVDs, or use "Save as Disk Image" and then mount and play the image with the DVD player in your applications folder.

  • Samba doesn't want to play nice with DNS

I'm trying to join my machine to my organization's AD domain, and one of the steps is that I do a "net ads dns register", which comes back with "DNS update support not enabled at compile time!" I rebuilt samba from ABS, adding the --with-dnsupdate, as specified in my organization's documentation and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/156686. However, I'm still getting the same error after installing my package. Any ideas?

  • My iPod has a mind of its own. When it doesn't want to play, it stops.

I am on my 2nd iPod in 5 months. The first was replaced b/c of defective video. No prob. The replacement has been plagued with frequent but random episodes of simply pausing. The iPod will be playing just fine and dandy, at perfect rest on the table or bed or at my desk at work, when all of a sudden it just stops playing, and I have to un-pause it so that it starts playing again. How often does this occur? It is completely unpredictable, completely random, without neither rhyme nor reason. Sometimes it will pause, I'll start it again only to have it pause a couple of seconds later. Sometimes I go through this routine two or three times in a row within a matter of 15 seconds. Sometimes it only pauses once per day. Sometimes it pauses 5, 10, maybe 15 times a day. Conversely, some days it never pauses.
I sent the iPod in after putting up with extreme inconvenience but only after I performed everything known to resolve such issues: restoring, updating, testing out particular songs, changing out headsets frequently and other troubleshooting exercises ad nauseam. I received the iPod back with the indication that "no problems were found," and the replacement unit I sent in was sent back to me. The only thing Apple Support did was to restore it, which I have already done twice. The darn thing still does exactly what it has been doing... pausing at will as often as it pretty well pleases.
I'm getting quite ill with this thing, and it doesn't help that they sent the original one back (again, my replacement iPod was sent back). I quite understand why the support team indicated that it passed diagnostics, but it is only because the device chose not to act up when they had it in their possession. It is perfectly logical that it worked flawlessly while they were testing it, only to start freaking out once it arrived back home. This scenario is liken unto the one in which you take your car to the mechanic b/c it's not working properly. It works when they have it in their shop... works as designed, but when you get it home (or drive it down the road) it starts doing the same thing. It's a gremlin that seems to be quite elusive.
I'm posting this in hopes that others have experienced the same thing, and I can learn from their experience. I'll send this thing again, but if the device still continues to operate, in Apple Support's words, "within Apple's specifications for acceptable performance, usability and/or functionality...", I'll raise this issue to ANYONE who will listen. I purchased the warranty and I would expect that Apple stand behind it, or what good is a warranty if it will not be upheld?

  • Quicktime doesn't want to play

I have the latest version of Quicktime but it doesn't work everytime the window appears with 'click here to activate this control', so I click and it thinks about it for a while but a question mark appears instead of playing the video. I really need to access a video. What could I be doing wrong. Help?
    Thank you in advance
    Lex

    the above does not work
]have tried RE installing both the macromedia flash player and the adobe one also.
I have also gone to quicktime settings and unselected flash media from the miscellaneous file assosciations and also the same in the mime content.
Retried certain web pages and still the same
have then after unselecting again REinstalled the flash players and still the same
I have then been to add and remove programs and removed quicktime and then when I try to open the web pages it just shows an empty box, so again RE installed the flash players and again still just get an empty white box with a little pic in the top right corner.
Am really miffed at this as have never had any problems in the past downloading and viewing any type of content.
Dont know 100% if it is something in the quicktime or some "update" from microsoft BUT seeing as Mac users seem to be suffering the same problem I would guess its a Quicktime problem.
BUT having said that I have done a fresh install on another pc which is also now experiencing the same problem with an older version of quicktime 7.0.3.0 which i was sure used to work, but as said that now is also suffering the same problem :@
Please if there is a problem could someone help me with this as said it is really frustrating.
    Thanks

  • My iPhone doesn't want to play any sounds.

    Problem:
I don't know what happend but today when I was playing a game there was no sound. I tried to raise the volume but nothing happened and I assured myself that I had the soundbutton "on." So I tried to turn it off and restart it, and the sound worked for a little while when I was playing a youtubeclip but in the middle of the clip the sound "disappeared" again! ..so I tried to restart my phone again but this time NOTHING happened.
The only thing that's working is when somebody calls me or texts me or when I have an alarm on. Games, youtubeclips or other small effects (like when you reload twitter or reload facebook-message) doesn't work!
    Questions:
    1. Why's this?
    2. Can I fix it by myself?
2.1 If no: Since I've only had it for a few months, would I get a new phone?
    3. Is this a common problem?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Safari and Clear History, Data and Cookies.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Help, itunes doesn't want to work with airtunes and my airport express!

Strangely specific problem with playing itunes using airtunes. Just connected an Airport express to my time capsule. All the software and firmware is up to date, and I'm streaming from itunes to an airport express connected to a stereo. My itunes is on a laptop. My library is on the time capsule. Almost everytime the song changes, the audio drops out and stays out until I pause and replay the song. It's the weirdest thing. There are no random audio drops, just a failure to keep playing when the song switches (and it doesn't happen every time, just some of the time). This is similar but not the same as the problems other folks are having with airport express and itunes audio drop outs. Does anyone have a solution?

Problem solved. Upgrading to most recent itunes relased yesterday seems to have fixed the problem.

  • After buying Adobe Premiere from the cloud, installation by (Adobe service), my InDesign CS6 quits on startup. Need help, Adobe doesn't want to fix this.

If you buy a cloud application while you have a totally legal Creative Suite Premium 6 it might stop working. Adobe made the installation by taking control of my computer. The girl did not seemed totally well trained... my opinion and right after that my InDesign stopped working!!! Now my If I call to get help they send you here because they don't want to spend money fixing that problem. So, I wonder if it's a good idea  to buy a new application from the cloud if you already are a good customer. It's probably safer to buy other CS6 or CS5 versions if you already have some. Otherwise you might be stuck to buy the entire package through the cloud even if you don't need the last versions. To solved my problem, I erased the applications with all the preferences on the second time around, reinstalled everything and InDesign still quits on startup. I have the same setup at home but this one does work.

Hi Jeff, here is a transcript of a chat I had with Pradeep. This should get you up to date with the situation. Meanwhile, i actually download the entire software from this address to reinstall the InDesign: licensing.adobe.com
Pradeep: As I understand you are having trouble with using Indesign CS6.
    Pradeep: Is that correct?
André Guernon: Yes, it was working fine like the rest of my CS6 premium but after premiere was installed it failed completely.
    Pradeep: Thank you for confirming.
Pradeep: May I know if you are getting any error message when you try to launch the software?
André Guernon: Yes, InDesign quit unexpectedly.
    Pradeep: Okay.
Pradeep: Before you get the error message, may I know if you are able to see the workspace, the menubar and the tool bars of indesign software?
André Guernon: I see nothing of the interface, the process takes about a quarter of a second.
Pradeep: I am sorry for the Inconvenience Andre.
André Guernon: Thats OK, just happy that you are here.
Pradeep: I wish I could help you with the issue but we (chat support) handle issues with  Download and Installation, Adobe CC products.
Pradeep: As the issue is regarding an old version, I request you to visit Adobe forums where our experts will be able to assist you.

  • Apple Help Line Doesn't Want to Know

Phoned the Apple Help and Technical Supportline - All they want is £35 to sort the problem / they let you hang on for ages and are not really interested -
We have to take the money as it could be a number of things and probably is your computer!!!!!! Yeah! Yeah ! so whay was it working spot - on until I downloaded version 7.0.2!!!!
Eventually they spoke with me - took me through checking folders and various 'previous itunes folders' to no avail - they seem completely lost as to what to do and after spending £5 on the technical support I was and they were none the wiser!!!! They did how offer to call me back - just waiting on the call now - reckon lost about 350 - 500 tunes so far - thank goodness I have the 'real cd's
Will let you know what's happening or not in part 2!!
Having the same problems - contact BBC Watchdog via their website www.BBC.co.uk/watchdog - It might make Apple think that they really do have a problem.

Hi MJ - Got the problem fixed by deleting everything! so need to go back and re-load iTunes with all by cd's again - Apple say they are unaware of any problems with 7.0.2 version of iTunes - so I told them to look on their own Apple website discussion forum!
If I get problems - I'll get in touch with you - rather than Apple Technical Support!
    Cheers

  • My Satellite A200 doesn't want to play almost all multimedia files

So, I have a problem with my Satellite A200. 2 weeks ago I bought it and since then i can't play any of my multimedia files.
It plays only music files, and that's all. I have downloaded many codec's packs such as: ACEMCP603PRO, VistaCodecs_v453, K-Lite Codec Pack full etc.
    But nothing works!!!
I'm desperate PLEASE, help me some one

    >It woul'd be easier to me to discuss in Russian
In this forum you can discuss only in English
    Regarding your issue;
To play the .vob files you need an dvd player software like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
Furthermore I would recommend installing the MPEG2 codec.

Hi everyone, I just picked up a newish g4 tower and am having trouble with itunes.
the os is 10.4.11 and I did the itunes update.

does itunes no longer play mp3's?
Or are all the files I download trash? I'm using limewire and have never had this problem with the old itunes. should I switch to a different fileshare service?
I'm afraid to try to transfer my mp3 library from my old g4!
much thanks to anyone with advice! -CM
