HELP,Java Novice,1.5.04 and viewing videos

Hi,
I have got Win 2000/IE6/Java 1.5 installed on several PC's. When trying to view online tutorials which contain video they do not play properly. I receive a blank screen without video showing. When I change the network settings on Java Control Panel from 'Use browser settings' to use direct connection the video plays fine. I have tried 3 PC's, one with XP with this setting and it works fine. However then I changed this setting on 2 other PC's which have WinXP/IE6 but the video shows up but plays really slowly if at all. I've no idea what else I can try to get them to play properly.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Internet access problems and viewing video on internet

I have very limited interet access most of the time. I get a message: "You are not currently in an area that can handle data communication. ..." I have no problem with email and other features of the phone during this time. The signal at the top of my phone says "GSM". When I am able access the internet, it give me a different signal (can't remember what that is, however). Even then, I cannot view most video clips, such as YouTube clips. They will not load all the way. It states, "Error has occurred in attempting to play media." Help!

I have unlimited internet access, so that's not the problem. Right when I got the phone, I replaced the original data card with a 4G card and enabled mass storage. I have (since my first post) had more access capability by enabling the WiFi (da) which finds my wireless connection at home. I've also been able to view a video clip, not successfully all the way through, however. During viewing, the phone appears to crash, i.e. the screen goes white and then it takes 3-5 minutes for it to reboot. This has also happened when the phone has not even been being used. Also, as I was surfing the net, the phone asked if I wanted to enable Javascript which I did. Is there anything else that I need to enable or do to the phone in order to have a more pleasant experience using the internet and viewing video clips?

One of the following steps should help.
1. Install Adobe Flash Player.

    Restart
2. Are Plug-ins Enabled?
    Enable Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Web Content:
    Click in the box for "Enable Plug-ins".
3. Check whether you are currently in YouTube HTML 5 trial.

    At the bottom left of the page uncheck the box for
   "You are currently in the HTML5 trial".

I can't import and view videos from a camera.

I can't import and view videos from a camera. Even if I open the file and copy the .avi files onto the hard drive. I have tried iMovie, Quicktime, and Flip player. Flip player will open it but I only get the audio, Quicktime freezes, and iPhoto tries to automatically import only to then error saying the files are not compatible.

try the following:
1. delete preferences (com.apple.iMovie.plist) and empty the trash
2. repair disc permissions with Disc Utility and reboot your mac
3. use Diskwarrior or MacJanitor for disc clean-up
4. disconnect any other firewire devices
5. take off any non-system desktop pictures
If nothing else helps, you might want to consider resetting your Firewire port(s)

Installed flash player many times and still unable to play certain games and view videos

I have troubleshooted and shutdown and restarted after it says it was completed but still unable to view and play. Please help. I have Windows 7.

Problems with Lion and Viewing Videos?

I have a MacBook Pro and since I downloaded Lion yesterday, I can't seem to view any videos on any news sites and YouTube, etc.
Is anyone else experiencing this?...and, if so, how can I resolve it?

False alarm, Lion community. I finally just resorted to the "tried and true" shutdown and restart....and all seems fine with viewing videos now.

Premiere elements 10 and viewing video - avi

Hi all, I am completely baffled at the moment. I am running 2 systems, both with adobe premiere elements 10 and full content packs. I have also installed k-lite codecs pack on both machine. One is a dell i5 lptop and the other is an i7 tower. I am editing the same set of videos, I have copied a set to my desktop and have another set on my laptop. The issue is this:
On the laptop I open premiere, get media and select the avi file I want to edit, the file appears and you can see the image of the video file. It is then OK to work from and edit.
On the desktop, I open premiere, get medi and select the avi file I want to edit, the file appears but this time there is no image just the audio sign. I try to put it intot he video timeline but it only imports the audio.
I have been stumped all night. Why will it work on one machine and not the desktop?
Please can someone help me with this?

Hello, and thanks for reading this. I'm starting with a small project to start learning Premier.
I've taken about 25 second clips from some songs and mixed them into a 15 minute mix, I would like to incorperate live tour footage of him preforming the song in sync with the songs so that his mouth is moving at the same time and Hand and body movements and such. .
I'm having a hard time doing this because unlike Adobe Audition when you select a part of the timeline and hit space to play, and then hit space again to pause it and can have the cursor jump back to where it was when you hit play the first time, in Premier when you hit pause it stops where you pause it, and i have to move the timeline, which is very hard to do when I'm zoomed in so far because I need to be presise.
Is there a better way to do this, or any tips you can provide to help me?
So far I've added markers to the beginning and end of each song, but it still needs about 3 secs of fine tuning which is proving to be hard when I have to keep zooming out and moving back.

When using the trim tool to make a video shorter or longer, because when setting the in and out points i can't make them exact until it's on the timeline, can you shorten or lenghthen it per frame, like when using the alt key to move the video, instead of dragging with the mouse?

Please help. Exporting 37 minute movie and the video is stuck

I'm creating my annual year in review trivia contest for a party we're having this weekend. I've done lots of importing, editing, questions, sounds, etc. I exported the video using the "expert" settings, to apple TV. About 8 minutes into it, it locks up on a video clip (i.e. a still frame look) but the audio keeps going as it should. But the video just hangs.
I'm not sure if this is related, but I was downloading a bunch of stuff off youtube and it was saving in a .flv format. Early on I was converting these to another format to work with the programs. But then I found that the .flv format would import straight into imovie and I could see the clips and edit them just fine. Now I'm wondering if somehow these flv clips are causing a hiccup in the export process?
I've already edited everything so I'd really like to avoid re-importing these bad clips again. If I have to do that I'll probably throw in the towel as it will be too much work to duplicate.
Is there a way around this problem?

Thanks much for the note. I think maybe you were responding to my other post about chapters rather than this post about the video sticking? Not sure.
Since making this post I experimented with deleting the video file that was the one getting "stuck" on the converted video. Since deleting that video, the movie will publish correctly. So I think I fixed that one. Must have had a corrupt file or something.
Since that other post about chapter markers I've imported the movie to IDVD, used IDVD to generate a DVD folder, then used handbrake to convert it. That seems to be working though I think there should be a quicker way to do this using only imovie HD.
Your idea is one I hadn't thought of....regardless of which problem you are addressing (this post about the video being stuck, or my other post about chapter markers), I'm not sure how this resolves either problem though. Sorry if I'm missing the obvious.

i have an iphone 4s. I can take a video and play it on the 4s just fine, i have always been able to down'load to my pc and view videos with no trouble. But since mid-october 2012, when i download the video to my pc, and try to play it, same as always, I am getting only audio and the video part is black. I can hear everything happening, but no picture. any thoughts?

Try updating to QuickTime 7.7.3. (That has helped a few people who were getting that when trying to play the videos with version 7.7.2.)

I cannot view videos purchased itunes crashes and powers everything down - only happens with itunes - no other videos played or viewed by other sites and methods

I have tried everything I can think of to fix problems I'm having with using/viewing purchased movies and TV episodes and viewing them in itunes.
They start to play for only a few minutes - usually choppy and distorted video and sound sync and then the laptop powers down entirely and goes into a loop of inability to start back up normally or through safe mode, etc.
I have absolutely no other problems watching and viewing videos from other websites orr methods for hours and hours on end. I've uninstalled and reinstalled itunes numerous times and still have the same issues.
I'm wondering if there's a Windows setting or preference that is incorrectly causing this problem or if there's an error within itunes itself.
Any help to correct would be appreciated since I've spent a ton of money purchasing videos I cannot view.

Try this:
Plug in your iPod,
1. Right click My Computer >> Manage and select Device Manager in the left tab.
2. Click Portable Devices >> right click Apple iPod >> Uninstall
3. Unplug and plug your iPod, now wait for windows to re recognize your ipod [ In Device Manager, you will see the new recognized Apple Ipod ]
4. Press F5 to refresh your windows explorer and see if your Apple iPod will show up with a camera icon.

Cannot view video clips imported from casio s770 on leopard os macbook pro.

i've searched the boards for similar problems but can't seem to find the answer. I'm trying to view video clips uploaded from my casio ex s770 digital camera. I was able to do so before upgrading from my ibook g4 to the macbook pro preinstalled with leopard and i life 08. keep in mind i'm using imovie 06 to import and view video clips but all i hear is audio. I tried using quick time to view the video clips and received an error telling me i need to download more components to view the clip, i did so but to no avail.

Problem viewing videos in Safari

I used to use Chrome all the time but have read using Safari could increase my battery’s life before its next charge. When using chrome and viewing videos in YouTube and Facebook I had no problems but since I started using Safari it has been saying I am missing a plugin. I presume this is Flash player. I am reluctant to download Flash because of possible increased CPU usage and battery drain and all apple aps are designed to use HTML5, so I was wondering if there is another way of allowing videos to play within the webpage?

You're correct to avoid Flash when practical.
Flash is being phased out by most sites that use it in favor of HTML5 page code. That is sites that rely heavily on video and not the millions of Flash based ads.
But if the page is coded to use Flash then without the plug-in you can't view it. Doesn't matter how much you don't want Flash to be installed. Many files will not be converted to HTML5 code.
