Help, Java wont work

After everything in my mom's computer was replaced , and we got the latest version of Internet explorer, I had to download the java software. I have followed all the instructions, made sure the settings on the plugin were set, and everything. It does not work, and it does not bring up applets for chats or do anytyhing. Can anyone help?

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced
Scroll down to Java (Sun)
See this? (or something similar)
Use Java 2 v1.4.1_02 for <applet> (require restart)
Uncheck it (it's lying, didn't require restart for me).
Seems to be some sort of problem with the Sun Java in an MS browser. Once unchecked, it will use MS Java instead (I believe). Worked for me.

There aren't any laptops that I know of that can add another graphics card. There are a very few higher end laptops that have removable graphics cards, but for the most part on Toshiba's you can only replace it with the exact same type even if it is removable. I think you are wasting your time and money trying to upgrade the graphics on that model.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

Help, java isnt working!

Every time that I attempt to open a java app in safari or firefox, I am simply given the java cup loading logo and it never goes beyond that. Is this an issue between java 1.4 and java 5.0?

I'm not dumb about computers, I'm logged into an admin account, I've tried waiting 20 minutes for it to load just the title screen, I've updated all of the files, disabled older versions of java, used all of the version combinations with signed and unsigned applets and nothing works.
I'm just going to attempt to fix it myself, I hate to say that this Official Apple Forum doesn't help me at all. All I get are the same questions about my knowledge of technology, and I'm very disappointed that I am constantly treated like I just learned how to open a refrigerator by myself.

Please Help BB wont work?

I have been given a BlackBerry from my boyfriend, he was given it as an upgrade and doesnt want to use it. I then put a PAYG Sim card in it and now cant get the internet to work, except for wifi. Also, BBM doesnt work or certain things like that. Im not sure how to fix it. Does anybody know how?

You will not get any internet or any BlackBerry services like BBM without a BlackBerry data plan on the sim card. Your PAYG sim card doesn't have a BB data plan.

Gentoo Linux RotateEffect.java wont work?

I'm trying to run the TestEffect and RotateEffect code from the JMF solutions but it will
not run under Gentoo Linux with this error:

Gentoo installs with the Cross-Platform pack (not the Linux Performance Pack), and the code runs fine
on Windows. Is there any way I can fix this as my own Effects and Codecs will not run with the same error.
Any help appreciated.

You don't have native libraries in your path environment variable. keep your jmf/lib in your system's path. that should solve your problem.

Macbook pro please help it wont work ???

hi everyone i have a 3day old macbook pro 13inch its been woking fine until i downloaded lion x this morning and now when i switch on the mac all i get is a white screen with a flashing folder with a ? in the middle. can somone please help me to get it working again thanks

If Apple thinks it's a hardware problem, it's not something simple. Take it in for service.
Next time you buy a computer, don't do so until you're ready to open the box and use it as soon as you get it home. If you had had this problem within 14 days of your purchase, you could have exchanged the machine for a new one with Lion preinstalled, no questions asked.

Airport Card help - still wont work in browser

Hi there
I posted a while ago and have now bought and installed an airport card successfully. I want to use my ibook wirelessly using my bt wireless broadband router. The airport card is picking up the BT voyager router signal strongly and apparantly it is really easy from here on but I cant get anything to work from here on. I assumed I'd just open the browser and it would work but it keeps coming up with a message about the server not working.
I am so angry with how long it has taken me to get a mac on the internet, I shant be buying another in the future but for now I am using a friends windows laptop with all the wires connected.
Can ANYONE please please help me!!?? I do not need anymore hardware type objects do I? I'm stumped

What is the MHz rating of your iBook?
What version of the Mac OS are you using? (We need to know this because the method for setting up AirPort is a little different in each.) Guessing that you are in a version of OS X, go to System Preferences > Network and make sure that AirPort is selected as your means of getting on your network.
How are you connecting to the internet? Are you connecting via a DSL modem, a cable modem, or what?
Which model of wireless router do you have?

Click on the topic, "Im unable to access the Voyager Config Manager on my Macintosh..." However, choose the AirPort settings instead of Ethernet.
I'm no expert on this, because my iBooks (all four of them) have just found our network with no problem.

Java wont work on my Macbook Pro

Hi,
Ive recently purchased a Macbook Pro and am totally GREEN! I need to view lectures online and its stating that in order to do this I need to enable javascript or download the latest version of adobe flash. So I downloaded the latest version of adobe flash (twice!) then I checked that javascript was enabled (it was) and now the lectures still will not show and the same messaging is being displayed. Ive looked on communities for an answer but being such an apple newbie sometimes I can only follow the most simple of instructions because I do not know a whole lot about my computer yet!
If anyone knows a way around this I would be very grateful for the help :-)

Java and Javascript have NOTHING to do with each other, except for their overlapping names. Solutions for Java have no overlap with solutions for Javascript.
Your best source for help with this is the publisher of the lessons or your school. Make certain which of these confusing terms you are talking about, or any help will not solve the problem!

Help ipod wont work

Ok, heres the low down...
I got an iPod fifth gen. for christmas, it is my first one since somebody stole my old one, and theres a problem. I was just getting ready to go to school and I took the iPod off the dock without ejecting it from itunes.
When I go to school I noticed that all of the songs have the same album artwork on it. I reset my iPod and it did noting.
I am now home and I tried updating it and when I tried to restore it, the updater said there was an error, so I tried more times. Then I opened itunes again, and it showed under the f: drive folders a text document. I opened it and it sayed it will do a disk check. And it did but it just gave the approximate KB left, used up etc.
And when I checked the videos I had, none were showing up!!
Please help me! what should I do?

Hi I have adobe photoshop elements 8 i just made a slideshow for a friend there daughter passed a few days ago and I burned it onto a disc but i will not play on my dvd players my dvd player says its a wmv file and it does not support that what can i do so i can give the video to the family

If you only have PSE the only kind of video disc you can make is the hateful VCD. If you have Premiere Elements you can send your slideshow there to create the video disc, or else output it as a .wmv file and use whatever burning software came with your disc burner (Roxio, Windows DVD maker, etc.).

Hey, I�m currently programming a text based game for my uni course work. We have to use bluej, I�m not sure if this has any limitations. I am trying to pass a HashMap object between two classes and I cannot find any information on this subject. The HashMap object stores the name of the room and the key associated with the room. The user can then move through each room and pickup keys. I�m not sure if this is the best way to do it, but I can�t find any answers. Thanks,

HELP--Java not working on web sites

Unable to view any Java based graphic on web sites via Safari, Explorer Netscape or Firefox. Bootcamp/Windows Explorer same problem.
Computer will not install Java 131 or 141 release2 or J25E5O release4 updates.
Installation of JavaEmbeddingPlugin 0.9.6.2 2 does not solve problem

I used an invisibleMenuItem to enable some shortkey. it works fine with Java 5.
while with Java 6, the following methods wont work anymore.
