HELP!!!! JavaHelp Search "hangs"

Hey everyone,
I have a JavaHelp 2.0 project that I've built with
j2sdk1.4.2_04 and jdk1.5.0_06 using RH X5. For the last major build
(a few weeks ago) in which the JavaHelp was build using 1.4.2_04,
the search worked fine. Now, the search "hangs" after you type in a
query. Same thing happens when I switch my registry to point to
jdk1.5.0_06 (which is what the author is going to change over to
soon.
Any ideas how to fix this or what could be the problem? This
is my third Java related / RoboHelp problem I've encountered in the
past 3 days with RoboHelp (the other involved a problem with a Java
plug-in's inability to display the TOC correctly in a WebHelp
output in a different project)

Flash Help Index search hangs on "a"

If you use the keyword search on the Index tab of a FlashHelp
site (RoboHelp6), it works fine until you try to return to the "a"
part of the list. Typing "a" hangs up the search and you have to
refresh the page for anything to work again.
Here's the pattern:
1. User searches for a letter that is not "a" on the Index
tab
2. User then type "a" in the Index tab's entry field and
presses Enter. The whole page hangs up and won't do anything until
you refresh the page.
Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any fixes?

Okay...after four hours or so of uninstalling/reinstalling, I
finally figured it out. Vista wanted me to run it as an
administrator. For whatever reason, that must've been what was
causing the weird lock-up. It works fine if I do that. Funny thing
was I wasn't running it as administrator last week. Must be a
stupid Microsoft update.
Oh, well....

JavaHelp search problem

Hi guys.
I am new at JavaHelp 2.0 and i am troubling with JavaHelp search engine.
I use javax.help.SearchView as viewer and com.sun.java.help.search.DefaultSearchEngine as search engine.
I indexed Turkish html files for my system.
My problem is : When I query a word containig capital I (for example "BITS" ) , it doesn't bring me the correct results. Actually it doesn't bring me any thing
Whereas , the other capital letters does not make problem and correct results come out.
In addition, when I query the words containing capital "I" with "jhsearch" appliaction , all the words containig capital "I" is queried correctly.
I dont understand the issue .
Please help me.

But have you tried to create the search-database with the jhindexer-tool?

I am getting this error message as well. I have just downloaded Lightroom recently. I try to click on Lightroom / preferences....and nothing happens. I tried to uninstall and it is greyed out so I can't do that either. Suggestions? Please help?

I bought my new iPod classic three days ago and until yesterday it worked OK. Every time I plug iPod to my computer I get message "CONNECTED" and I hear that sound in Windows that is saying that something is connected, but almost amidiadly I get the message "EJECTING" and it ejects. I don't see anything in iTunes or My Computer and everything lasts for a few seconds. I reinstalled Windows, so I'm using a fresh copy without any bugs, well if you can call Windows bug free lol USB port to which I'm connecting iPod is 2.0...
I can't even see iPod in My Computer - Properties - Hardware - Device Manager.. And when I leave this windows on and then connect iPod I can see that "xx Apple iPod" appears for a few seconds...
I read that people had similar and same problems, but there is for instance no connected device in Device Menager for me to update and even Disk Mode does not work... I also did not read that someone solved this problem...
Scould I call them and ask them to get another one or what ?

No I downloaded the fix, but it won't not even install.. I sow that that fix was replaced with a new one, so I subscribed to get that fix, but nothing so far, but I remember installing that fix yesterday and it did not help as well.. I will try to get it to some other computer and restore it without iTunes somehow, but I don't know if this is posible or if it does not work with my PC does not mean it will work on some other

'Help cannot search for that phrase'

I am getting the message 'Help cannot search for that phrase' while searching for 'xml' in a chm (generated using RH9). The old CHM (generated using RH8) shows the results for the keyword xml. Is this a known issue? Any workaround to resolve this issue?

I just tried in a Rh10 project and got the same result in a CHM but not in WebHelp, there the search worked so I suspect it is something in the Microsoft Help Compiler.
There is a solution if you can upgrade to Rh10. That allows you to generate WebHelp and then convert it to a skinned CHM. I just tried that and there the search worked in the CHM.

what and how to use SVS, EVS, and OVS, Value Help and Search Help in abap webdynpro...Can anyone please give example link or document...As i am able to get on ovs but unable to get rest of other

SVS and EVS are Web Dynpro Java specific types of value help. They do not exist in Web Dynpro ABAP. In Web Dynpro ABAP we have Data Dictionary based Search Help, OVS, and Freely Programmed Value Help. In WDA 7.02 we have the slight variant on DDic Search Help called Suggest Values. It doesn't change the development model, just the runtime user experience.

Portal Help Article search only works english

I know there are similar questions and answers but none helped me so far :(
It's a new SCSM 2012 R2 install and all seems to be working.
BUT when changing display language in SCSM SSP from english to finnish the knowledge article search does not work.
I get this in the Portal server even log:

Hi,
and sorry for late response. I'm trying to user finnish language in the Portal.
In the meantime I've updated the SCSM to UR3 but no help... the same help article problem persists.
Help would be appreciated :)

- SCSM Datawarehouse Server (Windows 2012 R2)
- SCSM Management Server (Windows 2012 R2)
- SQL Server 2012 SP1 (Server 2012)
- And a separate server containing SSP and Sharepoint Foundation 2010
Okay, just tried adding swedish language pack to Sharepoint and Help Article search works also in Swedish but not Finnish. Could this be because SQL Server is missing Finnish support on Full Text Search?

Answer: added stemmer and word breaker info from swedish to sql server registry for Finnish locale ID 1035 and updated languages in sql management studio.

Help views ( search helps) in tables

Japanese search hangs

In Japanese, the Search hangs.
Instead of finding results, it just says "searching" (in
Japanese) indefinitely.
This problem has occured randomly over the past year and just
recently re-appeared.
Strangely, the current manifestation only occurs when the
WebHelp is installed in the product. If you put it on another
location, seems to work OK.
We're using X5 that it downgraded to X3 for Asian languages.
Anyone experienced this?

Yes, we just discovered a bug with the RoboHelp search on a
Japanese Katakana character string. It appears that RH goes into an
infinite loop rather than returning the expected 'No Topics Found'
message.
Do you know if there is a hot fix for this?

Need an alternate Javahelp search engine

Hi Friends,
I have been facing this problem with Javahelp for a few months now. I have created a Javahelp system for my application and it works absolutely fine. However, I am not happy with the way the search works. As the Javahelp search engine uses relaxation ranking and morphing, it returns strings other then what is needed.
For example: if i give a search for "Workflow Modelling" it returns "modelling" or "workflow" or "a weird string that has workflow and modelling separated by even 20 words". I want my search engine to provide exactly the word i have searched for.
Please provide me a new search engine and the way i can change the default Javahelp search engine. It is a very urgent requirement. Would be extremely glad if any one of you could provide me a very quick solution.

I want to steam another recording (at the same time), and was told I need to access another browser in order to perform this function.

i searched for the search help fild search term 1/2 in xk01(vendor master data ) in sdn i get note .
i followed note done the three steps sucessfully . now i tested xk01 transcation when i press f4 button on sort1 field its give a message no in put data available .

Help On Currency and Quantity Fields:
Whenever you have to maintain fields for currencies and quantites u need to refer them to currency key and quantity key which also have to be present in the table.
If suppose you are creating a table for Employee. And suppose that fields would be like :
EMPID -
employee id
EMPNAME
employee name
DEPARTMENT --- department
SALARY -- salary ( Data Type u2013 CURR )
WEIGHT -
weight of the employee ( Data Type -- QUAN )
Now the fields SALARY AND WEIGHT fields should refer to currency and quantity keys. So you need to have two more fields like
CURRKEY --- Data Type ( Cuky )
Quantity --- Data Type ( Unit )
Now we have to attach the field Currkey to the field Salary
And the field Quantity to the field Weight
So when u create a table you can see a tab Currency / Quantity fields.
Here You can give the reference table and the reference field against the salary and weight fields.

RoboHelp 10 fails to build JavaHelp Search

When I generate JavaHelp with RoboHelp 10 I have the error below in the console:

In the working directoty used for JavaHelp, the "myProject_JavaHelpSearch" sub-directory contains:
DOCS
OFFSETS
TMAP
The error is not fatal and RoboHelp do generate the JavaHelp file. The JavaHelps displays TOC, Index, and the project pages as expected, but when I try using the "Search" tab in the generated JavaHelp, it does not work.
If I generate a Microsoft HTML Help or WebHelp, the "Search" tab works fine.
My project is a former RoboHelp 9.1 project converted to RoboHelp 10. It was working fine on Windows XP Pro Us (32 bits) + RH 9.1, I'm running now RH 10 on Windows 8 Pro French 64 bits.

There is nothing there about Rh10 and it is not a topic I will be updating. Sorry but JavaHelp is not a popular output. Flare does not even offer it for reasons stated in the page on my site.
