Help - Just received my Micro and don't want to break
I just received my Zen Micro (5GB) and want to know the best way to start using it - without breaking the battery.
I have put in the ZM battery, connected the ZM to the charger, then plugged the charger into the wall and now have turned on the power.
I want to avoid touching it while it charges (even though the manual says you can) - but how do I know if it's charging?
Right now the screen is blank, but every few seconds the ZM lights up, then the light fades out. Do I leave it like this for the next 3 hours?

SSR, Thanks for the suggestion. I followed the steps above... got into rescue mode, selected cleanup, unit said "scanning" and then it shut off. I turned the unit on as normal, got the Creative screen, and water pond screen, "library rebuilding"... system turns itself off. Is this right? The battery if fully charged (as per the battery icon)!
Just to recap, all I have done with the ZM so far is:
) Charge it for 3 hours
2) Play the 3 demo mp3's
3) Tune the radio
4) Enter the owner details
Total use may of been 20 minutes!!
Not very happy!
EDIT: Observation - the screen is blank, but it appears when I push the touchpad it lights up (but the screen remains blank)? So it seems the system is on, but the screen doesn't is blank (or broken)?Message Edited by new2waix on 04-5-2005 02:50 AM

I just replaced the hard drive on my macbook. The OS on my old hard drive is OSB Tiger and would like to install OS Lion on my new drive without having to restore the old OS and then upgrade to Snow Leopard in order to upgrade to Lion. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
Without Snow Leopard you cannot purchase or download Lion, so you haven't much choice unless you wait until Apple releases their USB flash drive with Lion later this month - $69.00.

I received an email this am telling me I was charged for a purchase I made of .99 this am. I did not purchase anything. We are itunes users just like you. We cannot cancel anything.
Look at your purchase history and see what the charge is for. Contact itunes support if need be. -
IIve just received my ipod and ....

I've just received my ipod and ..it's doesn't work.
I have conected my ipod to my pc and then on the screen appears " dot not disconnect". And I can do nothing on my ipod,there is non response.

How can i get a pdf from my iPhone to my new macbook? I keep trying to sync but it says it will delete all the books/pdfs on my phone. I don't have this pdf on my computer and don't want to lose it. I am using the same iTunes account. Any suggestions?

Based on your post it sounds like you would like to sync your iBooks content with your computer. I have located an article that may help you in this situation. While you can sync this data with your computer you can also use the sharing button to send PDFs using various sources:

Since upgrading to Yosemite I cannot get directly to Netflix. I get a to Netflix and there is a big message about having to download/install Microsoft Silverlight. I can't get that to work and don't want it anyway. I just want to open Netflix and play the movies. What should I do?

Okay I use iPhoto 6 on an older mac and don't want to upgrade past 10.4.11. Can I upgrade iPhoto without the newer operating system? For the life of me I can't get iPhoto to recognize my camera reliably - although it does sometimes. Any advice, help?
The latest version of iPhoto which can operation with OS X 10.4.11 is iPhoto 7 which is part of iLife 08. You might be able to find a copy of iLIfe 08 on Amazon.com or Ebay.com.
iLife 08's full system requirements are:

My daughter received an I phone for Christmas and we set it up using my iTunes account. She just received an iPad and wants to set up her own iTunes account. How do we do that without losing all of her content that she added to my iTunes account. I have home sharing on my account.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If she creates her own iTunes account she can't use any protected content purchased under another account. She can play unprotected content synced from an iTunes library on a computer, but she can only download content from the cloud that is purchased under her account.
It's a pain I know, but the longer you put off the move, the worse the situation will become. -
I want to cancel my CC account and don't want to chat or talk to anyone about it. I just want it done. NOW and for ever. I am fed up clicking and paging through loops, and I'm not even sure this Adobe method is legal in Canada. I was able to subscribe easily online, why should it be any more difficult to cancel it. To Microsoft it's their Most Valuable Professionals and to sports enthusiasts it's Most Valuable Player, but it means nothing to me. English isn't even my native tongue! So, I did not mean to hurt anyone's feeling but I wanted to be back to the point: how do I cancel my membership without phoning or chatting with a CSR (Customer Service Representative)? I am in month 12 of a yearly subscription I should have cancelled in the first 30 days.
I signed in, went to «manage plan», was presented with «Cancel Plan» as the only option and clicked it. I expected a pop-up box with perhaps the surcharge warning and an (optional) reason-for-leaving survey, but instead was instructed to phone or chat and blah blah blah, hence my participation in this forum because there is no way to escalate any demand within Adobe's system. Believe me, they should already know why I'm leaving. I have been vocal enough.
I want to take my money elsewhere, as a vote for perpetual software licenses, a vote against their rent-a-software policy. I have answered the many surveys they sent me this year and to sum up my thoughts on the matter, none of their changes have improved my experience. CC f***ed up my system and my CS6 setup the moment I installed it. I have honoured my engagement and stuck with them for the year, giving them a chance to win me over. Adobe failed miserably and I don't want to talk to them about this anymore. Every time they bully me into doing things their way, I get more aggravated and it reminds me of the arrogance of Quark that pushed me to InDesign, into the Adobe-only fold, many years ago. I have used their products since the original Photoshop and Illustrator 88 and, back then, I could get answers even from Chuck Geschke himself. Now, management is invisible, intangible, out of reach, and out of touch. I don't think I owe them anything.

I understand your position, just as I assume John meant well when he sent his link. Following the link just sent me spinning in another endless loop with no joy at the end, but it's not John's fault. <Personal Information Edited by Host>Leaving you without a computer for 45 days isn't acceptable. Call Apple and ask for a loaner or replacement. Some people have been receiving them.
If you still have no luck, then consider getting a USB 3.0 HDD and installing and running OS X on it until the replacement part is in.
