Help!!! K8 Neo-FSR has blown! Whats gone wrong?

I turned on my PC on Friday. I started to power up. i left the room, came back and the system was dead. I replace the power cable, as I ahd a spare. The PSU flashed and a cloud of smoke came out of the fan (it was a 550W Q-tec dual fan). I returned the PSU to the shop, and got a 500W Q-tec PSU. I fiited the PSU, plug it in, and there was a big blue flash and nothing else - the fuse had blown in the power supply. Today I rooted out an old Syatium technoligies 250W PSU (from an old dell system I think). The sytem started the power up for about a second, Next thing smoked started to come out of the board, and one of the board components started glowing until white hot. The componets is an amp(I think) Q28 - an 8 legged semiconductor on the edge of the board next to the ornge PCI slot. This system ahs been running fine since May. I fitted the 550W PSU in October with no problems. I have an Athlon 64 3000+, 1.5GB DDR 400 RAM and a 160GB Samsung SP1614C SATA Hard drive. After the first PSU blew I disconnected everything from the board except for the CPU and the RAM. The Graphics Card was an ATI radeon 7000(64 MB). What is going on? The PSU was the last siginifigant change I made (previously I had been using A 300W one that came with the case), and that was weeks ago. I'm not overclocking. I mostly use the PC for P2P and DVD authoring. What can have caused my board to blow like this all of a sudden?
As I have no other socket 754 board I can't test the CPU. Could this be blown too?

Yeah - sorry about that- I have all that info handy on my PC that blew. My standby machine has no SATA, so I just typed what I could remember.

I would either say that the iOS is correpted due to a software glitch or y have have a hardware problem like bad memory locations that are corrupting the iOS.
- Restore from backup via iTunes. This will install a fresh copy of the iOS. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.   This will elimate corruptin in the backup causing the problem.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

After the recent iPhoto upgrade, I've completely lost access to the application and my photos and it says that its not supported on this version of Mac. Any idea whats gone wrong?

Reinstall it:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Ok further to last weeks posting, I managed to drag and drop all the artist folders into the Itunes music folder.
As mentioned several files of the hundreds, were in WMA format which Itunes when importing changed over to its required format.
HOwever looking closely at the library in Itunes which has been created I find multiple instances of the same recording, even though only one exists on my original hard disk

Are you exporting Masters or Versions? 200 images in less than 2 minutes sounds like you were exporting Masters (just copying the original files out). Unless you're working with tiny screen-res images there's no way you'd export 200 Versions (converting rather than copying) that fast...

I'm suddenly getting the kernel panic message and constant restarts when connected to the time machine wireless network. if is switch to the BT network, all fine. no help found so far as to what's wrong or how to correct, anyone have any thoughts...

Recently upgraded to mountain lion in order to buy the new tall tower for time machine backups. had to get technical support to help with set up as it wouldn't play ball with two computers. all working fine up until last week when the iMac started getting backup error messages. then system restarts independently when using time machine on the time machine wireless network. only stops restarting when I switch the wireless network back to he bt one, which is a pain obviously as can't back up to time machine then. it has to be a problem with airport utility or something wireless but all says all up to date with software etc. all still works fine backing up from laptop on the wireless network, just the iMac is not happy. any help or thoughts very much appreciated.

Shutting down might be an answer, although it would clear out my tmp directory - which I might not want to have to sort through looking for things I want to save every time I go to work, and also, now that nvram doesn't seem to work for disabling the boot chime, it can get a bit embarassing booting up in a busy meeting if I have forgotten to mute before I shut down. There are all sorts of other issues, such as editing documents, loading web pages and so on that I would have to set up again.
Your suggestion of letting Apple know is a good one - thank you for the link.

Whats gone wrong!!! :(

Just got my new nano 2day. Was putting a few songs on earlier and enjoying the sound. Finally finished uploading all the cds I wanted and unplugged the usb and went to listen to my complete list and everythings vanished! Now whenever I plug the usb back in, its like i've got another nano and I get asked to register and all the songs are automatically updated. itunes thinks my nano has about 600 songs on it from repetitive uploading, when in reality there's nothing listed! Whats happened? Really hope someone can help!

Ahh...well first mistake you made was disconnect the USB.
Do NOT disconnect the IPOD directly from the cable or dock. Open up iTunes and disconnect it from there. If you do not wait for it to disconnect and just unplug it, it will corrupt the files. Hence the issues you have.
There should not be too much of a problem though, because I did the same thing with mine. Reset the nano and uninstall iTunes. Reboot.
Re-install iTunes and re-register your nano.
Should work normally.

I was bought apple tv a long time ago but only recently was able to buy a tv that I could use with it. I set the apple tv up exactly as it says in the book. But it doesnt work. I get as far as the page that says movies, internet and settings but it then goes blank and resets with the same page and it again disappears. Im very tempted to throw the apple tv out of the window ! I cant update the apple tv as you need the page that disappears to do this so what can I do or its going in the bin!

Firefox wont update to v5 and the main site says i`m using v3 but my browser says in using v4...whats gone wrong?

I have version 4.0.1 ( Help -> About Firefox) and i keeps saying i need to install version 5. I get the download and it says its installing,but nothing happens. I then get a new window saying i need to install the update and when i click the Next button i get a "Conecting to server" message...which just sits there for doing nothing.

Are you running Norton Internet Security or anything similar? There have been reports that Norton and similar firewall products treat an upgrade as a new application and so you have to go in and reallow connections for iTunes. Check the settings and if necessary remove and re-enable the exception for iTunes (consult your privacy filter's documentation for the appropriate procedure). You may also need to check the built-in Windows firewall as well.

Video has lines - what is wrong? How to fix?

videos have wide blue lines and sometimes flash. This same line can be seen in fragments on my gmail account. images in other places, such as advertisements on websites have a wild flashing. Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix it?

Could be your web browser or one of the plugins. Especially if you videos are resent downloads. or problems with ether you internet, modem, router or airport card. If it happens in other app's, then it is ether a screen problem or graphics card. To find out if it's the screen, you need to hook up an external monitor and see if it still happens.

Macbook Pro 13-inch (10.6.8) random white/black screens and becomes unresponsive...what is wrong/what to do to solve?

PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS I'M IN NEED OF URGENT HELP. || Heeey everyone! I'm new here. Please don't bite me. =))
Okay. So I have a Macbook Pro, 13 inch (bought Dec. 2010). It's currently running on Snow Leopard (10.6.8). It had a hard drive crash in Feb. 2012...I had it replaced and lost all my files . It had two major falls (January 2011 & November 2012). Oh, and it also makes this weird grinding noise when you listen closely.
Everything was going fine, until last week, I encountered a kernel panic. Restarted, but was faced with that awkward blank white screen thing at start up. I was told at the Apple Store back when my hard drive crashed in Feb. 2012 that repeated pressing down of the power button can be damaging, so I waited for it to run out of battery to restart. After that, it was normal again. I downloaded OnyX and verified/repaired permissions...nothing was out of the ordinary.
THEN. The next day, in the middle of use, my mac suddenly black-screened. Not a lot of windows were open, and I wasn't doing anything that...will put a strain on anything. It wasn't total pitch-black like the screen looks like when it's turned off. I could still hear the hard drive working and making that grinding sound. I pressed the caps-lock key, and it didn't light up. =))) What, is it off or something? But I can still hear the hard drive there. And it's totally unresponsive. So I decided to restart by pressing down the power button. It was normal again...until a few hours later when it suddenly white-screened. OKAY it's white now. I don't know what that's supposed to mean. But it had the same symptoms as the black-screen. Unresponsive, caps-lock didn't light up, normal grinding sound as if the computer was still on. So I let it run out of battery so I could restart. Upon restarting, I opened Disk Utility and verified disk permissions. There was no damage, nothing again.
I recently got uTorrent (around late December), and thought that it might have been that, so I deleted it and emptied trash. The next day, it did the black screen again. Same with the next day. There's at least one per day. It didn't seem to affect performance at all, everything still ran smoothly. I made sure to check disk permissions to see if everything was okay. And everything was.
Then, about three days passed without any black/white screen and I thought that nuisance was over. BUT NO. Two days ago, I got black-white-white screened and I was...shocked. I let it run out of battery again. =))) Checked Disk Utility, again, nothing. So I decided to get that Software Update thingo that always pops up. I upgraded to 10.6.8. A day passed without the dreaded black/white screens. But yesterday, it white screened once. And today, it white screened again.
I really can't figure out a concrete pattern. It seems random. But what I do know is that:
1. It happens in the afternoon. All the time, consistently in the afternoon. LOOOL IDK what this is supposed to mean, but its one of the common factors. =))
2. Most of the time, it happens when I leave the computer for about 30 seconds - 1 minute to get something. Or if I'm watching a long video (like a TV show episode), a period of time where I don't touch the mouse/press any keys. Is that related somehow?
3. I can't do anything to get it out of the white/black screen except restart. Each time I restart, I check Disk Utility and nothing is wrong.
And yes, I've went to the Apple Store to get this checked. All they said is: "Upgrade to Lion, maybe the error will disappear. If it does, then it was just a software error. If it doesn't...then sorry." LOOOOOOL NOT FALLING FOR THAT, not spending money when I'm not sure it'll fix the error. I want concrete answers.
I'm a student, and my Christmas Break will be over in less than a week. SO I NEED ALL THE HELP IN THE WORLD PLEASE. What is wrong with my laptop? Can I fix this? Will opening it in safe mode help in any way? PLEASE I'M DESPERATE.

Try these:
See what's loading in your login items. - delete the ones you don't need.
Open up Activity Monitor and under all processes, see what's using most of your cpu's resources. Highlight the ones using the most % CPU and hit quit process.
Next, open up disk utility and verify your disk. Once that's done, verify disk permissions - repair if needed.
Restart your Macbook and see if it speeds things up for you.
