Help: Launching Studio8 in Win Vista

I just got a new laptop after the old one crashed. I
installed Studio 8, as instructed. It stated that it was "unknown"
to be support by Vista. When I tried to launch the software from
the Start=>Programs menu or from the desktop icons, nothing
happens. I am frustrated because my old machine was too slow to use
these tools effectively and the new machine does not support it. I
never even got to build one site using these tools and now I am
told that they are out dated and no longer supported.
Can any one provide help and support?

Confirmed here on Vista Ultimate. Don't know if it relates,
but I had
to turn off Aero for FW to work decently.

It has the error range of 3000's which states
Errors 3000-3999 (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an old version of iTunes is installed, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see error 1004 above), or because of your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again. Error 3194 most likely indicates you do not have the latest version of iTunes installed Update to the latest version of iTunes.

Now that I'm looking at it, I don't have it... but I still have the problem:(. I rebooted the PRAM, I cleaned my permissions, run utilities checks, nothing helps, I'm at the end of my wits. I called apple - all I got was bad attitude... I don't know what to do, this disfunction makes it impossible for me to work....

Reader 10.1.1 / AcroQTP / Win Vista / QTP10 - objects not recognised

I get the same behavior problem with my config: Reader 10.1.1 / AcroQTP / Win Vista / QTP10
According the comments found on others posts here, that is supposed to run.
Vista settings are done to avoid any problems (security on users desabled, everything is made on admin account,...).
PDF Reader has been reinstalled, and other versions has been tried too ( 9 and 10.1.4).
Only the latest version of AcroQTP has been used (business restriction for only PDF v10 or higher).
As other users, I can see the add-in ein my list, the "pdf items" in the tool>object identification but:
- no way QTP recognises the pdf content items, but only one global object.
- the test script that is provided with AcroQTP stops because the first item is not found (smart identifiction on and off, same behavior) --> which excludes pdf problems (as it is supposed to be interactive and not locked).
Any idea what I may have missed?

I unistalled and reinstalled everything. I still get the issue:
Config:
QTP 10.0 with Patch HP QTP_00626, on Vista and Browser IE7
All plugins (AcroPDF, Flex, etc) appear in the QTP active Plugins window.
Tested versions:
Reader 10.1.1 (not in compatible list but Adobe recommends it anyway, see "http://forums.adobe.com/message/3956025?tstart=0#3956025") -> No go
10.1.2 (ideal with the latest AcroPDF plugin) -> no go
10.1.4 (known issues, see the same link above) -> No go
remark: I only focus on the second version of the plugin (see "http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/aptt.html"), as the old one is compatible with 9.x versions, which are out of my scope. There is a rumour about an hypothetical third version, but nothing concrete here.
Problem:
I always get "Failed to find object: Failed to find Acrobat" when I run the AcroPDF test which is in the tool package. No acrobat installed.
The user manual says "An unsupported version of Acrobat is being used or both Acrobat and Reader are installed." But my configuration definitely fits with these criterias.
A record in QTP only sees AVPageView item.
-> According the AcroPDF documentation, it is supposed to only happen with QTP 9, but it appears with QTP 10 as well...
Does anyone have a clue how I could fix my issue?

Re-Install CS2 on Win VISTA but setup.exe now does not respond

I successfully installed and ran my legal, registered CS2 Production Premium on two different Win VISTA 64 machines, first on my original desktop, then my current laptop, which is what I now use.
Each time, CS2 installed OK. I had learned the "trick" was to stop the installation after the last program, before the suite proceeded to do the final steps. If I failed to stop prior to those final steps, the error message about registration occurred. If I stopped prior to the conclusion of the installation, then each program worked fine.
HOWEVER... I recently downloaded and installed CS5 demo, then removed CS5. I had uninstalled CS2 in preparation (because of disk space and potential conflicts). I cleaned the registry, as I also did after uninstalling CS5.
When I went to re-install CS2 (using the original legal disks), now the setup.exe program DOES NOTHING. It whirs when clicked, as if it's launching, then sits idle, not performing any tasks. I've let it "try" for hours, but no results.
I have: clicked on the file from Windows Explorer, I have opened a command line window and run e:\>Setup.exe, I have even copied the disk to the desktop and tried to run Setup.exe from there. There is never an error message. There is only no activity whatsoever from setup.exe.
During the time of the last successful CS2 installation and the current attempt to install, there have been several Vista updates installed on the machine.
So, I have successfully run CS2 on Vista 64, but not since removing the CS5 demo. My system is a multi-core AMD 64-bit processor running Windows Vista Home Premium Build 6002 with all Microsoft updates applied. (And yes, having not had any paying job in almost three years, I cannot figure out a way to fund the upgrade...and, of course, Adobe has cut off support of any kind for CS2.)
Does anyone have experience and a solution?

CS2 is completely unsupported under Vista and Win 7. 64 bit makes it even more difficult.
Unfortunately, you're on your own here. Best bet would be to upgrade to CS5 and you should take note of the fact that if you don't and you wait til CS6 ships you will be out of the upgrade loop altogether and will have to pay full price.

It has 500GB of RAM, intel Pentium core 13 processor, Windows7/serv pack 1 plus fat a$$ graphics & sound but everytime I try to download iTunes, it tells me my computer hasn't been "modified"? It may be a corrupt / damaged download.
If you live in a Region that allows re-downloading Music...
Delete the Song(s) and re-download...

Music plays with snarks on Win Vista 64 bit

Hello,
I have Iphone 4 and Win Vista 64 bit. The problem is when I copy any music to my device from Itunes it starts playing not from the start but approximately from ten second. After some time it comes to the start and than track plays with crashes, like on an old vynil record. I`ve thought it`s something with my Iphone but tried to copy music from Itunes on Win 7 32 bit and it went off well. Is it a bug with Itunes64 or maybe I`ve missed some settings?

As a matter of fact, yes, I just the other day installed PSE2 on my new
Vista 64 bit machine and it installed without any complaints and now works
like a charm. I had seen several posts where folks reported assorted
problems doing so, but none here. It may be a matter of memory? I have 6
GB and a quad core processor.

Lenovo 3000 N100, Services failed to start No internet connection, Win Vista H Prem SP2

Can not connect to the internet.
Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center   .. Below Sharing and Discovery "off "
Tried to connect wireless first. Network discovery is off. Clicked to turn on and apply..... it will not turn on? (still trying ) To end I had to use the task manager, to end program.
Connected a network cable to the laptop and fill out the wizard connection information.
       Still will not connect.   Restarted with network cable attached no connection.
Wireless Connection status, Radio off. Click on "Power on Wireless Radio" will not come on.
Also have some spooler issues, currently no printer installed. "The Dependency service or group failed to start."

Called into the Lenovo help desk for software, Rommel did diagnostic with me and it seem to be a virus. I have no services files running and no internet connection.
With no internet connection it's hard to get a service from Lenovo.
They are will to sell me a one time service for 89.00 and if it's considered major it would go to 129.00.
A one year service agreement would be 179.00 for 3 major and unlimited minor and they would on either of these send me a boot disk.
They did a great Diagnostic work I'm just not sold they can fix my problem.
On the command line   ping 127.0.0.1 gets me Unable to initialize windows Socket, error code 10107.
Looks like I dead in the water..........

You cannot use the Pavilion 500 desktop recovery disks to upgrade the operating system on your HP laptop.
You would have to purchase either: a Win 8 retail upgrade or full install disc to change the operating system on your laptop.
If you are considering upgrading your laptop you should consider Win 7 64 bit instead of Win 8.

Hi there. I'm trying to install my VOX USB2.0 TV BOX on my Win Vista without success... Until now only got video working with Intervideo in win xp compatibility mode, but there's no sound :( the audio cable is connected on the mic in plug. Anyone has the drivers for Vista? It should be connected to your 'Line-in' connector. What mainboard/soundcard are you using? Make sure that input is selected as default Recording source in Control Panel, and is not muted.
