Help,Layers changing position when grouped.

I imported a layered JPEG image from Photoshop into Motion 3 (each layer together made up a single image)
When trying to group some of the layers in motion, the grouped layers alter their position (i.e appear dislodged from the single image.)
Is there a way i can group layers together without changing their position?
I've tried holding the Cmd key when grouping (as suggested in the release notes) but that did not work.

Sorry for the late reply.
What I’m trying to do is to import an image that I cut up into layers Photoshop (like a jigsaw puzzle) and then import that layered Photoshop file into motion.
The goal is to hopefully create a smashed pane of glass effect, with the image. (you know.. “smash” the image into the created pieces (layers) and have them fly towards the viewer, then reverse animated media so that it forms one image again)
I got as far as importing the picture as a whole into motion with all the layers creating what looks like a single image. But as soon as I group a number of the layers that form the image together, those grouped layers become dislodged from the whole picture.
I’m going to try playing with the anchor points as you suggested, and hopeful it may fix it.

Im making a frame-by-frame animation and today when i opened my project som objects had changed position while others didn't. This countinues throughout the whole timeline and sometimes they change position.

I think it has something to do with me changing the documents size. But it didnt happen yesterday when i did the change, only today when i opened the file again, and i cant change it back and make things right again.
If someone knows what happened and if i can fix this it would mean A LOT to me.

There is really no way around backing up your files regularly.
Flash is sadly not the most stable program.
Make it a habit to save a new version every half an hour or so, that will diminish your losses.
Consider it a "warning shot" and consider yourself lucky that you didn`t get the infamous "flash couldn`t open file" message ;-)

After Effects, Layers change position when converting project from CC to CC 2014

When we convert some projects from CC to CC 2014 some of the layers are shifting position (both x & y).
Anyone else seeing this kind of problems?

Photoshop changed how layer bounds are calculated in some cases, which causes the Photoshop library that we include with After Effects to also have this change. We are currently working to determine how to fix this for the next update. It's tricky, because the new way that Photoshop is doing things is more correct... but it also means that projects created in previous versions look different when opened in the new version. We'll probably end up with a "legacy" option that will prevent this conversion from happening when opening old projects.

Why do masks change position when I move them to other layers?

I created both a simple shape mask and also a complex bezier shape mask. When I move these masks to other layers they change their position. Is there a way to change this behavior?

They are positioned in relation to the original object, and the Group that object is in. Copying them to another object may sometimes require you reposition them.

Help! layers change position from document window to browser window

dear all,
i have a single page site with buttons on which when clicked on show or hide layers.
BUT I have the age old problem in that the layers appear in a different position in the browser window
than where I positioned them in the document window.
Is there a fix? a plug-in?
I am tearing my hair out over this.

First off, code is important. If you don't post a link to the page in the question or at least the code (HTML + CSS) from the page in question all we can do is guess.
From your statement I would suspect you are using Absolute Positioned divs and you are hoping web design is like print design and you are now realizing it is now. Best suggestion I could give is read over the HTML and CSS tutorial at the following website:

Has anyone ever noticed that pictures of self change position (when taken with someone else)?

When you take a picture of yourself (and someone else) - their positions change. I would be on the right of them. When reviewing the picture, their position changes and now I'm on the left...

It's when you turn the camera onto yourself (and when you're taking a picture of yourself and someone else)

Checking WBS elements when changing WBS element group

Dear Gurus,
Well I am a technical consultant, I use to dwell in the ABAP forum, so maybe I am going to say things without much sense, if so please tell me.
I have a problem. One of our customers uses transaction KJH2 to change WBS elements groups and they have asked us to check the WBS elements that the users can put in the transaction.
If a user adds a new WBS range both the WBS elements have to exist in the system, we have to check it somehow, probably using a user-exit or a BADI.
The problem is that I have been looking for a BADI or a USER-EXIT for many hours and I have been unable to find one which allows us to check this, same when the user inputs the WBS element as when we save the changes.
Somebody has some help? Any advice would be apreciated.
In the while I will keep trying to find it and if I succeed I will post it here anyhow.
So long I have put a break-point in the 'CL_EXITHANDLER' class and I have checked the BADIs that can be used when I make the process, none can be useful I think. I have tried to find a USER-EXIT and I have foud none.

Maybe you are right and we can't use a BADI for this. But we have a customer which has requested us to code this data check so I have to try.
I agree that this is master data but it is a simple data check without many consecuences (at least it seems so to me), maybe there is a way to do this.
Right now I think I am going to stop this until Monday as the FI consultant is now on vacation.

Material group chang even when request is rejected

Hi Experts,
I am designing a WF where to change the Material Group need approval of supervisor if rejected by supervisor workflow initiator will get a mail for rejection and material group will not be changed.
I designed and linked it to the event the WF is triggering properly but the problem is when supervisor reject the request the WF initiator get a mail but Material group is not set to itu2019s previous value it is getting changed.

Hello Bikas,
The workflow is going to be triggered only when you save the changes that you have made to the material group. So to revert the changes when the superior rejects the proposal, You have to create a method in which the the material group is changed to the previous value. For that reason what I feel, get the previous value of the material group from the CDHDR and CDPOS tables and create a background process(a BDC) which updates the material group to the previous value. Use this method in a step in the workflow that you have designed.

Hi I am new to After effects so apologies if this is a daft question.
I have a map as my main layer and I have created a text layer.I want to animate the position of the map which can easily be done.However all other layers move with the map layer.So if I move across the map all other layers moves aswell.When I want them to stay in a fixed position

We can't know anything without knowing the structure of your project, what you animate exactly and so on. Layers don't automatically move in unison, that would only happen if they are pre-composed, parented or linked with expressions or your footage is a flattened file in the first place. Conversely, moving the camera in a 3D scene naturalyl would make all 3D layers respond to that camera, but not 2D layers. anyway, we realyl can't know what's going on without more info. Screenshots of the timeleine might tell a lot....

I already have a cell with the current date in it. I also know how to change the fill/text colors. All the cells have been formatted to show date only. I am having trouble with the formula. I can get to the Conditional Formatting menu and select "With Dates" but after that I am lost. Can anyone help?

Set a Conditional Format rule as shown in the illustration below. The rule has been applied to all dates in column B of the table.

Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

Photoshop CC 2014 hangs for nearly 15 seconds when using Layer Group Layers or Layer Palette Group from Layers commands.

Photoshop hangs for nearly 15 seconds when using Layer > Group Layers or Layer Palette > Group from Layers commands. NOT on creating new group and creating layers and drag-n-dropping layers into group manually in Layer Palette. Got a UI design file with nearly 800 layers and lot of groups. This doesn't occur in smaller files. Using OS X Mavericks, Photoshop CC 2014.2.2, Mid 2014 15-inch Retina Macbook Pro.
I understand that the solution would be just to cut the file into smaller files and design each UI view in a separate file but that would be painful. And it does not seem to be a very hard task to just group layers.

Does the document also have a lot of layer comps?
And can you post that document or send me a copy of it so we can see exactly why it is hanging?
