  • Lenovo G530 4446-36U Keyboard issue

When typing on the keyboard it seems to  randomly mouse click.  I imagin that the key keyboard and touch pad are integrated.  I just bought this laptop, problem right out of the box.  The support site is unhelpful and many links are broken.

Yes, I am having the exact same problem, right out of the box.  While typing, especially in a text input box in a browser (such as gmail), the cursor will randomly reposition itself or I get the autoscroll function suddenly activated.
Have you got any information on solving it yet?

  • BIOS update crashed G530 4446-23U Win 7 32 bit

I have installed latest BIOS upgrade from Lenovo  and my laptop crashed. (June 24 2011)
Will not boot, Lenovo restore doesn't help, can't boot from Windows 7 DVD
Does anyone know of a utility to create a bootable USB (or disk) BIOS flash
to roll-back to a working version of BIOS?

    Yeah.... Warranty .... Thank you!
    This is a solution which actually works;
It was recommended by a brilliant friend who is not associated with Lenovo:
    create bootable usb flash drive
here is a link to download wintoflash utility:
           http://download.cnet.com/WinToFlash/3000-2094_4-10974471.html
Unzip 6get19ww.exe to the usb flash drive to a folder (for example C:\SOS)
boot computer from newly created usb flash drive (if Windows doesn't work, use command prompt)
locate an old bios file on a crashed machine. It should be name bios.bak
copy located file to another folder with the name bios.wph for example (C:\SOS\bios.wph)
run WinPhlash.exe from a folder (for example C:\SOS)
specify backup file for existing BIOS as bios1.bak
specify new BIOS file as C:\SOS\BIOS.WPH
    flash BIOS
    Everything WORKS!

  • Specifications for G530 4446-36U?

I have ordered a new G530 4446-36U from a Lenovo reseller and am having trouble finding detailed technical information about it. (The model is not in the most recent 3book.pdf, for instance.) I'm not even sure whether this model is in the commercial or consumer line.
I plan to do a clean install of Windows XP on this machine, which will require me to find the most correct and up-to-date set of drivers. I'm wary of the list I have been served when putting my model number into the Lenovo web site--that list includes drivers such as nVidia graphics and Bluetooth that I'm pretty sure none of the G530 4446 machines need. I also am worried about being pointed so often to N500 drivers and information--are those models really the same in all relevant respects?
Furthermore, in a look through this forum, I have noticed that some Value Line customers have had trouble after trying to upgrade the BIOS, and other G530 owners running XP have problems with video resolution. I'm hoping to avoid those situations by finding the most correct and complete drivers, documentation, and specifications.
I would be grateful if someone could point me to the most specific and accurate information available about the G530 4446-36U.

    Hi KevinTMC,
4446 is definitely a commercial product instead of consumer line.Commercial products has only 7 digits of serial number.
You can get the drivers from Lenovo Support Page or here to be exact .
The http://consumersupport.lenovo.com page is for consumer products other than 4446 type.
If you browse through the Lenovo Support Page, you'll be able to see your machine description as below:
    Product: Lenovo G530 4446-36U [change]
    Operating system: All [change]
    Original description: T4200(2GHz), 3GB RAM, 250GB 5400rpm HD, 15.4in 1280x800 LCD, Intel 4500M, CDRW/DVDRW, 802.11bg wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, Touchpad, Camera, 6c Li-Ion, WinVista Home Premium 32
    Hope these help.

  • G530 (4446-22G) unknown devices after Win7 installation

    Hi,
I recently installed windows 7 ultimate 64-bit on my father's Lenovo G530 (4446-22G) laptop. In device manager I see 2 "base system devices" in yellow that are not recognized. Does anyone have any idea what those devices might be? I attach screenshot of the device manager both by type and connection.
Also, I installed the Energy Management for win7 64-bit but the Fn keys do not work. Any suggestions about this?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Lenovo G530 bios update now blue screen!!!

Ok i have a lenovo G530 with service code 4446-23u. I downgraded to windows XP and it was running fine. I was on lenovo.com and saw that there were newer bios then what i was using(i think i had 1.06, and there is now 1.09 ) so i decided to flash my bios to get them up to date. It flashed fine and asked me to reboot so i said Ok and now everytime i try to start the computer it goes through the bios screen onto the windows XP boot screen then flashes the "Blue Screen" and reboots. It won't start in safe mode or any mode. I put in my XP disk to reinstall XP and i get it to boot from cd and it loads for a while then goes to the "blue screen". Anyone know what is causing this? or how to fix it? I am completely fine with going back to the old bios but don't know how to do that or if its possible.
these are the bios i used:

  • (SOLVED) Display brightness disappeared from Power Options in Vista, Lenovo G530

    Hello board,
My system Lenovo G530 product ID 444638U
I used to be able to adjust display brightness in Vista from Control Panel > Power Options. I could set how bright when on battery and how bright when on AC. Also, it used to be that when I unplugged power cable it would automatically adjust my brightness according to those settings. Now, nothing happens when I unplug power cable, not even a beep.
Possible problem is as follows, but let's keep an open mind to other things as well. I spilled beer on keyboard recently. ONLY on keyboard I am sure. I replaced keyboard with something that fits but something that isn't made for my laptop, has different arrangement of Fn+ keys. Basically ever since the beer accident and ever since I replaced keyboard I had this brightness issue.
    Please help me solve this.
    -Alex

    I solved this problem..
Solution is to upgrade the BIOS to latest version. I am not sure actually whether latest BIOS had the needed fix or not, or it was just the process of updating the BIOS that solved this issue.  But no doubt, after flashing the BIOS, display brightness function reappeared!

  • Need an answer Lenovo G530 laptop.. The support line doesnt work in my country..

Hi, first i live In Israel and i've called the main support line and they told me they dont deal with my laptop and directed me to the ones who do > their phone is offline all day (when they should be *working* between 9 am to 5 pm). I've called them before a few years ago and they gave me much help.  Hopefully some one in charge can give me a working phone number for support.
I have a lenovo g530 laptop, its overall nice and i got it as a gift few years ago. Its been bugging me for a long time tho.
My questions that i've been thinking of for years:
-I've downloaded the BIOS drivers from the driver page and after installing them on all: windows xp, windows vista, windows 7 they caused a BSOD (blue screen of death) and i had to re-format my computer and re-install windows. So my question how exactly can i install the BIOS without crashing my system? My Bios have been at 1.0 for a long time..
Second, you might just say 'no' you cant right away but...
-This laptop runs on an imbeded 'chip' thats supposed to function as an internal video card, i've noticed some G530 laptops have Nvidia geforce 9300m on their Laptop, is it possible to install it on mine? (buying the video card and adding it in?), if not.. Is there a video card on this planet i can install on my laptop?... Am sure people ask this all the time because Mobile intel 4 express chipset is absoloute garbage and if i knew i was getting this laptop i would of never allowed my parents to purchese it.
    Tl,dr:
How do you install bios without getting bsod and having to re-format.
is there a video card i can add instead of this imbeded piece of crap i got (any video card.. Am sure something must fit the motherboard.. And i know the imbeded once works with the Cpu and its internanly connected.. Cmon man.. i dont wanna throw away this laptop and buy a new pc).
    Please respond and help!.

if you called them today, due to it's sunday, it's normal that they don't answer.
about upgrade, if you have the mxm solution, it could be possible.
about bios, you should've reseted the bios after flashing. it also could be compatible issuee, i'm not sure
( you may need to upgrade drivers, too )

You need to enter bios on boot, and change hard drive mode
to "compatability mode", save and restart your install.
    Should work?

Thanks for the suggestion, but we don't have a support maintenance agreement, so I'll likely end up wiping and installing from scratch if I can't get OEM imaging working.
