HELP!! lightroom 2.5 red and blue lines.

Hello to all, Reacently I upgraded from 1.x to 2.6 and now my previews show a sort of red and blue lines around the highlights, that doesn't bother me at all, the big issue is that such lines appears in the prints from lightroom. And that's not all those line also appears in the exported to photoshop.
My raw files directly processed (in PhotoshopCS3) doesn't show any problem.

Are you using a PowerPC (e.g., G5 Mac) machine?
Your thread title says "2.5" but your original post mentions upgrading to "2.6" ... I bet you're actually using 2.5. Is that right?
If the answer to both is yes, then yes, this is a known issue for specific camera models. It is fixed by updating to 2.6.

Opening photo in camera raw using cs5 and photo has lots of red and blue in the image?

I am trying to open a photo in camera raw and the image always has a lot of red and blue in the picture? What can I do to avoid this. When I first started learning photoshop this did not happen?

Perhaps it would be helpful if you'd post a screen grab showing the problem. I honestly can't tell from what you're writing whether you're seeing a bug or maybe you've saved some oddball Camera Raw Defaults.
Considering it could be the latter, have you considered setting the image development settings for that image to defaults, or even Resetting the Camera Raw Defaults (which will affect all images in the future)?

Attempt to play video in timeline causes red and green lines in Canvas

Hi!
When I hit the spacebar in FCP's timeline to play, sometimes I get red and green lines in the Canvas (looks like some wierd color digital interference). If I then hit the spacebar again, the audio will play, but with the same red & green lines. If I then hit it a third time, my video will play fine.
What the heck? Any ideas? This only happens every once in a while.

To be sure you'll need to include some more details, what version of FCP, and your current sequence settings, but I think I could make an honest assessment, right now. Make a note of your sequence settings, then trash your preferences, but make sure that you close final cut, also once preferences are trashed you'll lose sequence settings, and window configurations if you haven't saved them. So be sure to back them up, before trashing preferences.
You can find preference by following these commands:
1.type shift command h - this opens up your home directory
2.open the Library folder //----SPECIAL NOTE Be very careful in this folder do not move or delete any folders in here.----\\
3.open the Preference folder //----SPECIAL NOTE Be very careful in this folder do not move or delete any folders in here.----\\
Now find and delete these 4 files:
1.com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
Navigate to the Final Cut Pro User Data inside the Preference folder and delete the three remaining Final Cut Prefs Files They are as follows:
2.Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs //*This may be 3, or 6 depending on your FCP version.
3.Final Cut Pro Obj Cache
4.Final Cut Pro Prof Cache
Remember do not trash any folders period, nor move anything, delete on those 4 files, and remember once you delete them make sure you trash them from the drive, go to trash empty trash. You'll have to reconfigure any unsaved layout workspaces and system sequence settings.
This Clean system should be done once a year, but only if you notice FCP having problems.

Qosmio F30-117 - Display issues - red and green lines

Hi there,
I have a qosmio F30-117 and up to recently, I was delighted with everything about it.
Then, mid session, the graphics began to deteriorate, which a reboot fixed.
Then a few days later, it did it again and this time when I rebooted it came up with a corrupted display, lots of aa's all over the place then lines of red and green all over.
Managed to get in by selecting safe mode with networking and got a desktop although still with the red and green lines all over it.
Now its gotten worse still, when I boot up the laptop screen itself is blank, its getting something because it isnt totally black like it is when its powered off, but its blank.
As a check I connected an external monitor and managed to get in again to safe mode with networking, but its still very bad, and still has the red and green lines all over.
I started to have a look around on the good old www and there are numerous posters and articles with problems, and lots mentioning the red and green lines etc...
so Im not alone, but no-one seems to know exactly what it is.
Some have mentioned Toshiba acknowledging this as a problem and doing repairs even if out of warranty.
So, any ideas, any advice, and does anyone know if Tosh have indeed accepted the problem and offering any help??

I think it's a common problem in the Qosmio F30 models. After long term use, the soldering balls under the GPU chipset start to melt down because of the over heat and the bad soldering quality that was used with the F30 model that cannot resist high temperature. Now you have to replace the motherboard, since the GPU is build within the motherboard.
However, there is another two solution for this problem and cost less money amount:
1- do what is called a "heat reflow" for the VGA chipset: to do this you have to take the motherboard out and heat the VGA chipset on the motherboard with a heat gun or you can bake it in the oven for a few minutes at low temp, this will make the soldering balls melt and go back to there right position. However, you need to keep in mind that this solution is temporary and will last maybe for month then you have to do it again and again till you ruin the GPU and then the only solution will be to buy another motherboard. So I don't recommend that you do that at all, but if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a new motherboard this will help you to recover your data, even though there is more easier solution to do the recovery.
Anyways, you can go to youtube and search the term "VGA heat reflow " to see how people do it.
2- send your motherboard to a repairing service that can do what is called reballing: what they do is that they will replace the soldering balls under the VGA chipset with new ones that can resist high temp. and this solution is permanent and even in the future you don't have to worry that the same problem will happen again since the new soldering balls can take high temp change. I do recommend this solution even more than buying a motherboard, since the motherboard that you will get will generate the same problem after few years.
you can find this type of repair service online if you googled the term "VGA reball repair" or you can find it on ebay
If you decided to replace the motherboard I think you will not be able to find a new one, and in case you found one it will be more expensive than a new laptop, but still you can find used motherboard for your qosmio on ebay or online. so you need to do a search and find out what fits your budget or maybe it's better to buy a new laptop.

How can I remove red and green lines from a footage?

Well, the raw footage is an avi filmed with a handycam. This error occurred
the next day after I finished the editing in Adobe Premiere cs5. It might
be something wrong with the title graphics that I use, but still if there's
a solution I would like to find it out as this error occurred before.

The last time someone reported this problem with Oil paint, the fix was to go Preferences (Ctrl k) > Performance and set the cache levels to something other than '1'. If you cache levels were not previously set to 1 then we'll need to think again.

Try resetting it (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons and continue to hold them down until the Silver Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If that works, then within a minute or so, you should see the Home Screen and be able to proceed normally.

Vertical red and green lines on my screen

Today I was rendering a bass track in Protools, I do that a lot and always without problems, also today.
It worked fine and I saved the render. Then I had to go for a while and left my mac on, when I came back I touched my mouse
and bam! stuck! I work with two synced apple cinema screens, the left screen got vertical red and green lines and the right screen stayed black...
I am in a big worry because there is four weeks worth of editing on this computer. Does anyone know what I could do about this?

I suppose it's a graphic card failure. You'd better get new one.

Qosmio F30-117 - green and blue lines on the screen

So my F30-117 has been working well recently until I turned it on and had green and blue lines (sort of like scan lines) overlapping the screen.
I tried to install new drivers from nvidia, but that didn't work, as Vista just picked them up as unknown.
Anyone got a solution? Do you think the graphics card needs to be reseated?

You can easy determine what the reason is for this.
Do you know how?
Just connect an external monitor to the notebook and check the picture on it.
If you have the same issue on the external monitor the reason is the graphic card and/or mainboard, if not its an internal display issue.
Check this!
Furthermore you should only use the drivers from Toshiba. The Nvidia drivers dont have an overheat protection so the graphic chip could be damaged. Its on your own risk.
So try to install the drivers from Toshiba.

Addressbook import: Difference between red and blue

I was updating my addressbook by importing addresses from vcards. I had several duplicates which were just updated and added information in that addressbook entry. I noticed that there are red and blue colors denoting the changes (what I'm assuming). What's the difference between the red and blue?

Blue means an addition of data, and red means a modification of data. If you're reviewing duplicate contacts, the window has four buttons at the bottom that will give you different views (and different end results) of the duplicate contacts:
"Keep Old" means do not accept any of the changes from the imported record
"Keep New" means discard the current record and instead, use the imported record
"Keep Both" will keep both the current record and the imported record
"Update" tries to intelligently combine the two records, treating the imported record as if it has the newest, most trustworthy information

I followed directions left by others and in Windows 8 there is no Explore All Settings but found Use computer without a display. The narrator box was unchecked to begin with and I cannot get rid of the sound and that stupid blue line all over my screen.

13" Macbook pro.. Screen washout?? IDK White and blue line on the sides..

Noticed lately that I have some LED washout on the left and right side of the screen that comes in about 1/2 inch, also the bottom has a crazy blue line washout.
What is all the terms used for monitor problems.

Aliasing on Red and Blue color in ALL Flash Player video playback (including YouTube)

We have noticed that Flash Player does not smoothly decode the colors red or blue in video files (such as YouTube/Vimeo/similar), resulting in nasty aliasing on text/edges of solid colour. The problem occurs on both Mac and Windows platforms, tested with Flash Player 11.3 to 11.5 and demonstrated using the video below:

This video shows the issue clearly (you can switch between Vimeo's HTML5 Player to Flash Player. The red and green text is smoothly displayed in HTML5 Player or VLC/Quicktime Player). Note: watch in SD, not HD:
Only with Flash Player are edges aliased/jagged where they should be smooth. It's as if the resolution is dropped in half during the YUV decode.
I reported this today as Bug 3351502
Here's hoping Adobe can get this sorted as it means the entire content of YouTube (for example) has poor quality video in Flash player.

In general, the most expedient way to get your issue in front of an engineer (and to track progress on it) is to file a bug at http://bugbase.adobe.com/
I actually filed a bug on your behalf a while back. It was reviewed by an engineer from the video team, and closed as a duplicate of this bug:

It sounds like the problem is specific to H.264 video encoded with 10-bit color. You could re-encode your videos with 8-bit color as a temporary workaround to avoid the problem. If you're seeing the same problem with 8-bit color, please let me know.
The bug is currently open and assigned to an engineer from the video team.
