Help link in SAP portal

Hello Portal Guru,
I need to change the url of help link which is next to logoff in the top right of SAP portal. I thought it is on masthead iview. But it is not. Could anyone here help me to find the souce of the link please? Thanks.
Bai

Dear
Masthead: contains branding elements, user identification, and the appropriate (based on the portal configuration) function links, such as Help, Personalize, New Session, Log Off, and Log On.A link can be displayed or hidden by setting the Show Link in Masthead: <Link Name> navigation property of the Masthead iView. The Help link, by default, launches SAP Help Portal. You can customize the URL so that the link goes to a site of your choosing.
In the Portal Content, go to Portal Users -> Standard Portal Users ->Default Framework Page -> Masthead iView. Open the Masthead iView in the Property Editor, and in the Help Link URL property, enter the URL of the site you want launched when the user clicks the Help link.
Hope I will solve ur problem
Thanks

Now open the masthead from tyhe framework https://weblogs.sdn.sap.com/weblogs/images/251750294/framework_laout.jpg , there in the properties you will find an entry called as help link , change it over there it works fine .I have tested that for any issues please let me know

    hi all,
i need some links in the SAP portal related to " screen painter addon-on " in SAP B1.  i need documents explaining about how to work on it, any guide to work on it. kindly reply me the links related to it in the portal.

    Hi,
Once you install the screen painter in your B1 application (as any other addon, you need .ard and installer.exe files) you have a button giving you access to the Screen Painter help file. In there you will learn how to use the ScreenPainter.
    Hope it helps

  • How to integrate Lotus Notes and upload Help Docs into SAP Portal

    Hi Experts,
I got 2 questions with regards to content in portal...
    1) I got nearly 30 to 40 help documents (PDF & WORD) which users may refer when accssing CRM & BW system in portal.
Currently they are stored in the Local Drive....i am trying to find a way to upload them portal...so the users can always have the docs the require
    and
    2) Can any one please update me in detail ...on how to integrate Lotus Notes into portal and configure Single Sign on  currently my Portal and Lotus Notes user id's are different
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Geethika,
    1. IF documents are on your local computer, Netweaver Portal has a KMC Addon (Knowledge Management and Collaboration). Within KM it is possible to run a Document Management Scenario. You can Create Folders within KM, give Access Rights to Users, Create an Iview to browse KM Folder then add that Iview to a Page or Role so users can access it.
For this, please chech the online documentation via http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/20/b46d42ea0b3654e10000000a155106/content.htm
    2. For Lotus Notes Integration, your Lotus Notes Server must be running on Windows Platform.
For the rest configuration please check the following:
Single Sign-On from SAP Enterprise Portal to Lotus Domino

I've the latest version of SAP Ticket Verifier, if you couldn't find it, I can send it to you.

  • Create a direct external link into SAP Portal

Hello, I am looking to create an external URL to directly link into a specific page inside my Netweaver Portal.  Is there a way to set up this navigation?

    Hi Chris,
The link would be something like this:
    http://<server>:<port>/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=<pcd address of page>
The above creates the entire framework page around the page. You can get just the page by doing something like this:
    http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<pcd address of page>.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello Rupachandran,
the memory id won't work as it is within the current session only.
    you have two main options:
    1) pass parameters in URL
    2) persist the parameters somehow ( shared memory area, database table )  and pass a GUID in the URL which refers to these.
strangely enough although this is a mirror of most of the posts here, which want to launch WDA apps from standard GUI based code, the techniques are very very similar.
you might get some help from looking at this recent post Calling webdypro through R3 Function module

  • User creation in sap portal

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where in a supplier registers online and after approval(application is developed in ABAP web dynpro) is created as supplier in SAP.
At the same time the supplier should be created as a portal user with supplier email ID as his/her user ID in portal.
Though I can achived this by creating an application in java web dynpro usig UME api, but since application for approval is created in ABAP web dynpro there fore these UME API cannot be called.
If I create a portal service using UME API reference, it returns a message saying import reference cannot be used.
Is there any other way for getting users created in portal using UME api via ABAP web dynpro.
    Regards
    Shakti

    Hi,
Can you pls clarify on below point? Is it like you are not able to add references to your Portal Service for using UME API Classes?
"If I create a portal service using UME API reference, it returns a message saying import reference cannot be used."
However pls verify below options on your requirement. These might be helpful.
    Option#A)
We can still be able to use write a Simple Portal Service that accepts required inputs and creates users in the UME using UME API. And then finally expose this Portal Service as Web Service for your ABAP Webdynpro to consume it.
Below are help links based on Portal version:

    Option#B)
If not Portal Service we can also write EJB methods using UME APIs and expose it as Web Service from the SAP J2EE Engine.

    Hi experts,
We had an issue with portal access. I wonder if portal is venerable for security threats?
Could you please let me how to restrict the unauthorized users (anonymous user) to the portal URL.
    https://HOST:50001//irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher.default .
    Appreciate your help.
    Regards

    Hi Maruti,
    Hope you are doing good.
Can't you just amend the portal permissions so that this access is not possible.
    The PCD location should be:
    com.sap.portal.system/security/sap.com/NetWeaver.Portal/no_safety/com.sap.portal.navigation.portallauncher....
    Hope this helps.

  • Usage of CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN SAP Help Link and Suggestions Required

    This is regarding CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN fm
Currently we are using function module crm_order_maintain outside Loop i.e calling once for all the contracts as sap crm performance standard ,
Is there any standard documentation where we can find that states CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN should be only used outside loop,
As some are telling us to use in Loop Endloop because of timeout error in background job with contract having 180 line items,Which i feel that this create unneccessary load on execution (Not Recommendable)
Please share any comments and suggestion this and also provide me the SAP Help Link on this

  • Need help on SSO of Portal with SAP UCES.

I am trying to find some documents/methodologies to establish single sign on between Utility Customer E-Servive (UCES) and SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0.
UCES is a SAP Provided solution for Utility customers which provides a web front end for customers to check meter reading, intermediate billing, move-ins and move-outs etc. I beleive it also runs on WAS 6.4/7.0 and is Java based.
Just an URL iView is not enough since it would again ask for password.
I have thought of integration approach as with a Java application, but for that I need the loging module code of UCES which is not available.
Did anyone faced similar scenarios? Please help. A detailed explaination would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Check if this thread helps: Different applications(SAP EP & SAP UCES) on WAS 6.40=>Log off/on problem?
