Need some spec help looking on buying mac pro

I have been looking at getting a Mac for quite some time now I have used Windows all my life and I'm tired of it. I happen to have my birthday coming up and I have all this holiday money set aside for a mac pro. Here is my problem I only have around $800 so I cant really get an Intel Mac but I'm easily in the range for the Power Mac. I'm mostly going to play World of Warcraft and do iLife, iWork, and use Adobe CS3 when I get the cash. I'm a little scared though to buy a Power Mac because everything is going to Intel should I be worried. Also should I look for something else instead or just keep waiting for more money I have a 27' TV that supports HDMI and VGA and I would like to have a Mac I can upgrade because I'm going to College here in two years.

I would suggest to you to get a macmini.
its in your budget, and can run all the apps you mentioned.
In two years, you'll still be able to get something for it if you decide to upgrade to a macpro.

Question about "Harry Potter" Pre-Release

I am contemplating buying the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" album from the Music Store. However, in the description it says something about the digital booklet being available AFTER November 14. Does anyone know if this means that if I buy it today, I won't get the digital booklet? Has anyone bought the album or know whether this is the case or not? Also, am I correct in understanding that the album is only available this week? Thanks for any help.

This latest update of Firefox, 5.0.1, has a graphic in the toolbar space that looks like some kind of ad, had HP7 on it, Harry Potter ad maybe, and it obscures my tabs and toolbar and makes them very, very difficult to read, how do I remove it?

This latest update of Firefox suddenly had this ad (that's what it looks like), for what I am guessing is that it is an ad for a Harry Potter movie, as it says "HP7", (are there really seven of them now??? Wow, talk about overselling something....), but I need to remove it, can't see or read my tabs and tool bar headings, not good! My operating system is Windows XP, tablet PC edition, SP3.

Is it possible you accidentally installed a Persona? If it's a Persona or other kind of theme, you can revert to the default theme here:

Right-click default and choose it (your menu choice could say "wear it" or it might say something less strange)

I am looking to buy a new iMac....help please.

I am looking to buy a new iMac, and I started a search on Craigslist for fun, and it seems as if some people have some really good deals on the model mb325ll/a. It is the 2.8 ghz version with 2 gigs of ram and a 320gb hard drive.
This is not a model sold in the Apple Retail store, so I am a little hesitant, but the guy said it is the business model. Is this true?
What kind of warranty would it come with if I am an individual user and not a business? Do I miss out on anything? Please give any advice you may have. Thanks.

Apple certified refurbished Macs have the same warranty as new. From my experience, they look and operate like new.

How do I get the Harry Potter books to upload across all my devices?

Hi everyone, I recently purchased and downloaded the Harry Potter ebooks from the Pottermore shop and put them on my iBooks on my iMac. I noticed right away that they didn't appear on either my iPad or iPhone when I openned up the iBooks app on there. So I connected them to iTunes and put them on there and began reading one of them on my iPad. I went to go read it also on my iPhone but it is not updating to the last page I read on my iPad and I was wondering what I can do to let that happen? Is this because they are not in my iCloud because I didn't buy the books directly from the iBooks store? When downloaded they were in epub files. Any help would be awesome! Thanks!

Harry Potter Ipod

I have a quick question. I received a Harry Potter ipod for Christmas and I'm not sure how to get the audiobooks on the ipod without paying for them in itunes.
I looked through the archives to see if I could find an answer and someone said to go to apple.com, click on store and log in to my account to receive a code.
I can't do this since the item was a gift and wasn't bought from my account, it wasn't even bought online.
I called Apple about this problem back in December and when the technician was trying to help me I realized I couldn't open my new version of itunes because I didn't have service pack 2. My computer has some problems so it took me awhile to install service pack 2, but the technician gave me a case number and told me that if I called back and gave the case number I wouldn't be charged for asking a question and the person I spoke to would help me.
I called back and the new technician told me that he couldn't help me over the phone but would e-mail me about it. I never received an e-mail and even if I did I'm sure it would tell me to do the same thing I qrote about above (logging into my own account to get the code).
If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it.

Does anybody know, because they haven't started pre-ordering it yet and it comes out on the 12th. Also I was looking at the Warner brothers site that is Harry Potter and all they mentioned to get it at is Amazon and the warner brothers music site. I really hope itunes is offering it because I put money on my account just so I could buy it from them.

Um, yeah thanks for the advice... I've already looked there. I wouldn't be asking if I hadn't, I'm not a rely on others before doing something myself kind of person. Can't finish downloading Harry Potter book series

We purchased the special edition harry potter ipod which came with the complete audio book set of all the harry potter books. we went to the itunes store, typed in the special secret code and started downloading. we downloaded for a very long time then the download stopped before all of the audio books had downloaded. We reconnected to the itunes store and typed the super special secret code in again, but they said this code had been used before and couldn't be used again.
So, we spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to get some help only to find out that there is no telephone support for the itunes store. So, we went to the apple website and submitted an email support request, but was told that will take 72 hours to process.
So we're here, begging the mighty apple corporation to please help my daughter download the hundreds of dollars of audio books we purchased from your store...if it's not too much trouble.

Purcahsed Harry Potter audio books missing

The first three Harry Potter audio books that I purchase over a year ago are missing and I cannot find them on my purchases list. I know they are no longer available to buy from itunes but surely the ones I've bought I can still access? They are not cheap so I would be very upset if I could't get them onto my computer.

As above. I'm looking to buy a Mac mini 2.6 i7 fusion drive and want to connect it to my Panasonic viera HDTV. (27") read a lot about People having issues connecting to a HDTV. My tv only has 2 hdmi ports, no dvi VGA etc. if it hasn't been fixed I'm going to have to purchase a Smaller monitor due to lack of space!

Iam looking at buying a macbook

I am looking into buying a macbook and I need some help. It will be my first Apple. I am very excited but am also a single mom and watching my dollars. I was thinking about getting one on Ebay that is new in box. If I do this can I still buy the ProCare and the One to One service? Is the warranty still available to add on? I am trying to make a smart purchase but also be very cost effective. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have bought my last 3 Macs off of eBay... and you are right, it is much cheaper!
One thing i would advise is to make sure the Paypal protection care is at the $2,000.00 level and not just $200.00! If you get scammed, Paypal will only refund $200.00 if the coverage is $200.00. If the seller you are dealing with is only covered up to $200.00, then i would be very CAREFUL!!!
Buying off ebay does not prevent you from purchasing the Apple extended warranty... and if you look around you will be able to get one for around $175.00. (i bought my first Applecare for $165.00 and the second one for $145.00 but i think i really lucked out both times!)
Apple's One to One service should not be affected by where and how you purchased your laptop, so enjoy your new Macbook and welcome to our side... Oh, get a keyboard protector cos' you never know when an accident might occur and you don't want anything happen to your new MacBook! :o)

Harry Potter has taken over my iphone!

I tried to download Harry Potter Spells today, not realizing it was 100 mb. It has been downloading and or/installing all day, using up my wifi allotment. I have tried hard resets, turning the phone on and off, disconnecting from the internet. I was going to sync to my mac, so I deleted the partial download from the mac, then unchecked the app in the sync list. I thought that would delete the app from the iphone. No go, it just started over again. I have had to turn the phone off. How can I delete this awful app?

I wish I had seen your reply earlier - exactly what I should have done. However, I talked to Apple Tech Support and after trying several things they had me restore the phone. Ugh. Had to put all the Apps back in folders, lost all my photos and lost all my data in Apps like Grocery IQ.and Mr Potter downloaded himself to the Mac when I wasn't looking, after all that! Ha
