Help - Lost phone icon on quick launch bar

Hi,
I've been playing with configuring the quick launch bar by dragging icons from the launcher. When I dragged a fifth icon onto the quick launch bar it replaced the phone dialer icon.
No big deal I thought - I'll just drag it back from the launcher - except it's not in the launcher...
Any suggestions on how to get it back.... If only I'd lost the contacts icon I really wouldn't care, but losing the phone dialer is a problem!

So, you meant 5 *including* the launcher button, not 5 *plus* the launcher button, right? Because I can't get any more than 4 plus the launcher, and unless they were made smaller, it doesn't look like there'd be room for another. Or am I missing some way to do that? I'd love to add one more, since I use Google Maps almost daily for traffic checks, but I use the other stuff already there dialy as well.

I drag Firefox icon onto quick launch task bar, but it disappears everytime upon Windows start-up.

I had Firefox in my quick launch task bar. One day it disappeared. I dragged the Firefox icon from "Programs" to the quick launch bar. It also showed up in C:\documents and settings\owner\ Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\. But every time upon Windows start-up, the Firefox icon appears for a few seconds and then disappears. The entry in C:\documents and settings\owner\ Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ also is no longer there.

Many thanks for the quick reply. I have done as you suggested. I ran SFC, which did not report any errors. I copied to a USB stick and then deleted all traces of Firefox from my machine, not only in the "Programs" directory but also in "AppData". I downloaded the UK specific Firefox Full Installer and reloaded the application.
Everything is now working exactly as it should and Firefox is back as my default browser.

Why won't the Firefox icon stick in the Quick Launch bar?

I put Firefox in my Quick Launch bar. When I start the computer, the standard Firefox icon is missing. I can fix this by going to Properties for the icon and it "sticks" for the rest of the day. However, the next morning I have to do it all over again.

The only time I have seen this is if there is an update notification, there are a few things that can cause this: updates on add ons, automatic updates to Firefox.
When did this begin to occur? and how do you launch the browser, manually, or on start up?

Need a buttons to sit on quick launch bar or tool bar in desktop

can anyone tell me please ,how to create buttons on the quick launch bar in desktop, these buttons will run batch file for jboss app server,another button to shutdown the jboss app server, and one button to show and hide the console of running server.??

I believe that you need to put a shortcut into this folder :
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick LaunchOr you can have an icon in the "system tray" (bottom right) and have a menu (JDK6 is required).

Quick launch bar

hi i recently upgraded itunes for windows xp, and now my itunes button in the quick launch bar is gone...how do i get it back without waiting for another upgrade or uninstalling and reinstalling?

This is a bug. I have installed iTunes on multiple computers and everytime, the Quick Launch icon is either broken or missing.
This has been happening consistently in all 7.x updates.
After the install, I have to manually copy the icon from the new Start Menu folder into the Quick Launch area.

I was out of town for 1 day and came to use my computer and my quick launch bar has disappeared completely from the bottom of my page.

Apple menu > System Preferences > Sound > Show volume in menu bar.

Help please - phone icon only found in spotlight - how do i get it back!

OK - so ,,,,I was moving my apps around to try get them organised and as i normally do i moved the 4 main apps off the bottom bar onto a page so i could then move icons onto the bottom bar to quickly move them to the new pages.... are you following me!
Well I then started moving apps around all over the place but when i went to look for my 4 apps (phone, ipd, safari and mail) on a screen i couldn't find them anywhere. They can be found in spotlight but my question is.....how do i get the app icons back onto a screen!

If you have more than 180 apps, they won't all show on the screens. Try this:
Start by resetting the home screen layout: Choose Settings -> General -> Reset and tap Reset Home Screen Layout. That will put the original icons back in their original positions. The rest you have to move manually.
To get an icon to another page easily, with iPhone OS 3.0, you can drag the icon you want to move to the top right or top left corner of the page, and hold it there. The pages will keep flipping. When you've arrived to the page you want to add the app to, just move the icon away from the corner.

HELP - missing phone icon

Am new to smartphones...I got a Droid Maxx this week - while "sweeping" my fingers on the main screen, I moved the phone icon off the screen and cannot figure how to get it back. Please Help!

Welcome to Android...and your problem is easily solved if you haven't already got it figured out. Tap the Apps icon to see list of all the apps installed on the phone. Swipe till you see the phone icon, press and hold itto drag it back to your home screen.
From there you can press and hold and drag it to your favorites at the bottom so it's always there no matter what screen of apps you are on.

Lost Phone Icon for iPhone 4

I lost my phone icon for my iPhone 4. I tried a reset - holding the sleep button and bottom button. It rebooted, but the icon is still gone. Everything else is fine. What do I need to do to get the phone icon back?

Did you possibly accidentally move the phone icon into one of your folders? Can you still dial out using one of your contacts? Check these things before restoring a backup from your itunes (assuming you made backups).

Help lost ipod icon

Can someone please help me, I moved the ipod icon from my itunes to try to load some files and now I've lost the icon on my desk top. The icon that should be at the bottom of my page in itunes is also gone. Does anyone know how to retreive it?

I've thought of trying to re-install my ipod, but afraid I will loose everything. Will I loose what I have in itunes if I try to reinstall Itunes? If I reinstall my ipod cd, will it automatically re-install everything? I'm at a loss. But I can't try to install my files without the ipod icon.

However, I don't want them to see each other's number (also, it should show while dialing) but just click on logo and the other site phone rings (system will search database and call number assosiated to a profile.)
I have my PHP developers but they are not sure how to even start and out of ideas. And even if we do it on our website, will it destroy our site's performance/bandwidth...etc

Lost "Home" icon above Safari bookmarks bar

The "Home" icon in Safari on my wife's MiniMac (OS 10.4.5) has suddenly disappeared. The icon is a small house and is normally shown just above the Safari bookmarks bar, on the left, next to the forward and back URL buttons. Using Safari's Help page has not produced a solution.
Can anyone help me restore this feature?

Clicking Fx in the Vista quick launch bar now always opens new window. How can I get it to open the current instance?

This may be a Vista issue since Opera now always opens with a new speed dial window instead of just recalling the browser. This problem is recent, perhaps a month old.
Fx is not the default so I don't know if it's also a link issue

Make yourself a copy of the Fx in the task list, then you can either create a new instance or activate the existing one.
Probably missing the point, but I have been away from Vista for quite some time.

Quick Launch-lost phone app

I was playing around with my phone the other day and deleted the phone from the quick launch bar... I know this has already been discussed and I can't bring it back. I've tried searching for "phone" and dragging it down but when press "phone" I can't drag it! Can anyone help with this?

found another post stating to try a reboot. The Rebooting did not replace the icon in the quick launch. However, after rebooting the phone icon appeared in the app list and was available for dragging down to the quick launch bar. Wierd but hey atleast it is back. Whew.
